My nan died in June, we hadn't seen her for months. Couldn't have a funeral as my mum was shielding. Then my mum died in October.

My heart goes out to you. I wish I could hug you. I know that's weird for a stranger to say on the internet, but that's been one of the hardest things, not being able to hug and receive comfort from family and friends. When this covid crap is over I'm going to hug everyone.

Scautish · 18/12/2020 00:50

I’m very sorry to hear that. I’ve lost my mum, I understand the pain but know that Covid is making everything so so much harder.

TheoriginalLEM · 18/12/2020 00:50

She was 85 and it's a blessing really, she had so many demons

Why does it hurt so much?

Oh LEM.Flowers I've seen your threads so often about your mum.

I know what a big – and sometimes difficult – part of your life she was every day.

What a huge and complicated hole she will leave. I know people say "be kind to yourself" like it's a mantra, but really, yes, be kind to yourself right now.

Crafting1Queen · 18/12/2020 00:52

Condolences, OP. Flowers Brew.

Tell us about your lovely Mum, if you can/want.

Why does it hurt so much.

It does actually physically hurt as well doesn't it losing someone so dear to you. x

TheoriginalLEM · 18/12/2020 01:03

Crafting - she was a demon! Honestly such a difficult woman. The past few years have been hell and she was tortured by poor MH.

My only consolation is she didnt die alone, i arrived after she died.

I cant believe it

OP posts:
saffire · 18/12/2020 01:04

It does hurt. And you'll go through a whole range of emotions, some that strange and unexpected.

Loosing a parent is so hard. Especially if they go too early like mine. When my nan went it was a blessing- she was 90 and suffering. My mum was 65. I think loosing her mum was too much and she died a few weeks later.

I never knew it was possible to cry so much.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 18/12/2020 01:09

Oh LEM. It may have been a blessing for her but that doesn’t stop it being utterly heartbreaking for you.

Covid seems to be robbing people of so much and it makes times such as these seem even harder to bear.

May your happier moments carry you through your sadness Flowers
