(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 30/06/2020 17:40

“I’ve inherited a house with sitting tenants. Teach me how to be a landlord”

“Oh my god OP how selfish are you. You should just GIVE them the house”

Pogmella · 30/06/2020 17:42

LTB. Generally over some minor dispute. He loads the dishwasher wrong is all about him not valuing your time and will doubtless spiral into abuse...

Soubriquet · 30/06/2020 17:43

Or even

“There is someone squatting in my shed! How do I get them gone!”

“Don’t be so mean. You should invite him in for a cup of tea and talk it over.
Maybe even let him stay with you till he gets back on his feet”

MandosHatHair · 30/06/2020 17:43

Wasn't there a thread once where an OP was told to give her house to someone?

That one was crazy, I really felt for that OP.

More recently the OP being given a bollocking for loving her child more than her dog Hmm

ClattyPat · 30/06/2020 17:44

@MalcomTuckerisMyIdol I just asked my husband and he says you're wrong.

0blio · 30/06/2020 17:46

I still say well woof to you lady internally if someone is getting on my wick. Grin

So do I, it makes no sense but cracks me up!

The most nonsensical responses I've seen were when a poster was having problems with tenants and wanted them to leave was told she ought to give them the flat!

Another poster was being constantly hassled by her male neighbour who wouldn't stop talking to her over the fence and she got no peace. She was told she ought to be more friendly and offer him a cup of tea!

0blio · 30/06/2020 17:47

I can see my typing is far too slow and others got there before me (and probably remember the details better than I do).

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 17:48

@ClattyPat I logged your comments with 101 just in case they escalate. (And woof to your dh too).

iklboo · 30/06/2020 17:52

The poster who told the OP who was being constantly sexually assaulted by her husband that is 'what men do' and accused her of being a prude.

ShebaShimmyShake · 30/06/2020 17:56

Oh oh, I remember. A thread about cake smash photo shoots. Obviously it wasn't enough just to have people say why they liked or didn't like them. Instead, comparisons to the Hunger Games and accusations of scatological fetishes. Utter insanity.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/06/2020 17:58
@EineReiseDurchDieZeit it can come on tnr most innocuous of threads too - like tell me about a funny interview “well my husband died just after an interview so sorry if I don’t find these responses funny”

Or “how should I cook an artichoke” - “I had an allergic reaction to one once and almost died - sorry to bring a downer”.
Yes! Like what the fuck does that have to do with anything.

Also at the moment COVID Vigilantes

Someone posts about an issue were they met someone somewhere all very bland

COVID Stasi :

HOW DARE YOU! IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU

UmbrellaHat · 30/06/2020 18:07

Love this thread -thanks OP!

MrsGrindah · 30/06/2020 18:13

Quite recently I commented on the OPs behaviour..which I disagreed with..and another poster said “ I don’t think Mumsnet is for you” . So one dissenting comment and somebody else feels perfectly entitled to tell you you can’t play in their gang anymore!

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 18:13

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit or the passive aggressive “I assume you’re not in the UK as you’d be breaking lockdown”.

OP posts:
MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 18:14

@MrsGrindah ah but it could have been worse... you could have been told Nethuns in that way >>

OP posts:
Bootsuit · 30/06/2020 18:17

The one where a nurse chanced her arm and asked a local business if they felt like donating some produce to the ward. People called for her head! Phone PALS, tell her manager, go to the board of directors etc etc. Rather than the OP just saying, no sorry, can't help.

I'll also never forget when some poor pregnant woman got purposely knocked over by someone on a mobility scooter, whilst walking on the pavement because she was listening to music and didn't hear the person on the scooter telling her to move. The amount of people saying it was OPs fault that she got rammed because she dared to walk slowly and have head phones in.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/06/2020 18:19

"I assume you aren't in the UK" followed by Hmm also happens if someone posts about spending the day with their child in term time or posts about their child being in school in August even though the Scottish kids start in August and not every child is in standard schooling.

Changeofsceneryisgood · 30/06/2020 18:26

There was one where the OP said her husband got the hump about doing housework.
The very first response:

I'm sorry OP, you are being abused. Pack and prepare to leave.

Lots of other posters were Confused and someone said it was an over the top response.

AlexCabot · 30/06/2020 18:26

Wasn't there a thread where the op had been shouted at by another woman on the school run and someone advised her to give shouty woman a creme egg?

Changeofsceneryisgood · 30/06/2020 18:30

Also, lots of 'incandescent with rage' responses (especially during lockdown)

HollowTalk · 30/06/2020 18:35

I remember being in shock when someone posted about helium balloons and the first poster went berserk, saying there was a world shortage of helium and the Op was killing us all

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 18:37

@Changeofsceneryisgood crying and shaking is the new incandescent with rage.
A football came into my garden - now I’m crying and shaking/incandescent with rage

OP posts:
MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 18:38

@HollowTalk oh I love a random first response. Totally throws a thread off balance though.

OP posts:
Peterspigeons · 30/06/2020 18:39

Recently one where the OP was saying she couldn't go back to work because of childcare as her elderly parents usually looked after her children. Some posters said just leave the DC at home it will only be a few hours until you return as they will be at school all day 😦

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 18:39

@Changeofsceneryisgood oh and the opposite “I’ve finally snapped at dp after him not picking his socks off the bathroom floor for three weeks”

Op you sound very controlling
