Dermot O'Leary bad This Morning co-host choice...

...Full disclosure I am grumpy (PMT) and in lockdown alone so daytime TV is my only entertainment so this might sound mean as I'm sure he's a lovely man, but AIBU to think he's too dull to be paired with the amazing Alison Hammond and it doesn't work? She needs someone to bounce off. Its like they went with someone super safe to balance out giving Alison the job as she's so loud and a bit of a loose cannon (which I love) but there's a disconnect/lack of chemistry between the two. I find it quite awkward to watch them.

Such things are bugging me more than usual as I am immensely bored in lockdown before anyone points out there are worse things to worry about (I am aware!)

Are they back for good?

Seeing Eamon and Ruth this week makes me wonder why on earth they don't let them present permanently. They have the right mix of professionalism and banter. I was disgusted by the shameful excessive display shown for holly's 40th birthday last week it was nauseating !! Please please get rid of her and Phil.

I think Eamonn always looks a bit bored and disinterested. Not watched this week because they are on. Who is doing tomorrow?

Eamonn had me in stitches on Monday on the item with Lisa Snowden about the boots.

I love Eamonn and Ruth, don't mind Phil and Holly, and I like Alison.

I think he's probably a nice enough man, but I just don't think Dermot suits this kind of show at all. Thought he was ok on X factor. But it was different as it didn't require any sort of personality or any opinions from him! In fact opinions other than "how great was that?" probably are not what people want from a talent show presenter. I have only heard him voice the odd opinion on other things, (not This Morning), one of which was how he only liked long hair on women 😂🤭. He is a bit of a traditionalist I think and old fashioned beyond his years. That's how he comes across anyway. He's better on programs where he doesn't have to say much off script I think.

He is a bit like Tess Daly to me, who is great on Strictly, but strikes me as an old fashioned choice who never says anything off script or different. Beautiful woman and I'm sure lovely IRL. But she is very much a pro presenter who doesn't show too much personality, which is what people want on some shows.

I have to admit I did do an inward "yay", when I saw Eamonn and Ruth this week!

@Sparklingbrook They’re great! I think it’s just his character, pretty laid back. It helps so much during lockdown, to actually have something pleasant to watch in the mornings, madness not having them full time I agree @lollipoprainbow it’s bizarre as they are clearly so much better 🤷🏻‍♀️

He comes across as grumpy and bored to me, as if it's all a bit below him. I'm at work today so have missed my chance to see if he's improved any.

The thread wanting Eamon and Ruth back has been resurrected due to this one 🤣

@Sparklingbrook I think he’s just a real person 🤷🏻‍♀️With Holly etc it’s all fake niceness but unfortunately isn’t like that in reality. I’ve read lots that he’s a lovely person in real life, I mean we obviously can’t know for sure unless you meet him yourself but he seems genuine at least.
