...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

Easiyo yoghurt maker with hansell yogurt sachets, I love always having yoghurt available and not having the guilty from all the yoghurt pot plastic!
Newest purchase has been my bean to cup coffee machine, I love it and It’ll save me a fortune in the long run.

FossilisedFanny · 18/02/2021 18:03

A rubber broom- dd and I have long hair and I’m astonished at how much it picks up even after vacuuming.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 18/02/2021 18:03

Not an object but Disney+.
Got it when it launched at 1st lockdown. Worth every penny.

Bean to cup coffee machine

hair clippers

Maybemay123 · 18/02/2021 18:10

Printer paper,
Ink cartridges,
Plastic boxes the right size to store enough for a meal for 4 when I batch cook. They're all the same size/shape and stack neatly in the freezer without using the whole shelf up.

Mintjulia · 18/02/2021 18:13

A Haynes manual on how to service mountain bikes.

Pre-lockdown, I had never even changed a tyre, now I can do most things for our bikes and have had to.

I'm quite proud of myself, not being mechanically minded Smile

Notgoingonholiday · 18/02/2021 18:14

For lockdown#1 we bought sun loungers and a garden swing seat. Also Sky Cinema. Now for lockdown#3 we've added Disney +.

Msfoxy17 · 18/02/2021 18:15

Well I haven't started using it yet but after months of deliberation (because it means having the bin in a rubbish place) have finally ordered a dishwasher and I am beyond excited! I know it's a faff unloading etc but just to be able to put the crap away and not have stuff drying all over the place all the sodding time will be a revelation, I think.
Prior to that - good quality leggings that I live in - sorry to say.

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 18/02/2021 18:15

Wax seal kit. Its really addictive and I now have way to many stamp heads and coloured waxes. On the up side, loads of people are getting letters from me now, whether they want them or not Grin

Maryfloppins · 18/02/2021 18:15

A game of Ludo from the pound shop. Endless games with the children ( that I never win) hours of fun.

Msfoxy17 · 18/02/2021 18:16

@Notgoingonholiday - would love a swing seat! Where did you get it from and do you feel yber relaxed when sitting on it?

Marmite27 · 18/02/2021 18:17

Disney+ and a heated throw.

lovewatchingrainfall · 18/02/2021 18:19

My dishwasher (well actually it was gift) but still it’s been amazing yes it meant moving the washing machine to the garage but it has made my life that bit more manageable.
For the kids it’s been their wobble board and borrowing a friends Nintendo Wii. (Wanted a switch but OOS everywhere)
Also Disney+

BrandoraPaithwaite · 18/02/2021 18:22

Cordless little dyson

MadeOfStarStuff · 18/02/2021 18:23

A bed table which I use as a desk (on the sofa not my actual bed)

A huge cosy jumper

QualityRoads · 18/02/2021 18:23

Table tennis table top. Not full size but great fun!

Lindy2 · 18/02/2021 18:24

Wellie boots and at Christmas time an electrical socket on/off timer for the outdoor Christmas lights so that we didn't have to argue discuss, which of us went outside to the garage to turn the lights off at night.

My wine making kits from Wilkos have also been fun and have produced some pretty good bottles of wine.

Finally a new tablet for my mum, who's in her 80s, so she can do her weekly exercise class on Zoom.

Labobo · 18/02/2021 18:24

OP please can you link to your large kitchen sink tidier? I would love one.

Mine is a laptop stand so the screen is head height. I spend half my life on Zoom calls now and it has improved my posture.

The other best thing is block booking online bootcamp sessions. They have kept me sane and reasonably fit. I think I'd be gibbering in a corner drooling gin without them.

starsparkle08 · 18/02/2021 18:26

An oodie so comfortable

Jaxhog · 18/02/2021 18:27

@booklover164

Am I allowed to say Amazon Prime subscription?!
Couldn't do without mine!

Plus my PulseOximeter. This has helped a lot with my anxiety about catching Covid.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/02/2021 18:28

Dried sachets of yogurt culture. One of the few things we couldn't get during the first lockdown when we couldn't get supermarket deliveries was yogurt. I had a yogurt maker (from lakeland, not the easiyo one) but we'd always used a small tub of live yogurt as a starter.

And a cold frame. Smile

Bigfatpicnic · 18/02/2021 18:30

LD 1 - sun loungers
LD 2 - re-started audible subscription
LD 3 - fitness step, yoga mat and resistance bands

TerribleCustomerCervix · 18/02/2021 18:32

Lucy and Yak cord dungarees

I can’t recall what waistbands feel like.

notanothertakeaway · 18/02/2021 18:33

Merrel waterproof trainers

Now TV stick

But actually, lockdown has emphasised how little stuff we really need / use, so we have mostly decluttered, rather than buying stuff
