(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

The current ‘should I flush sea monkeys’ thread has reminded me of a poster who went off on one at me as I didn’t see the harm in letting my kids use a piñata, apparently it’s tantamount to telling them it’s ok to beat animals to death.

iklboo · 08/07/2020 20:08

@PablosHoney 😂😂😂

drspouse · 08/07/2020 20:28

Is it all right if the pinata is pinata shaped not donkey shaped?

PablosHoney · 08/07/2020 20:29

I think it’s ok but no mythical creatures.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/07/2020 20:36

@Soubriquet

You get both extremes of the scale on here

“Ahh. If I get it, I get.”
“I can’t even go into my garden! I won’t risk it!”

Yes, just as in real life.

There's a brilliant thread at the moment where a mum is asking on help of what to do with some Sea Monkeys that were bought as a gift.

So many people furious about animal cruelty 😂

My fave reply was:
"It doesn’t matter a damn whether you chose it to be your pet or not, you treat them as equal or you shush."

Classic 😄

PablosHoney · 08/07/2020 21:56

That was my comment 😁 I feel famous, seriously though the hypocrisy on there is gobsmacking

ScrambledSmegs · 08/07/2020 22:00

Someone on that sea monkeys thread posted

This is the quality hysteria I come to Mumsnet for

It's an amazing thread Grin

PablosHoney · 08/07/2020 22:02

It’s brilliant isn’t it 😁

FelicityBeedle · 08/07/2020 22:15

I also came to talk about the sea monkey thread Grin

Mammatino · 08/07/2020 22:17

Someone else suggested advertising on Facebook for a good home. It’s my favourite thread ever.

lemondrizzlehedgehog · 08/07/2020 22:20

A poster replied to her own zombie thread that has been resurrected? Ha ha lol

That thread must have been ancient if she had forgotten she'd posted it.

PablosHoney · 08/07/2020 22:21

Give your sea monkey to a new home where they will get the live and affection they deserve 😀

FelicityBeedle · 08/07/2020 22:22

Tbf I would offer them to a friend probably first, if no takers it’s the toilet for shrimpies

I have a friend who hates pinatas for that reason. She says it is encouraging children to beat donkeys! I am a huge animal lover myself and I normally love my friend's huge heart for animals but I think she needs a chill pill on this pinata thing.

Take them to Blackpool- they will like their new home in the sea. If not, they at least get to enjoy the Pleasure Beach.
PickACoolUserName · 08/07/2020 22:26

I posted a light hearted rant about my husband's fussiness when it came to a loaf of bread and got told I was clearly abusive and should leave my husband as I obviously didn't love him. All i did was make him a sandwich with brown bread as we'd run out of white.

PablosHoney · 08/07/2020 22:30

Wow @PickACoolUserName 😄 I shouldn’t laugh but that’s nuts!

SunshineCake · 08/07/2020 22:30

@OhhhPeee

Someone had accidentally sent their Tesco delivery to their old address. It was an 11pm delivery, OP had been round at about midnight and no one answered the door. Tesco customer services were closed, due to it being the early hours of the morning.

The OP was advised to:
Phone the police and report that the occupants had stolen her shopping (she didn’t even know if they’d taken in the shopping).
Go back to the house and bang on the door until someone answered.
Go back first thing in the morning and refuse to leave until someone answered the door.

It was absolutely mental.

What happened in the end ?
TJ17 · 08/07/2020 22:54

Haha hello to all my fellow sea monkey abusers 👍🏻😂❤️

lemondrizzlehedgehog · 08/07/2020 23:08

@AnnieMaul

I find the way some react to other peoples name choices or suggestions OTT.

There's expressing a genuine opinion or saying you don't like a particular name, which is one thing. There's giving feedback such as you don't think it goes well with another name. But I find the "it's absolutely vile" "please don't call your child that" (and similar) all weirdly over the top and unnecessarily nasty. And usually they're not even particularly barmy names Confused

Except Balonz maybe. Nobody likes the name Balonz. Except the OP of that thread, obviously.
lemondrizzlehedgehog · 08/07/2020 23:12

@OhhhPeee @SunshineCake I want to know the ending too.

But am I barmy and histrionic myself, because to me option 3 seems entirely reasonable? Obviously callling the police is batshite, and the second option only valid if the shopping contained very urgent item(s) but 3 actually sounds reasonable.

Unless... OP's original adress was miles away or she moved away from there decades ago

Zooforhouse · 08/07/2020 23:57

Apparently I should rehome my ‘dangerous dog’ as he barked a bit more than normal at the beginning of lockdown.....

Lorddenning1 · 08/07/2020 23:58

@Zooforhouse your obviously abusing your dog, maybe it's time you found him a home that will love him, you sound very controlling 🙄

BadLad · 09/07/2020 00:02

On a thread criticising Theresa May's performance as Prime Minister someone posted WTF? Isn't Gordon Brown the PM?

Cameron's term as PM, the Brexit debate and referendum had apparently gone over this poster's head.
