Crumpets and Nutella

GreenSlide · 04/02/2021 21:37

I fancy crumpets with Nutella tomorrow, but I can't decide if I should butter them or not. Crumpets without butter feels against nature somehow but butter AND Nutella seems ridiculously indulgent. So WIBU to butter my crumpets before adding Nutella?

Gamechanger here for butter aficionados - unpasteurised salted butter butter. (Bows)

Slightlyunhinged · 04/02/2021 23:21

Gah, butter not butter butter!

AdoraBell · 04/02/2021 23:24

Nutella on crumpet? 🤢

Cheese, yes, or apricot jam with lashings of butter.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2021 23:25

@Slightlyunhinged

Gah, butter not butter butter!
You might have meant butter the hot crumpet so it melts in, then add a cold slab to sink your teeth in. Double butter.

The same people who claim their spherical chocolates are the height of sophisticated luxury at ambassadors' receptions? Yeah, I take every word they say seriously.Grin

You bastards have made me make toast and lemon curd.

WolfHunter · 04/02/2021 23:37

I'm with @Sunbird24.. there are clearly 6 in the pack. 1 all butter, 1 just Nutella and one with both. You'll still have 3 to repeat the experiment.

And there's fuck all else to do... Grin

Ponoka7 · 04/02/2021 23:40

I broke my diet the other day to have crumpets with lurpak, Nutella and strawberry jam, after my getting them in for my grandchildren. They were well worth it.

ichundich · 04/02/2021 23:53

People who don't put butter underneath the Nutella don't know what they're missing out on!!

watchingabike · 05/02/2021 00:03

yvanka · 05/02/2021 04:02

Has to be peanut butter and banana on crumpets. Absolutely delicious and keeps me full for ages.

PeggyHill · 05/02/2021 04:05

Putting butter and nutella on together is illegal, and for good reason - it's gross.

Happycat1212 · 05/02/2021 10:02

“ According to the team at Nutella, the emphasis should be put on the 'N' and 'OU' - and the correct pronunciation is NOUtella.

If you've been calling it NUTella all this years, you're in good company, with 78 per cent of Brits pronouncing it this way.

A spokesperson for Nutella, Ferrero UK & Ireland, said: "As Nutella is enjoyed in every corner of the world, there has long been some fun debates on how it should be pronounced.

"Our Nutella team wanted to share how we pronounce the iconic spread's name. We emphasie the 'NOU' in 'NOU-tella', but we don't mind how our fans decide to pronounce it - the most important thing to us is that you enjoy it."

Yeh not making it up...

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 05/02/2021 10:25

I would have a scrape of salted butter too. Salt brings out the flavour of choc. but I'm dead sophisticated me Grin

billy1966 · 05/02/2021 10:37

Butter and gouda.
I had to stop buying them.
Too delicious.
I was eating 4 for breakfast🙄

Comtesse · 05/02/2021 10:41

Yup the French say Nou—tella. Butter and honey is great on crumpets - it all melts down into the holes!

Justcallmebebes · 05/02/2021 10:45

Wouldn't touch Nutella if you paid me but do love a crumpet
