Dermot O'Leary bad This Morning co-host choice...

...Full disclosure I am grumpy (PMT) and in lockdown alone so daytime TV is my only entertainment so this might sound mean as I'm sure he's a lovely man, but AIBU to think he's too dull to be paired with the amazing Alison Hammond and it doesn't work? She needs someone to bounce off. Its like they went with someone super safe to balance out giving Alison the job as she's so loud and a bit of a loose cannon (which I love) but there's a disconnect/lack of chemistry between the two. I find it quite awkward to watch them.

Such things are bugging me more than usual as I am immensely bored in lockdown before anyone points out there are worse things to worry about (I am aware!)

You're not alone in your thinking, me and DH both groaned this morning when we saw Dermot and Alison was on. They are marginally better than Aymin (can't spell) and Ruth but Alison could be wonderful with the right partner and it's def NOT Dermot

Dermot O'Dreary? Hated it when I caught his R2 programme on Saturday afternoons when he would talk ever so drearliy, and have bands come on who would also talk ever so drearliy.

He is awful. The way he talks over everyone droning on. He has no banter but tries to be witty. I also miss Eamon and Ruth.

Another one missing Eamon and Ruth, think they are on all next week because it’s half term.
Did anyone else turn over on Hollys birthday? Considering most people have had utterly shit birthdays over the last year it shouldn’t have been the OTT celebration it was. In normal circumstances I couldn’t have cared less but it felt plain wrong this year.

I quite enjoy Alison and dermot in a Friday, feels like catching up with friends! I much prefer them to aemon and Ruth.
I guess it what floats your boat. I'm loving this morning all week now, where as before I wouldn't watch on a friday

I love Dermot. But he’s not right for the show.

I love(d) Eamonn and Ruth. Really loved.

I can’t abide Phil & Holly. Really can’t stand them and can’t watch it when they’re on (any telly at all).

I only ever had This Morning on in the background but flatly refused to watch it at all after the way they dumped Eamonn and Ruth. (Plus I cant abide Philip Schofield 🤮. He's creepily on everything bar stamps these days. 🙄)

Am really enjoying Jeremy Vine and the lovely Storm instead!

He looks like he’s been roped in to cover for somebody at late notice, doesn’t seem interested much to me! I don’t like Eamonn but I prefer him and Ruth.

I love Alison. I'm sure Dermot is a lovely man, but he comes across really humourless or something? A bit of an old fashioned choice somehow. Although I don't think there is a vast age gap between the two of them, she seems a lot younger and more vibrant...actually so do Eamonn, Ruth and Philip who are all older than him 😬. Sorry D.O'L.

Cannot stand Alison Hammond, she needs to not be on tv, this morning has run it's course IMO. Sick of the speakmans aswell 🙄 I'm 6 months pregnant though so I'm just overly irritated by people!
