Crumpets and Nutella

GreenSlide · 04/02/2021 21:37

I fancy crumpets with Nutella tomorrow, but I can't decide if I should butter them or not. Crumpets without butter feels against nature somehow but butter AND Nutella seems ridiculously indulgent. So WIBU to butter my crumpets before adding Nutella?

Ewwww NO! Don't butter them if you're putting Nutella on them. Shock

Santaiscovidfree · 04/02/2021 21:39

Yabu for contemplating eating giant veruccas...

Muchtoomuchtodo · 04/02/2021 21:39

No butter needed.
Just plenty of Nutella.

As an aside I discovered last week that bagels with biscoff spread are also a very acceptable snack!

Godimabitch · 04/02/2021 21:39

Butter and nutella is not going to be a nice combination. Just loads of nutella

Serialcatmum · 04/02/2021 21:39

I had a crumpet with Nutella this evening.. no butter was involved!!!

RedskyBynight · 04/02/2021 21:40

I would say butter OR nutella but not both.

On an unrelated note, a colleague was eating crumpets with marmalade on a call today. Am I the only one to find this combination very odd?

isseys4xmastinselcats · 04/02/2021 21:40

No crumpets and butter or crumpets and nutella but not both they will clash the nutella will taste greasy

GooodMythicalMorning · 04/02/2021 21:40

Just nutella, the butter will make it too slidey and will dilute the chocolateyness

Sunbird24 · 04/02/2021 21:40

I would still butter them, but why not try one with and one without then decide? There’s 6 in a packet isn’t there? 😁

PinkFlamingo888 · 04/02/2021 21:41

Definitely butter them! Never understand people that don’t have Nutella with butter, it’s so much nicer that way!

Cornetttttto · 04/02/2021 21:41

No Nutella. Palm oil and all that. It's mostly sugar, as well.

mynameiscalypso · 04/02/2021 21:41

Ooh. DH and DS often have crumpets but I rarely do because I don't know what to have on them. Nutella is genius.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2021 21:43

You could just have a buttered crumpet and eat spoonfuls of Nutella straight from the jar.

Happycat1212 · 04/02/2021 21:43

Off topic but I was a bit Confused to hear it’s actually pronounced “new” tella can’t believe I’ve been calling it nut Ella for years 😂 new tella sounds so wrong

Crumpets and marmalade are delicious! Or Jam. Or Nutella (without butter). Or butter. Or butter and marmite. Or honey. Or cheese (grill it again after the you add the cheese)

I love crumpets!

Sunbird24 · 04/02/2021 21:45

My favourite crumpet topping is butter and golden syrup...

HollyGoLoudly1 · 04/02/2021 21:47

No butter. Nutella and banana slices. You're welcome Grin

An excellent idea! There is 6, and the pack was only 25p in Tesco.

Maybe I will have one with butter (LOADS) of butter and another one with Nutella.

Why wouldn't you have butter?!

ParkheadParadise · 04/02/2021 21:50

Crumpets and Raspberry Jam
Crumpets and Butter
Scones with Butter and Jam

QueenofBrickdon · 04/02/2021 21:51

I tried Marmalade on a crumpet once and it wasn't good. I love it on toast though!

My favourite is loads of butter and blackcurrant jam.

On the rare occasion I have Nutella i have butter too. Whoever heard of a crumpet without butter?!

lunar1 · 04/02/2021 21:51

The only thing that should go on a crumpet is butter, the rest of you are wrong.
