Amazon Prime, Netflix, wherever. I need something to get us through the rest of winter because my work is depressing, my baby is exhausting, my cat won't leave me alone, and lockdown is forever.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 28/01/2021 06:30

I've just binged Summer of Rockets on Netflix. Semi true story set in the Cold War.
Also working my way through I am a Killer.
Recently finished The Circle. I'm not usually a fan of American versions of British shows but it was actually really good. All on Netflix.

The Wilds on Prime.

And as others have said, The Pembrokeshire Murders (ITV) and Bridgerton (Netflix)

Upload. Thought provoking, sweet, well put together and surprisingly funny bearing in mind the subject matter!

LAgeDeRaisin · 28/01/2021 10:27

Wow, thank you for all the responses!

Might try This Is Us tonight, and work my way through the rest if we don't get hooked :)

The Great on All4 if you like comedy with a historical bent! If you've seen The Favourite (film) it's similar.

It's a Sin on All4 is only 5 episodes (an hour each) and very good.

Liverbird77 · 28/01/2021 17:33

Greenleaf.

Royalbloo · 28/01/2021 17:39

The Good Place

Schitt's creek

Suits is surprisingly wallpapery fun

Royalbloo · 28/01/2021 17:40

Oh and another vote for Ozark

NoOpinionNoProblem · 28/01/2021 17:51

Not binge worthy as it's just one episode, but watched 24 Hours in Police Custody- Black Widow last night, which was fascinating. Not really into crime stuff normally, but this wasn't really a gruesome story, just a really interesting one.

mommybunny · 28/01/2021 18:00

Forgot Russian Doll - I loved it. Unexpectedly touching but really funny too (“we did try ketamine at so-and-so’s christening-don’t you remember?”) 🤣🤣

Just finished Call My Agent and it was fabulous as always. I would LOVE to go drinking with Noemie and Herve. The actor who plays Herve deserves a Cesar for his portrayal of an actor accepting a Cesar.

I’ve also been rewatching The West Wing on All4. I started around the US election when I was really stressed (I’m American and virulently anti-Trump) and it helped me relax.

fuzzymoon · 28/01/2021 18:15

Back to life - prime.

Captured - Netflix / prime ? Can't remember.

It's a sin - channel 4

NorbertMeubles · 28/01/2021 18:21

seepingweeping · 28/01/2021 18:33

Davros · 28/01/2021 18:42

Desperate Romantics Prime

Keep1984fiction · 28/01/2021 19:11

The Bridge on BBC I player not the one on Netflix which is a Nigerian drama or the one on all4 which is about building a bridge.
Subtitled danish/Swedish detective series

Keep1984fiction · 28/01/2021 19:15

Norsemen on Netflix.
3 series about vikings very funny its in English if you don't like subtitles

Imapotato · 28/01/2021 19:43

I watched something called fate: wind saga yesterday. I was just flicking through Netflix trying to find something to watch as we are on house arrest and it caught my eye. I expected it to be shite, but I a full at really enjoyed it and watch all 6 episodes in one sitting, as did dd13.

Others I’d recommend are
Bridgerton
The last kingdom
Poldark
Stranger things
Supernatural (Though I don’t think it’s on netflix, don’t know about prime)
The Witcher

Also started watching orphan black today. Seems good so far.

Imapotato · 28/01/2021 19:46

Also dinosaurs, the one from the 90s with the foam suits comes on Disney plus tomorrow. I’m pretty excited about that!!

Ehhhh · 28/01/2021 19:49

Silversun83 · 28/01/2021 21:02

Definite yes to It's a sin (All 4).

In fact, sorry to all of the Bridgerton fans, but I stopped watching that partway through episode 7 to watch It's a sin and I just can't face going back to it after such amazing television! Grin

Queen's Gambit also a recent winner.

peachcherries · 28/01/2021 22:27

What everyone else has recommended, but tonight we enjoyed Alien Life on sky - an Alien has to pass himself off as human in small town Colorado, very funny.
Have you tried The Boys on Prime?
