DH is doing some calculations on this.
We have the possibility that neither candidate can get 270 needed to win. And we also have the possibility of faithless electors coming into play.
It could be a real possibility on his calculations (though he thinks Biden might get it by the skin of his teeth - but that raises questions of how that will play out with Trump too)
So I guess we should be considering what is supposed to happen if neither do get 270.
In the unlikely event that President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden become locked in a 269-269 tie, the House will break it, with each state delegation getting one vote, according to 270 to Win, a nonpartisan political website that projects elections.
“If neither candidate gets a majority of the 538 electoral votes, the election for President is decided in the House of Representatives, with each state delegation having one vote. A majority of states (26) is needed to win. Senators would elect the Vice-President, with each Senator having a vote. A majority of Senators (51) is needed to win,” the website states.
As it stands the democrats are on 180 seats to 171 seats in the House of Representatives. They need 218 to win.
I believe the Democrats are on track to win the House.
HOWEVER, experts were saying prior to today a 269/269 situation would most likely favour Trump...
HOWEVER
He does THINK Biden has scrapped it on the basis of whats still to come in...
