I was looking for that food thread where people recommended their favourite yummy foods and so much of it came from Aldi. I couldn't find that list.

So I'd like to be quite cheeky and as you to relist the Aldi products in this thread so I can then walk around Aldi with my phone in my hand and move that list from my phone to my trolley Grin

Thank you muchly!

They have the best Christmas food by a mile - stollen bites, lebkuchen, nougat, florentines are all excellent.

Gatehouse77 · 10/12/2020 18:46

Truffle flavoured mushroom pasta; hummus; garlic infused olive oil (chili flavored also); cocoa; all butter luxury cookies; strawberry/raspberry conserve. All delicious and so much cheaper than counterparts in Sainsburys IMO. Also the wine is fantastic value. I wish there was an Aldi near us!

Geordieoldgirl · 10/12/2020 19:11

All butter sweet mince pies

Jammysod · 10/12/2020 19:13

@OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow

Truffle stuffed gnocchi Salami with truffle.
I have not seen either of these and I'm not going to be able to rest until I do.
checkingforballoons · 10/12/2020 19:17

Trying not to repeat things that have already been mentioned!
Extra mature cheddar
Vegan sausages (the red pepper ones, not the cauliflower ones!)
Three cheese stuffed crust ‘takeaway’ style pizza (why did I not buy one of these today?!)
And yes to the Christmas stuff - especially the almond topped mince tarts

GooseberryJam · 10/12/2020 19:50

The chocolate Oaties biscuits are as good as Hobnobs

Second this! The continental meats (as my mum would have said) are great too.

fandangofandango · 10/12/2020 19:56

Ooo I like this thread!

The fishcakes are great - smoked haddock, and the katsu cod

Veggie pies - cauli cheese, spinach & red pepper & feta, and sweet potato & feta

Baked cheese - with Kentish cider (yummmm)

French fries and skin on fries

Snack bars

Sharing bags of crisps

I’m just here to bookmark myself. Great thread!

DipSwimSwoosh · 10/12/2020 20:34

Timely. I go there about once a month amd will be there tomorrow. To be honest I don't much like their food (Maser Roth chocolate is good) but usually stock up on
Dishwasher tablets
Food caddy bags
Loo roll
Frozen berries
Jam
Peanut butter
Houmous
Kids vitamins
Multigrain hoops
Sanpro
Nappies no longer needed but were good.
All of which are good and far cheaper than our usual. Don't buy the beauty products though... dreadful!
I will make sure I now get mince pies, stollen and lebekuchen too. And try not to eat them all too quickly!

Smile3 · 10/12/2020 20:37

Toro Loco organic red, and their little brioche buns. And the frozen cauliflower cheese in bags. Love Aldi.
