To stop using animal names as insults?

Animals are not only sentient beings, but most are intelligent in some cases highly so.

Shouldn't we stop using phrases such as 'horseface', referring to people we consider ugly as 'dogs' and as this council leader called a Senedd member, a 'cow'.

As quick as a fox ...as strong as a horse can be a compliment too.

There has been a lot of occasions where I've come across someone unsavoury who I want to call a vile pig, but I don't because I like pigs.

I mean, you can call me what you like, I don't know you, I don't care. But I don't think OP is bothered what the human recipient feels about being called a name - she's bothered about how the animal might feel, with their name being taken in vain, as it were.

If she like me, I always try to see what can be done to get more people to have some compassion for animals. I am tired of seeing animals being cramped up in cages. Like what happened to minks.

YANBU, but since society is speciesist, and this kind of language is the base of the pyramid of speciesist culture (like rape jokes support sexism), few others will agree.

I think it’s terrible. I mean, my dog is referred to as a bitch in her papers and pet records. Right there in black and white. Something has to be done about this casual,speciesism. It’s just not on!

To say that a criminal who has done despicable /Cruel crimes such as murder etc, (not in self defence at all)
Often the media oulets for newspapers will Shout Out for e.g a serial killer behaved like a Animals.

Or Compare a criminal to being akin to being as sly/devious as a snake etc.
