Do you just wipe it or spray a bit of Dettol on it or something else?

I use anti bac wipes.

PablosHoney · 18/09/2020 17:46

I don’t

ZarasHouse · 18/09/2020 17:46

I use multi purpose anti bacterial spray and a micro fibre cloth at home.
When out I resort to wipes

Givemeaisland · 18/09/2020 17:47

@PablosHoney

Why? Do you not worry about it having covid on it or anything?

OP posts:
Ranunculi · 18/09/2020 17:48

I put alcohol hand gel on mine and it made the £30 screen protector peel off. So now I don’t clean it at all. It isn’t designed to be cleaned regularly.

Emmelina · 18/09/2020 17:49

Usually an extra little splodge of hand gel rubbed over with a napkin. It has a screen protector on and is pretty old anyway so not concerned about damage or anything! If it’s good enough for hands it’s good enough for a non-porous surface :)

Boom45 · 18/09/2020 17:49

I dont very often to be honest. If I think of it I use an anti-bac wipe now and again. Probably a but grim...
If you're worried about Covid then the latest research shows it doesnt really live on surfaces if that helps? I've never really worried about that because no one other than me touches my phone but if yours is passed around or whatever it's more important to wash your own hands regularly than clean surfaces

Ranunculi · 18/09/2020 17:50

Do you not worry about it having covid on it or anything?
Yes but what can I do about it? It’s not able to be cleaned. I just wash my hands before touching it.

Givemeaisland · 18/09/2020 17:50

@Ranunculi

Why don't you clean it now? Do you not worry about covid on it?

I never have. But I like living life on the edge.

Cupcakegirl13 · 18/09/2020 17:50

Anti bac wipe or spray of anti bac on kitchen roll and a quick wipe - nowhere near regularly though 😬

PablosHoney · 18/09/2020 17:50

Nope, no one else uses it and I wash my hands/sanitise regularly so no.

Ranunculi · 18/09/2020 17:51

Ranunculi Why don't you clean it now?
Because I can’t afford to keep wasting £30 on replacement screen protectors.

Twickerhun · 18/09/2020 17:51

Intend to focus on washing my hands and not touching my face.

LionLily · 18/09/2020 17:51

Either anti bacwipe
Or in Tesco car park, after I've returned the trolley I tend to sploosh the gel around - hands, vape, phone, handbag straps and bottom (handbag, not my own bottom 😮).

Givemeaisland · 18/09/2020 17:51

@Boom45

So it doesn't live on surfaces?? Only I touch my phone too.

OP posts:
Twickerhun · 18/09/2020 17:51

I tend. Damn auto correct

viccat · 18/09/2020 17:52

I do what they showed on BBC News at the height of lockdown - damp kitchen towel (paper) and antibac handsoap, and then clean the soap off with more damp kitchen towel. My phone case is plastic so that gets washed under running water with soap.

I don't particularly worry about getting covid from my phone actually because I think the chance of there being enough virus particles on it is extremely small - even if I had touched something else with virus particles and then touched my phone. I just like to clean it every few days because I know I touch it a lot in general.

TimeForLunch · 18/09/2020 17:52

Window cleaner is good for cleaning the screen. Comes up nice and shiny. No idea if it gets rid of Covid but can't say having Covid on my phone is a concern!

MoistMolly · 18/09/2020 17:52

I lick it clean

ameliajoan · 18/09/2020 17:52

Nope, I also don’t clean it. There’s no need.

AlrightTreacle · 18/09/2020 17:53

I spray a bit of dettol on kitchen roll and wipe mine when I get in from work (in a hospital so plenty of germs about). I used to clean it weekly or so, now it's daily.

Heard alcohol gel/wipes can wreck the screen.

Givemeaisland · 18/09/2020 17:53

@ameliajoan

Why is their no need?

OP posts:
Twickerhun · 18/09/2020 17:53

Well it can live on surfaces. but unless the surfaces were coughed all over by some one with COVID, then you touch or lick that surface quickly after, then touch your eye/ mouth /nose it’s unlikely that you’ll pick up enough viral load to make you sick.
