I am not understanding this at all. So Biden has the most votes ever recorded for a Presidential candidate, but there is still doubt that he is the President? Sumfing wrong (with this system), Shirley?

What has happened?

The number of votes for both candidates at historical highs due to turnout.

They'll have to wait or recount until the usps mail catches up if it makes a difference to the result or looks as though it may as in Georgia. It's an absolute abomination.

200 000 ballots remain to be counted in Georgia.
Trump's lead is roughly 100 000

Trying very hard to stay calm in this Midwest house.
It is very tense.
City is boarded up.
Hoping desperately that other Midwest states will join us in the blue corner.

The usps ballots aren't so much lost as delayed is my understanding so far.

If Biden has won Wisconsin and Michigan, which he appears to have, I make that 264 I think? What else does he need to win or will it all come down to Pennsylvania? Nevada is a possibility but still not many votes counted...

My Twitter feed seems to be very confident that Biden has it now. God I hope they're right.

They are finding Biden votes all over the place — in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. So bad for our Country!

So Biden has won Wisconsin by 20K votes. Guardian is reporting that the elections commissioner administrator for WI said on NBC news that all the ballots have been counted.

Biden can now get to 270 with either Michigan and Pennsylvania, or with Michigan and Nevada.

Trump needs Pennsylvania plus 3 other states, or 5 other states if he loses Pennsylvania. Again this is the Guardian summing up the situation.

I wonder what sort of state Trump will leave the White House in?
I expect to see Sharpie spectacles drawn on all the portraits.

Actually there WAS mail fraud . The USPS was sabotaged to make it less likely that ballots would arrive in time to be counted

His lawyers haven't found their way to the Supreme Court yet

It's been pointed out by people who understand the process better than Trump that he can't just go straight to SCOTUS. Any legal challenges have to be presented at State level first

Just over 100,000 votes remain to be counted in Michigan: Biden currently ahead by just over 31,000. Expectation is that he will retain this lead.
