To ask about JK Rowling - can someone tell me what happened?

Just that really. I like her. I like how she gives so much for charity and how she put Trump in his place, but I know people's views on her have changed. Something to do with trans comments?? Can someone explain (in really simple language!) what happened? Thank you!

I'm sure that they could come on here and explain exactly what she said that they feel is transphobic but why would they want to, given the GC bias on here

that's just it - no point pointing out "what is transphobic", done that, you either "see" it or you don't.

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 00:51

Not much point answering questions on this thread on a different thread we dont know about.
Christmas miracles do happen. One happened to me 6 years ago.
But not this year it seems.
The question I asked, was if men are not dangerous, as you implied, why do transwomen need to be in womens sex segregated spaces at all?
I'll wait.
Maybe it will be a new years miracle.

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 00:55

Wow littlbrowndog, yes you are young.
I personally think its the motherhood that does it.
Hope your little ones have had a lovely Christmas.
I always love your posts, im always around but namechange lots x

That's fine, but then they shouldn't be surprised why no one cares.

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:00

All we want is one person to come on and explain, with a quote, anything, one thing she said that was transphobic.
I find it quite enlightening and amusing that on a 36page thread not one person, however they identify, has supplied one quote.
Strange. 363 days to wait for a Christmas miracle.
You had your chance.
Still got hundred posts of chances.
I wont hold my breath.

Quaagars · 27/12/2020 01:10

Are you missing where people have said they can answer, have repeatedly done so, they've given up as know there's no point?

Still waiting to see what my past names on here are, would be well interested to know seeing as apparently people can name 4 of my past names - bet they're all the non GC ones?!

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:12

Can you quote one of the posts that does that? Incuding transphobic quote from jkr?
I bet not.
No idea or care for your previous names tbh. I recognise this one.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/12/2020 01:15

4 of my past names - bet they're all the non GC ones?!

Sounds like a challenge, sorry I'm not good enough to spot your non GC ones 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:17

Notice you didn't answer my question regarding fear of men being rational or irrational.
If its irrational as you claim to believe what is the desperate need for transwomen to move to women's sex segregated spaces?
Its not irrational. That still doesn't give males an argument. The point is it rather works against the emotional blackmail angle your side have been pushing against women's rights and boundaries.
A gotcha if you will.
Still waiting for jkr quotes btw.
I'll wait all year.
Next Christmas might bring a miracle.

Quaagars · 27/12/2020 01:23

It was only a "challenge" as I was wondering how far your spotting went Grin I'm assuming your name is the original Erishkgal before every single name started sticking LangCleg on the end?! If so still interested to know what 4 names are those you can spot, even if can't recognise any GC ones
Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:26

"Are you missing where people have said they can answer, have repeatedly done so, they've given up as know there's no point?"
Yes i must have missed it.
But it only needs to be one quote.
In her own words, shes written millions of words so it must be there somewhere.
Just put it in quote marks.
Rather than a buzz feed article wtitten by a sixth former, full of allusions and aspersions. Thats not proof.
Anyone with an a level in history would know that.
One quote.
If you dont think there's a point fair enough.
But say that.
Rather than pretending you've got a point that we are somehow stopping you making. .clue. we're not.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/12/2020 01:26

Find my name before Ereshkigal and I might tell you.

No, what you say is that you've answered before (on some other thread somewhere), and you're not going to answer again. Except you've never answered on the threads I've been on.

I don't understand why you keep saying there's no point in answering the questions, and keep repeating that you're not going to answer and that you've answered before when it would be much quicker to just answer the questions.

Confused Well, if you've never seen it, it can't possibly be true. Or something
Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:34

One quote.
Still waiting

Quaagars · 27/12/2020 01:35

Where did bespin go?
As I've said, been on these type of roundabout threads a while and from what I can remember got banned?

Youve not answered my question either
Funny that

What even is your question?

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:43

Notice you didn't answer my question regarding fear of men being rational or irrational.

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:45

I expect you've got a cake to bake.
Or something.

Quaagars · 27/12/2020 01:46

Notice you didn't answer my question regarding fear of men being rational or irrational

Not sure whose question it was without trawling back, but know I've already answered whether a fear of men is irrational or not.

Blubellsarebells · 27/12/2020 01:48

'The question I asked, was if men are not dangerous, as you implied, why do transwomen need to be in womens sex segregated spaces at all?'
Ive asked this question 3 or 4 times on this tread.
Feel free not to answer.
Or to say there is no point.
But don't claim we are somehow stopping you from answering what looks like a simple question.

NotBadConsidering · 27/12/2020 01:48

The real reason why no one ever quotes JKR as an example of transphobia is because once people got it into their heads she’s transphobic because she defended women’s rights, the natural reaction to anything she says for these people is to assume it’s coming from a transphobic perspective. Because this is based on a feeling that has been generated from a reaction they’ve been manipulated into by Twitter, these same people aren’t able to articulate their reasoning into words. It’s all in the interpretation and the inference. The rest of us are supposed to understand why they’re inferring what they do, and if we don’t, we are also transphobic.

JKR could say: “the sky is blue” and certain people would reply “well clearly based on Rowling’s transphobic history she’s implying the spectrum of light is scattered in a binary way along gender lines and refuses to acknowledge light is a spectrum” and her detractors here would be unable to articulate themselves why they agree.

The bottom line is certain people denigrate anyone who isn’t complicit. There doesn’t need to a logical explanation for what she’s supposedly done because we know it’s all part of a slur campaign to deter people from considering alternative opinions.
