@Delphinium20 I have a mild stutter too so that is interesting.

(not american but have an american BIL who is military and loves Trump)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/11/2020 08:58

I suspected that he would do something like this.

He's not going to leave the Whitehouse quietly - there is too much at stake for him.

Like Irisheyes, I can't believe that so many people continue to support him after the way he has behaved.

Roussette · 04/11/2020 08:59

At least Twitter is censoring Trump's tweets. Misleading misinformation saying 'they' are trying to steal the Election.

All sides lawyering up ready for a fight.

I may be way off here, but having just googled to see what this Supreme Court business about, I imagine Trump is actually referring to existing actions (appeals from State supreme courts) about state mailin ballotting laws in Pennsylvania and North Carolina that are outstanding / still to be heard. It’s a known issue which is why they are keeping late received PA votes separate - there’s an article in the Guardian here.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/oct/28/pennsylvania-elections-ballot-extension-supreme-court

I’m not sure why this isn’t being mentioned. Trump’s strange tweet referred to votes not being able to be cast (not counted) after polling day.

"The Black and Latino vote for Trump has been unprecedented."

See, things like this. Why? Why would they vote for someone who foments racism and clearly actively does them down and encourages White Supremacy? Why would you do that to yourself?*

Latin people will find these comments very racist. Like when Biden said a Black is not Black if it votes for Trump.

AcornAutumn · 04/11/2020 09:00

I’m so confused

Surely it’s not over till it’s over? Now is the time for both candidates to have a very long rest?! I remember one election result taking forever in the past.

BruceAndNosh · 04/11/2020 09:08

There have been scares about voter fraud where dead people "have voted"
But a deceased candidate has actually won a place in state legislature in North Dakota
www.politico.com/news/2020/11/04/gop-state-legislature-candidate-in-north-dakota-who-died-of-covid-wins-election-433998

ChickOnAStick · 04/11/2020 09:11

So, Trump will win Wisconsin, Penn, GA and NC?

That's enough, right?

No intention of racism whatsoever, I understand why whites vote for Trump, clearly, but fail to see his attraction for people who are not white. Although @MorrisZapp has doubtless hit the nail on the head - the single issue of abortion for very religious, Evangelical voters, will take precedence over anything else.
BruceAndNosh · 04/11/2020 09:13

Ah, so that new security fence was to keep Trump in not keep protesters out

BefuddledPerson · 04/11/2020 09:15

Placemarking. At least it makes a change from clicking wildly around the NYT coverage Grin

BruceAndNosh · 04/11/2020 09:16
  • the single issue of abortion for very religious, Evangelical voters, will take precedence over anything else
And the worst thing is that Trump's ProLife stance is a political one, not a moral one. He has been clearly Pro Choice before he entered the political arena
the80sweregreat · 04/11/2020 09:16

Place marking.
A few states left to declare then.

blueangel19 · 04/11/2020 09:18

May be a Latin person can decide if he finds the comments racist. It is documented find out for yourself.

TokyoSushi · 04/11/2020 09:20

Thanks for the new thread, another tired person here! Now I've thought about it and got over the initial horror, I do think that there's a very real prospect that Biden could still win.

Of course as you've all said the issue is that it's close enough for Trump to call fraud, and if he actually has lost how the hell they'll get him out of the White House I have no idea.

I'm surprised, that I'm surprised, that this is playing out the way it was always going to, and Trump is acting exactly as the big baby he is.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 04/11/2020 09:20

PMK.
What a nightmare.

AcornAutumn · 04/11/2020 09:20

“ I understand why whites vote for Trump, clearly, but fail to see his attraction for people who are not white.”

I’m not white, nor American, so happily I didn’t ha e to make a choice.

But Biden and others saying stuff like “if you vote Trump you ain’t black” sends a chill through me. That’s taking us back to a very ugly place. I don’t want to go near that. It actually scares me. What next - segregation for “my” good?

InglouriousBasterd · 04/11/2020 09:23

This. I wonder how many abortions the president has financed personally?
Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 04/11/2020 09:23

Nothing to see, @blueangel19.

Roussette · 04/11/2020 09:23

But Leannb the economy is only a small part of what being the POTUS is all about.
It's not just the economy, to him it may be... that's why americans are dying in record numbers.

Yes, it's not an impossibility
and IF he does, the civil unrest will be horrendous.

OP posts:
Roussette · 04/11/2020 09:27

Acorn that was the stupidest thing Biden has said beyond doubt. I imagine he regrets it immensely.

But
it was one horrendous faux pas on the part of Biden. What about the thousands of wrong things Trump says .... because Trump is Trump we seem to indulge him, we let him off, the lows get lower etc

which state is next to declare?

LarkDescending · 04/11/2020 09:30

Wisconsin looks likely to have a result sooner rather than later.

blueangel19 · 04/11/2020 09:31

Roussette the problem is that Biden is supposed not to be racist Lol
