Well he's alive... the rest I'm not sure is strictly accurate

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 05/11/2020 15:59

These election results have taken over my life. I'm constantly refreshing so many pages. I can't wait for this to be over but I'm concerned about the length of time the courts will take to kick out these erroneous claims.

Christopher Rudd, friend of DJT and something with NewsMax? was interviewed on LBC moments ago.
Arguing that

  1. So actual evidence of fraud but arguing Mail ballots are inherently problematical and the numbers this year are suspiciously large.
  1. US has 50 different elections all done differently and some have processes that may less secure than others.
  1. Trump wants all ballots to be reviewed!!!
  1. Recognises this will take a lot of time but only way to be sure. Also GOP (and Dems?) should be able to review the ballot papers. He was complaining that the poll reviewers in one state-Michigan? were only able to watch the count from a distance.
  1. Trump was surprised by the result, is convinced he has won and isn't going to give up.
  1. Lots of stuff about biased media and Fox's Arizona call.

Fwiw. My nerves are very frayed.

That is a hilarious thread!

Even DH who is very bored by politics normally, keeps checking the scores on the doors, so to speak.

BruceAndNosh · 05/11/2020 16:08

"Kellyanne Conway, was on Fox News, where she urged patience and a full count"
First sensible thing she's said in ages

chomalungma · 05/11/2020 16:10

It's ironic that he's calling for mail in votes to be stopped from being counted considering how much he values the military

Trump on twitter claiming Big Legal Win in PA

worrying

nauticant · 05/11/2020 16:11

It makes me wonder how many on the Republican side who held their nose for the last 4 years are going to very sheepishly creep over to a more rational form of politics in the hope that no one will notice.

BruceAndNosh · 05/11/2020 16:12

Trumps twitter feed is full of nonsense posts from bots

SabrinaThwaite · 05/11/2020 16:13

Has he not noticed there’s a pandemic on?

@nauticant

The tv networks here keep endlessly going on about Biden not getting the predicted landslide, Trump increasing his vote in some states, groups. Speculating that this means Trump will still have a massive influence on the republicans in the future. I don't know if the speculation is largely fuelled by having to fill air time but it's depressing. Largely saying 2016 was not an aberration. Which is largely true but feels like a Biden admin is already a failure before he's even elected. Confused

BruceAndNosh · 05/11/2020 16:18

Trump was right about one thing, the press are not talking about COVID, COVID, COVID today. But that's not because it's gone away

BruceAndNosh · 05/11/2020 16:19

Sadly Trumpism will be a legacy just like Thatcherism

tobee · 05/11/2020 16:20

Too many largelys in my previous post

My local news is asking us to be more careful, it is bad now
TheNorthWestPawsage · 05/11/2020 16:23

I keep banging on about this ... but it’s also monumental!
And it should hamper any plans of McConnell’s to do damage during the transition if he thinks he might lose the Senate.

I'm not sure it's really sunk in yet, even among reporters, that we're probably going to get 2 runoffs in Georgia on Jan. 5 that will determine control of the Senate.

Also:
Georgia voter registration closes December 7. Only 1 day of residency required. Early vote starts December 14. anyone want to move for 10 days?

Runningdownthathill · 05/11/2020 16:23

Checking in

DuncinToffee · 05/11/2020 16:25

I just saw that tweet, what does it mean with regard to the senate?

BlueCatRedCat · 05/11/2020 16:26

Biden won't get the Senate and the Democrats numbers in Congress have been cut. So Biden has lost, even if he wins, because the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, will block him in every way, just as he did to Obama.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/11/2020 16:26

@TheNorthWestPawsage can you explain the run-offs thing please?

StirlingFloss · 05/11/2020 16:39

Pennsylvania Attorney General speaking a lot of common sense on CNN right now

BruceAndNosh · 05/11/2020 16:41

@StirlingFloss

Pennsylvania Attorney General speaking a lot of common sense on CNN right now
Fairly unequivocal. Votes will be counted. Also that there is no legal basis to reject postal ballots
SabrinaThwaite · 05/11/2020 16:42

Seems like one Trump legal challenge has already been thrown out - Chatham County, Georgia (buzzfeed reports on Twitter).
