McDonald’s Fillet O Fish (Light Hearted)

Just got myself a Fillet O Fish from McDonald’s (Drive Thru obviously). It comes with half a slice of cheese as standard - that’s a whole other issue! I want more than half a slice of cheese on my Fillet O Fish so I ask for an extra cheese slice, it costs an extra 20p. When I get my Fillet it has just one full slice of cheese! Yes, there is ‘extra’ cheese but AIBU to think if I’ve paid for an extra slice of cheese my Fillet should contain one and a half slices?

Background information: This isn’t a one off, it happens every time I order a Fillet O Fish which is my favourite McDonald’s order. I do go to McDonald’s on a relatively regular basis as my child has ASD. He is very underweight as he has no appetite but can often be tempted to eat most of a cheeseburger.

Also fancy a fill-ay now. Think it was the poster who described it as ‘mush’ that got to me. Hmmmmm...

They do actually describe it on the menu as half a cheese slice! It’s only in the last couple of years it’s changed as you used to get a full slice as standard. I don’t know why they changed it, I’d rather they just increased the price by 10p if it’s a cost cutting exercise as it certainly wasn’t done to enhance the burger!

It is expensive but I’ve always thought that’s because fish is more expensive. Totally worth it though IMO

FoF lover checking in. Their tartar sauce is the best! Jars of tartar just don't taste the same.

I used to love those £1.99 McD's vouchers in the Metro, used to use the FoF myself, and give the Big Mac ones to the homeless with £2!

I’d agree with the fact that I did get double the standard amount of cheese if it wasn’t for the fact that on any other burger your 20p buys you a full slice!! 😂

I'm not a massive McDonald's fan but I'm quite partial to a fillet of fish , I ask for salad on mine , 20p for a bit of cheese, huh !

This is the only McDonalds I ever have but, as a sideline, why, anywhere in the world, does it take so long to serve it!

Cheese is 30p in my local McDonald’s! I would expect a full slice.

If you do order a fillet it always takes a lot longer to cook. My son worked in there one summer and he said it because they tend to cook them ' fresh'!
Working in there put him off eating them ever again that year. If you want your teens to go off any burgers or fast food in general get them to work a few shifts in one of their restaurants.
I like the veggie wraps they do and the fillets are not too bad but they are smaller than a beef burger.

My local restaurant shows you only get a half slice as standard, but can upgrade to a full one. Very stingy though...

I like a fillet-O-Fish, but they're not very big. Quarter Pounder with Cheese or the crsipy chicken wrap with sweet chilli are my go tos

Once I went through the drive thru, got home to discover my burger had no bun. Now there's a messed up order. I can only assume it was supposed to go to someone who was low carbing or something.

I've been devoted to the fillet since I tasted my first one approximately 30 years ago. After a tip off on here on a different thread a while back it was a revelation to discover I could order "extra" tartar sauce. Nothing worse than a dry fillet when the cook has been stingy with the tartar!

My only complaint is that I can eat one in 4 bites. Gone too soon. Now a double fillet... stuff of dreams...

That's the best bit... it's a tiny bit sweet and it melts in your mouth. It's delicious.

I've just seen on the app that you can order a filet of fish with no fish! That would be a bun then...

Maccys is getting well pricey these days - I'm a skinflint and in my non diet days would just order the cheapy hamburgers and fries. Cheese with fish is minging - you're all mad

OMG. I never knew you could pimp up a fillet o fish!! Looking forward to eat in Maccy D's reopening - I find drive thru too stressful and don't like stinking out my car!

‘Cos I’m dyslexic and cannot spell! 😂 I even checked the spelling before I typed it and was certain I was right!!! On a bad day I can’t even spell my own name. It’s much much worse when I hand write.

Love the F'o'F, but they are so measly nowadays I never get one.

I used to love the old veggie burger too, the one made of actual veg, not some soya piece of crap.
