Dermot O'Leary bad This Morning co-host choice...

...Full disclosure I am grumpy (PMT) and in lockdown alone so daytime TV is my only entertainment so this might sound mean as I'm sure he's a lovely man, but AIBU to think he's too dull to be paired with the amazing Alison Hammond and it doesn't work? She needs someone to bounce off. Its like they went with someone super safe to balance out giving Alison the job as she's so loud and a bit of a loose cannon (which I love) but there's a disconnect/lack of chemistry between the two. I find it quite awkward to watch them.

Such things are bugging me more than usual as I am immensely bored in lockdown before anyone points out there are worse things to worry about (I am aware!)

I like Dermot, but not on this programme. Alison is fine in small doses.
I miss Eamonn and Ruth and haven't watched on Fridays since they left.

I knew Eamonn years ago. He was a genuinely nice person, in some ways quite reserved. Very kind.

They're lovely people in RL too.

Dislike PS a lot. Holly is very much all about Holly and very self absorbed.

Alison I like a lot and Dermot too, but still prefer to watch E and R.

I will tune in next week to see them

I can't bear either of them, but then I don't watch This Morning anyway, so it doesn't matter.

@CeefBurry Agree, although I don’t know them irl 🤣they seem very lovely and dislike Phil and Holly very much. Alison & Dermot are nice but just don’t suit the show.
Best all round would be Eamon & Ruth full time and if there had to be another couple on a Friday, maybe someone like Ryland and Emma Willis.

I’ve no idea why on earth they got rid of E & R, there’s no way ratings can be higher for P&H when barely anyone enjoys watching them, very bizarre

Is it still Kym Marsh on it with him? I haven't caught that one lately. Is Homes Under the Hammer still on at ten?

Last time I saw it Kym was off recovering after an operation and Homes Under the Hammer was on at 10. It's maybe a week ago though.

I do like HUTH, and I used to love Wanted Down Under, the BBC have never really been able to produce something that competes well with This Morning it seems.

I won’t watch when Phil and Holly on anymore. I do really like Alison though, she just seems so genuine.

What on earth happened to Anne Diamond anyway? I can't remember why she left breakfast tv. She's warm but intelligent. It's a waste.

I keep reading that P&H get higher ratings than the rest and I can't wrap my head around it.

@kittycorner Doesn’t make sense as everyone I know and the vast majority of comments I see are from people who dislike watching them. I’ve heard PS might have high up connections..but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sad as it sounds I’m quite excited to tune back in to TM now that I know Ruth and Eamon are back on 🤣

Yes I love Roschelle and her husband when they do it together she seems really caring and genuine

No . I am usually at work and maybe catch a bit of This Morning before I leave, not a huge viewer of the show or anything. I did have the misfortune to catch Holly's birthday debacle last week.
But if I know it's Eamonn and Ruth I don't even put it on.

Well, I love Dermot. I like the friendly way he talks to his guests, and listeners who phone in.
And the Dermot "O'Dreary" schtick is very boring.

So nice to see Eamon & Ruth back! Just feels nice to watch and not awkward and uncomfortable like with Phil talking over others etc. They’re just very natural and professional.

I didn't like Dermot laughing last week at the woman ringing in about having a phobia of terracotta pots.

I have to say I've really enjoyed Eamon and Ruth this week.

Eamoms comments on the shoes yesterday where hysterical and spot on
They are head and shoulders above the other presenters

It’s great they’re back! Actually watched every day this week, never do usually, Eamon’s seems like a lovely guy, Ruth seems lovely too.
