To say it's QUEUE, not QUE?

ImWearingReallyJudgyPants · 02/12/2020 20:12

Every time I see "que" on here, all I can think about is Manuel in Fawlty Towers.

It's a sodding QUEUE.

OP posts:
mcmooberry · 02/12/2020 21:12

Have never seen que thank the Lord but I have many times seen queue for cue and I hate it!

SanFrancisco49er · 02/12/2020 21:12

It's not a common one but 'click' instead of 'clique' really gets me. As does the mispronunciation of it as 'click' in real life!

DownToTheSeaAgain · 02/12/2020 21:12

Thank you OP for acknowledging the horrific misspelling that has gone unmentioned for so long.

ReeseWitherfork · 02/12/2020 21:23

The “your / you’re” thing annoys me because people get so damn hung up on it. I know the difference but I’ve slipped up before. Also seen people discredit everything a posted says simply because they’ve used the wrong one. Perfect grammar doesn’t validate an otherwise batshit post and imperfect grammar doesn’t invalidate an intelligent and insightful one.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 02/12/2020 21:25

Ahaha I, too, came on to say, ‘Que??’

I see you all beat me to it, including the OP!

Yes it drives me mad too.

Knittedfairies · 02/12/2020 21:27

And it's flak, not flack.

CheshireCats · 02/12/2020 21:30

@ExclamationPerfume ect!!!! 😤😤😤 It does my head in - I have to resist the urge to correct it every time. It's bloody etc!!!!! Arghhhh! 🤬

ExclamationPerfume · 02/12/2020 21:30

I also keep seeing on here and on Facebook he's for his. I took him to he's friends house.

AdditionalCharacter · 02/12/2020 21:33

Could of been worse, might of been this.

McT123 · 02/12/2020 21:35

the won't way round
Que?

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/12/2020 21:38

I done it.

Michellebops · 02/12/2020 21:38

My peev is when someone says "draw"
Instead of DRAWER AngryAngry

It's a drawer

And a chest of drawers not a Chester drawer or Chester draw

And breathe 😳

AlwaysLatte · 02/12/2020 21:38

What?

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 02/12/2020 21:40

Weary and wary. It was getting to the point where I thought maybe I'd misunderstood the difference for all these years.

CoronaIsWatching · 02/12/2020 21:40

I've never seen anyone spell it as "que" Hmm

MiniMum97 · 02/12/2020 21:43

I agree completely. Although I do think "queue" is being a bit extra with all its unnecessary letters. 4 is a little excessive.

curtainsfort · 02/12/2020 21:51

Had to check we were not in pedants corner, but nope, you have gone for it in AIBU...

Yes YABU. People just don't all have the same level of education. They are not all as able academically. They have struggled through tough childhoods and not been given a chance.

It's quite hard to see this kind of thing posted repeatedly. It's shows a serious level of ignorance to other people's life experiences.

This post has become a sad example. People piling on to laugh and mock others.

(next time, post in pedants corner Grin)

Sparklesocks · 02/12/2020 21:56

It doesn’t bother me ¯\(ツ)

justlonelystars · 02/12/2020 21:56

The best one I’ve ever seen was in a work email where a colleague meant “segue” but typed “segway” instead Grin

picklemewalnuts · 02/12/2020 21:59

Someone texted about needing a 'rest bite' today. I hoping it was an autocorrect fail.

Hello to my people Smile

Another one that drives me mad is people saying ‘reach’ when they mean ‘retch’. And don’t get me started on the borrow/lend nightmare...

picklemewalnuts · 02/12/2020 22:03

Weary/wary has suddenly cropped up. I wonder if that is accent related? I think they are the same in scouse.

fluffiphlox · 02/12/2020 22:05

The spelling on here is shocking or can be. But you’ll probably get short shrift by some MNers.
