Amazon Prime, Netflix, wherever. I need something to get us through the rest of winter because my work is depressing, my baby is exhausting, my cat won't leave me alone, and lockdown is forever.

OP posts:

The Gilmore Girls on Netflix. There are 153 episodes. I haven't many left. Great writing. So witty.

Fefifobum · 29/01/2021 01:22

Bridgerton
Handmaids tale
Breaking bad
Better call Saul
Orange is the new black
The Fall
Line of duty
The Bodyguard
Hinterland
Unforgotten
Game of thrones again!

I’m going to start It’s a sin and it’s reminding me of UKs Queer as folk might rewatch that again!

Pollypudding · 29/01/2021 01:35

Loads of great recommendations there- we also liked
Emily in Paris
The Umbrella Academy
Fresh Meat ( old but hilarious)

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 29/01/2021 01:46

Lockdown 1 - I watched quite a lot of Spooks on iPlayer - OK except any episodes that focussed on germ warfare! I'd seen a few of the early series, but found them harder to follow in between missing episodes and more complex plots as the series moved on.

More recently I enjoyed a series called London Kills, also on iPlayer; it's a police drama, originally created for the US, so the intros are a bit of a love letter to London with the sights etc.

There are also some real gems on BBC sounds - recovering from covid, watching stuff was a bit of a challenge at times.

ihateaparade · 29/01/2021 02:12

Ted Lasso - amazing.
Bridgerton - thoroughly entertaining
Locke & Key - Netflix
Discovery of Witches
Sex Education
Anne with an E
Ozark
Harlots
Schitt's Creek
Outlander

I watch too much tv...

Muzzyarker · 29/01/2021 02:43

Binkybix · 29/01/2021 05:20

Cobra Kai
Ozark
Battle star Galactica

bitheby · 30/01/2021 00:27

Unbelievable. Just binged it over two days. It's a crime drama based on a true story.

PurplePansy05 · 30/01/2021 08:47

It's a Sin is an excellent series!

waltzingparrot · 30/01/2021 09:01

Shadowhunters
A discovery of witches
Atypical
Virgin river
High Seas

60sbird · 30/01/2021 09:04

Another recommendation for This is us, I binge watched the whole lot in a week and half

Earlybird00 · 30/01/2021 09:52

Is it just me or do you end up crying at every episode of This is Us? Do love it tho

ParlezVousWronglais · 30/01/2021 09:54

Yes, every single episode. Watched the most recent one last night, that was tough! It's brilliant though. I also cry during every episode of After Life.
HelloILoveYou · 30/01/2021 12:01

Lots of great recommendations there, but two bing sessions that stood out for me were:

  • Unorthodox
  • Unbelievable

Both based on true stores, each just a few episodes, very focused. I watch each series over 2 days. Couldn't stop!

diege · 30/01/2021 15:14

Started This Is Us on the recommendation of this thread on Thursday. On episode 15 series one. Addicted Blush

kennypppppppp · 30/01/2021 15:47

bling empire. plotless and fabulous. makes real housewives look like paupers

kennypppppppp · 30/01/2021 15:48

american version of the office. have just got into it. fabulous.

Roussette · 30/01/2021 16:06

Unbelievable was heartbreaking but so worth watching. Needs a trigger warning (it's about rape)

Ditto When They See Us about the Central Park Five. (Fuck Trump with his full page ads)

crazyontheweekend · 30/01/2021 16:18

For something girly, gritty and addictive try Big Little Lies (series 1&2- Sky Atlantic i think) or Little Fires Everywhere (Prime). Both with Reiss Witherspoon 👍 I loved both.

Also one your DP might enjoy more than you (mine did) is The Boys (Prime). I enjoyed it though.

Going to start This Is Us after reading all these recommendations 😊

Yes, but then I cry a t anything, I think the next episode is in Tuesday, I can’t wait

LadyMayoGoodway · 31/01/2021 11:43

All times favourites some new and some are quite old but you might still be able to find them:

Sharp Objects with Amy Adams who’s freakin’ awesome in it (think it was Sky Atlantic)
Damages with Glen Close
Succession (We watched it on Amazon I think)
Witnesses (French with subtitles but amazing, first series better than second)
Line of Duty on BBC
Love Life on with Anna Kendrick on BBC IPlayer
This is Us on Amazon - watch from beg, this 6th series isn’t as good
Normal People on IPlayer
The Crown on Netflix
The Sinner on Netflix series one is the best
Little Fires Everywhere with Reese Wetherspoon - Amazon I think
Night Manager on IPlayer

minnie465 · 01/02/2021 16:09

Started watching "this is us" today. Lying up in hospital. Thank you mumsnet Smile

Bluntness100 · 01/02/2021 16:12

Snowpiercer on Netflix, it’s seriously good and binge worthy

It sounds crap, last remaining humans on a train as the world has frozen over. But on that train is the world, crime, passion, control, class warfare, it’s really addictive.

notawittyname1954 · 01/02/2021 17:04

Its a sin is wonderful. channel 4/All4 to binge. 5 episodes
