To feel sorry for Trump?

tartanti · 04/11/2020 21:27

I’ve name changed for this as I know I will get completely flamed. But AIBU to secretly feel a little bit sorry for Trump? He campaigned so hard for this election compared to Biden and seemed to put his absolute all into it.

The amount of hate he gets on social media is astounding - I honestly don’t know how one person can handle all that and keep on going. I would have had a nervous breakdown or worse by now if I was on the receiving end of that.

His kids clearly love him and they seem alright - perhaps he’s not so bad behind the scenes? I think losing this election will destroy him as a person and whilst I don’t agree with his political viewpoint, I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the guy.

AIBU?

I love to see a narcissist cry, tartanti,it makes me laugh to see they've finally got in touch with an emotion. Self pity will do it for them every time. I hope the FBI is waiting with warrants when his grasping mitts are finally prised away from the presidential desk.

Mrsjayy · 05/11/2020 10:32

career politans are trained to stab each other in the back Michael Gove is an actual slug but he didn't "stab" anybody in the back it was all orchestrated.

Duggeehugs82 · 05/11/2020 10:41

There is a lot of similarities between trump and Hitler obviously trump isnt killing people but that wasnt what he started at, he is trying to kill democracy and that is very dangerous

Tellmetruth4 · 05/11/2020 11:04

OP are you aware that his first wife, Ivana accused him of raping her? She said she’d referred him on to her doctor for a hair transplant and when it didn’t work he hit her and raped her. She put this on record but denied it happened when he became President.

This is the man you are feeling sorry for.

After seeing the deaths in Italy and other countries, after being warned to wash our hands etc, then BJ boasts about visiting a Covid ward and that he went round shaking hands with everyone - you feel sorry for him? I don’t.

Interested to get your thoughts on this @tartanti. When asked if you have sympathy for Hitler you said of course not. So where is your line? What would Trump need to do for you to stop feeling sorry for him? He's ticked off bigotry, sexism and total lack of empathy.

If he has made the 'grab 'em by the pussy' comment when about to be alone in, say, an elevator with you or your daughter, would you still feel sorry for him?

He's disgusting. It's ok to be disgusted by someone so disgusting. It's troubling that you aren't.

UpHereforDancng · 05/11/2020 11:31

I'm afraid you're either deluded or just not very well informed.

Trump is a prime example of absolute power corrupting absolutely.

Clappingforjoy · 05/11/2020 11:32

Hell alot of hate for trump

LabradorGalore · 05/11/2020 11:34

I can only assume you've recently hit your head or you've had covid or another virus which can cause delusions.

Feeling sorry for trump. Got to be the strangest thing I've heard in the whole of 2020 (and this ones been a good 'un for strange things).

Duggeehugs82 · 05/11/2020 11:35

I think the where is the line ?is a very good question

Sexual assault is ok but murder is not? And also having no pandemic response and allowimg over 200,000 Americans to die could be classed as murder to some people, Surely we can be equally horrified at each person.

Duggeehugs82 · 05/11/2020 11:39

Also this a man who took children including babies away from their parent , over 500 of them babies and children will be lost forever and them parents will never get to be with their children again. That isnt just a silly funny thing to do thats evil. People r so numb to the things he has done u get threads like this actually makes me feel sick

SabrinaTheTeenageBitch · 05/11/2020 11:39

I don't even feeling sorry for him as such, more like it's uncomfortable to watch I guess. I think I know what you mean OP but its really hard to articulate without sounding you like him personally (which I absolutely do not Grin)

SabrinaTheTeenageBitch · 05/11/2020 11:39

*dont feel sorry Hmm

UpHereforDancng · 05/11/2020 11:41

Trump is extremely dangerous.

He has said he wants to be president for life, ie a dictator like Putin, and he now wants the Supreme Court to halt the election, to stop Biden gaining more votes.

For me the worst case scenario is if he gets four more years, in that time he could completely (and legally) dismantle the democratic process to allow a Trump dynasty to lead from then on unchallenged. I really think that could happen.

Topseyt · 05/11/2020 11:43

@tartanti

I am interested if u felt sorry for hitler too?

No, absolutely not!

Then why the hell do you feel sorry for Trump?

Trump will not go quietly if (hopefully, please) he is voted out. He will throw the mother of all toddler tantrums, stamp his feet, shout and yell about fraud all the way to the Supreme Court and beyond. He isn’t even trying to be subtle about the corruption he is trying to peddle.

Do you remember shortly after he was elected when he openly and in full view of the world’s TV cameras mocked a disabled reporter. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

What the hell is there to feel sorry for?

WiddlinDiddlin · 05/11/2020 11:49

I feel sorry for some of the people around him who have been sucked into his world (for example, his youngest child) and will undoubtedly suffer directly from his behaviour when he loses.

I can't manage a single scrap of sympathy for him, he is vile and he has worked hard at being as vile as possible all his life. He actively views kindness and empathy in others as a weakness and mocks and ridicules it wherever he can.

He deserves absolutely fuck all, from anyone.

TicTacTwo · 05/11/2020 11:50

Do you really think he's adored by the kids? Or are they acting so that they maintain the privileges that their surname brings?

What do you think about his treatment of Ivanka versus his other adult children?

What do you think they feel like when their Dad publicly fawns over Ivanka even though they clearly fight for his approval?

When Donald renegotiated his prenup with Melania as a result of his decision to run for re-election, do you think he was really thinking about his family?

I can only imagine what Jared Kushner really thinks about his FIL.

jeremypaxo · 05/11/2020 11:52

On the tiny off-chance that you're being serious, no, you should not feel sorry for Trump. You should feel sorry for the millions of people who have suffered under his "leadership", not least the children who are still being kept in cages away from their parents after being separated at the border. He is a c*nt and I hope they drag him out of the White House kicking and screaming.

Hadjab · 05/11/2020 11:58

I can see why you name changed for this post 🙄

studychick81 · 05/11/2020 12:10

User- you misunderstand my meaning. That video of Biden is creepy but if that was trump he would be groping those women instead. He is much, much worse. We don't need to see videos of him groping women- we have the testimonies of women saying he has groped them and his own completely repulsive recordings admitting that he gropes and grabs women and because he's a 'star' it's ok!

He is a repulsive human being. I cannot wait for him to loose.

How do people think him loosing with help the UK? My DH thinks it makes no difference to us but I think it will in terms of climate change, Covid, trade laws, the NHS and Brexit.

tartanti · 05/11/2020 12:15

On the Hitler point, I simply don’t believe you can compare. Hitler’s actions killed 85 million people around the world!

I think the kids love their dad, as most kids do - but obviously I can’t know for sure. Neither can any of us!
