To say it's QUEUE, not QUE?

Every time I see "que" on here, all I can think about is Manuel in Fawlty Towers.

It's a sodding QUEUE.

AngeloMysterioso · 02/12/2020 20:20

Sometimes it’s cue.

ReeseWitherfork · 02/12/2020 20:21

Que?

OfaFrenchmind2 · 02/12/2020 20:23

You lie. It's KE, obviously.

MeringueCloud · 02/12/2020 20:24

I am glad you are not calling it a LINE.

sbhydrogen · 02/12/2020 20:25

Who spells it like "que"? 🤯

IsFinnRogersDead · 02/12/2020 20:26

All the letters after the Q in queue are silent.
There's a if a tree falls in a forest does anyone hear it joke in there somewhere.

Scumble · 02/12/2020 20:28

It's queue for a line and cue for 'then this happened...' - I've seen que for both on here.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2020 20:30

Can't get too bothered about it. You can still tell what the poster means.

waltzeswithsnobs · 02/12/2020 20:30

¿Comó?

ExclamationPerfume · 02/12/2020 20:36

It's ect that gets me I see it far more than etc.

missmouse101 · 02/12/2020 20:41

Agree completely. Also the sodding your and you're nonsense. If you're meaning you are, it's you're. The apostrophe replaces the missing letter 'a'. They are absolutely NOT interchangeable.

uptheantrimcoast · 02/12/2020 20:42

yes! So glad you posted this Grin. When I see it typed out, I always hear the Spanish ¿qué?

Redlocks28 · 02/12/2020 20:43

Yes, me too. I think people writing que for cue actually annoys me more than for queue!
motorcyclenumptiness · 02/12/2020 20:45

I don't understand the queuestion

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 02/12/2020 20:47

The answer is Kew, motor.

FromageRay · 02/12/2020 20:48

IsFinnRogersDead The other letters are queueing behind. Bahaha. Ba sum tshhh! Sorry. Bye. (By? Buy?)

DameFanny · 02/12/2020 20:55

@ExclamationPerfume

It's ect that gets me I see it far more than etc.
I like ect, it makes me think of Molesworth and Down With Skool
LindaEllen · 02/12/2020 20:59

It annoys me in the same way as a 'chest of draws' (or god forbid 'Chester draws).

ImWearingReallyJudgyPants · 02/12/2020 21:00

Oh God. I'd forgotten about 'que' also being used for 'cue'.

OP posts:
BobbinThreadbare123 · 02/12/2020 21:01

And it's kerb, not curb, when setting oneself up a parking thread!

ImWearingReallyJudgyPants · 02/12/2020 21:01

I saw a chest of drawers advertised on Facebook Marketplace as, simply, a "Chester" @LindaEllen

I am, admittedly, a terrible old pedant - but some things are beyond mere pedantry.

OP posts:
whereisthejoy · 02/12/2020 21:04

I see 'que' where it should be 'cue' far too often on here Confused

whereisthejoy · 02/12/2020 21:05

Cross post OP.

You are my kind of people Grin

HowManyToes · 02/12/2020 21:05

And people who are trying to "loose weight"

Oh, AND people who get 'advice' and 'advise' the won't way round. I've only noticed this recently between here and Reddit. It really fucking annoys me... "I'm looking for some advise about by DH..." 😡

HowManyToes · 02/12/2020 21:06

*wrong way round. I must stop using the slide to type function on my phone!
