(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

@LunaNorth tbf I don't really know how anyone can leave a dog to a shelter unless it's really the last possible option. Given how many dogs there are in shelters, I don't think it's the case and I do think a lot of people get dogs without thinking about it very hard. The reality of buying a dog is that most don't come from decent breeders. But I do think the shelters should make it somewhat easier to adopt and that people should be required to train their dog to a reasonable standard.

Not what I’d do, either. I have four dogs and love the bones of them.

But I’ve seen people with perfectly valid reasons for rehoming, and who are clearly gutted about it, get ripped to shreds on MN.

No need for it.

It's not enough to pay people who come to work in your home a fair wage and put out a kettle, milk, tea and coffee, a coolbox of water, tell them where the lav is and crack on with your day, they'll bad mouth you, get you blacklisted and you're a crashing snob for not offering a full English in the morning, filled rolls at lunch, a 'selection' of biscuits . . .

Years & years ago it was considered child abuse on here & that you must be from a rough area, thick & a benefit scrounger if you ever gave your DC a fruit shoot or a Greggs sausage roll or a packet of crisps.

But on the other hand if you bought pre cut fruit or gave your DC an avocado or olives then you were rich, showing off your wealth & being a snob.

God knows what on Earth some of those MNetters make of me as DC have & will eat all of the food mentioned previously. DC's favourite food at the moment is chorizo, prawn cocktail crisps, mango, cherries & Double Deckers/Wispas oh & don't forget the cucumber. DC also drink water & shock horror Coke.

The mind boggles ConfusedGrin

And DC love Gregg's sausage rolls washed down with fresh orange juice or water 😂

When I was new I put a question about my new baby sons foreskin being too tight in the wrong chat area and got torn to shreds for being a paedo instead of being directed to the right area. I understand now but at the times I genuinely didn’t understand what I’d done wrong and it never occurred to me that pervs use the site to get kicks 😱

I once posted a lighthearted thread saying how lovely it was to watch my gangly teenaged boy tucking into a huge bowl of weetabix only an hour after a huge pasta dinner and how it gave me a warm glow of motherhood. I got so lambasted that MNHQ had to step in. Apparently I was sexist (because it was DS not DD and if it had been DD I would have been despairing because she'd get fat); that I was abusing my son because I fed him pasta as a main meal (apparently MEAT !!!); I was encouraging an eating disorder.; he'd end up huge and fat (he's a bean pole); and I was making food a weapon. Hilarious.

Sometimes people have started a thread "what is the worst thing that's ever happened to you?", presumably intended as light hearted. The replies are usually very hostile, before the thread is deleted, usually with a message about being "in bad taste".
