Does anyone else find adults on the swings ridiculous?

Can't really explain why but I find parents who go on the swings at the park so annoying. Just been to the park with my child and the swings are six swings on a wooden frame all facing each other like in a circle.
Extremely annoying dad on the swings going as high as possibly can and nearly kicking all the other kids feet every time he goes into the circle. Like why would anyone feel the need to do that. Especially when other kids have to wait a turn. Don't mind being told I'm miserable but I just find it ridiculous grown man acting like that, that is all.

I went on the swings on my 40th birthday. Playgrounds and the Co-op were the only things open to brighten up yet another bloody walk before a zoom party.

Get on the swing, run to the beach when the sea comes into view, kick up leaves in the park. My dad collapsed and died of a brain haemorrhage, life is too short

I love going on swings - but not at the expense of making a child wait that's very unreasonable.

If the park is nice and empty though I'll be first on the swing - but if a chiild comes in wanting to use it I'll be stright off again.

Don't worry, you'll be old soon

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 08/04/2021 22:15

Every park should have a playground for adults! Easter Grin

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 08/04/2021 22:15

You sound like a fun sponge OP

Why on earth has this thread been revived?

Natty13 · 08/04/2021 22:17

I'm sorry for your sudden loss xx

Completely agree with your point. My prim and proper "Miss Manners" granny always came on the swings with me and I was thrilled. It's honestly one of my fondest memories of my childhood. Life is too damn short, have fun and laugh til your belly hurts whenever you can.

ZOOMBIIE 👻

I love the swings and I'm 54. I don't care if I'm ridiculous

toocold54 · 08/04/2021 22:25

Didn’t see the date of the thread! Angry

Vursayles · 08/04/2021 22:45

I’d be over the moon to comfortably fit in a kid’s swing right now tbh. If by some miracle I ever manage to lose the baby weight I’ll be having a go! Not in a busy playground with lots of kids wanting a go, that’s not really fair.

stayathomer · 08/04/2021 22:47

I'd only ever go on if I was sure there was absolutely nobody about and only went for the first time since children a few years ago. OP you as re missing out!! Get thee to a swing!!!!!

ThisMammaCat · 08/04/2021 22:48

I'm 37 and I go on the swings! (Not during covid though) but if a kid approaches, or even looks over like they want to swing, I will get out of the way. Smile

Great advice. Big huge hugsFlowers

Silversun83 · 08/04/2021 23:11

I love going on softplay and trampolines but now I'm old, swings make me incredibly dizzy so sadly have to avoid Sad

Meatshake · 09/04/2021 00:18

I hate boring people who rag on others with their narrow minded views of what is acceptable "adult" behaviour.

Booooooring. Privet Drive is that way.
