To feel sorry for Trump?

tartanti · 04/11/2020 21:27

I’ve name changed for this as I know I will get completely flamed. But AIBU to secretly feel a little bit sorry for Trump? He campaigned so hard for this election compared to Biden and seemed to put his absolute all into it.

The amount of hate he gets on social media is astounding - I honestly don’t know how one person can handle all that and keep on going. I would have had a nervous breakdown or worse by now if I was on the receiving end of that.

His kids clearly love him and they seem alright - perhaps he’s not so bad behind the scenes? I think losing this election will destroy him as a person and whilst I don’t agree with his political viewpoint, I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the guy.

AIBU?

If Trump closes up borders he is a racist , if he doesn't he is a murderer. A man talking crudely about women in a sexual way to another male in private is hardly an eg of misogyny.

You need to look up the definition of misogyny, it doesn't stop being misogynistic because you said it to your mates behind closed doors.

NRatched · 04/11/2020 23:50

Fastest moving thread I have ever seen on here!

@SabrinaThwaite

Trump’s long history of racism is detailed here:

Bring on the 🐿

Just a lazy copied and pasted article.. I've already explained that race and religion are two different things

Out of curiosity would you condemn a woman if she said " I would love to grab him by his dick " in private to another female?
MissMeowCat · 04/11/2020 23:53

I think the billionaire will be okay....

Heather101 · 04/11/2020 23:53

To be clear, I usually only lurk but I actually upgraded my password so I could comment on this post which I can only assume is a piss take?! Out of all the people to feel sorry for in the world, you surely can’t be serious in feeling sorry for this over privileged buffoon?!

OhhCarolina · 04/11/2020 23:54

Trump is a woman now?

That must have hurt.

If not, why are you referencing what a rhetorical woman might or might not have said?

slashlover · 04/11/2020 23:55

The one that closed borders to China trying to stop infections at an early stage?

He closed the borders to China nine days after the first country did it, after 40 something others did so previously and one month after China announced the outbreak. The disease was already in the USA at that point and local transmission had been reported. People were still allowed to fly in from China if the were US citizens and flights from other countries were allowed in with no restrictions or quarantine (even if the country had cases.)

Sceptre86 · 04/11/2020 23:56

If I was set to inherit millions if not billions of dollars as trump's child I could probably overlook his shortcoming too. Have you not heard the remarks he has made about Ivanka or his other daughter? Who cares if he loves his own children when he doesn't give a toss about anyone else's?

The man (if you can call him that) is a waste of space.

Dan1980 · 04/11/2020 23:56
@Dan1980

Can you provide an actual eg of racism

Are you suggesting that he hasn’t been sued for racism?
Doesnt matter if he has been sued or not, a reporter was recently investigated by the CPS for having an interviewee saying a racist comment and the insinuation was he should have been a fortune teller predicting the future of the interview

. The false cries of racism are endemic in this silly society when it doesn't exist destroying actual cases and their credibility. Winston Churchill was described as a " racist " with screams to tear his statue down, doesn't make it true

SabrinaThwaite · 04/11/2020 23:57

@Dan1980

Hahahahaha

Nice try sonny.

so are you saying then that countries with worse death rates than the states have leaders that should be viewed as murderers like Trump or is it just Trump that gets the abuse because he once stated in private " he wants to grab a woman by her p*ssy"?
Thelnebriati · 04/11/2020 23:58

Trump campaigned so hard for this election because he subscribes to Paula White's teachings - if you believe in something hard enough you can make it happen, using the God given power of your mind.

It explains the way he talks when he makes speeches. He believes he is making those things happen when he is very, very emphatic.

Peridot2020 · 04/11/2020 23:59

Ivanka, is that you?

Rumbletumbleinmytummy · 04/11/2020 23:59

I've had my mind wander in a similar direction a few times today, but I can't feel any empathy for him,
His stance on immigration, his racism, the misogyny, the 200,000 that have died in his country because of a pandemic that he refused to handle, his comments about his own daughters, the fact that he acts like a spoilt toddler when hes running one of the largest countries in the world, all make me feel like I wont mind seeing him fall apart, and he will because he has failed monumentally in public. He will only realise when he is no longer president.

The world will be a better place.

Also using hunter Bidens addiction issues as a stick to beat his dad with, whilst the US is having the issues they are currently dealing with, shows trump to be a disgusting human being

because you're using double standards to attack someone you dislike not applying the same goal posts to everyone
thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 05/11/2020 00:00

Read my previous posts Dan, we're not talking about other women, men, cats, or capybaras, this is a thread about Trump. But you have fun wasting your time with whattaboutery, gotchas and downplaying.

Misbeehived · 05/11/2020 00:00

WTF?

nofriendsatll · 05/11/2020 00:01

Seriously. This is a joke post? Yes?

prowlingbrooms · 05/11/2020 00:02

I have never felt less sorry for someone.

Dan1980 · 05/11/2020 00:02

What do the initials in the OPs vote question stand for? I suspect there won't be many votes on one of the options lol

slashlover · 05/11/2020 00:02

so are you saying then that countries with worse death rates than the states have leaders that should be viewed as murderers like Trump or is it just Trump that gets the abuse because he once stated in private " he wants to grab a woman by her pssy"?*

I was merely refuting the claim you made that he shut the border to china early.

Ive already said, I thought it was a crude and crass comment if you are referring to the p*ssy comment but I also think as he has apologised the vitriol towards him is disproportional.
Dan1980 · 05/11/2020 00:05

If we are to apply the bar of misogyny by the letter of the law than a man saying to another man in a pub " I'd love to f*ck her " would be deemed misogynist.

SabrinaThwaite · 05/11/2020 00:06

Just in case we have any concerns over the extent of Trump’s racism:
