(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

There was a thread where someone's grandad was about to cut grandchildren off or similar ott action because they didn't send thank you cards, If I remember correctly. I think they thanked him over the phone.

@pictish and @Strugglingtodomybest secret cool wives Handshake. One day we’ll be proved wrong and come crawling back here in tears. Or not.

I got called a "cool wife" once when I said I couldn't give a shit if my husband went on a stag do/strip club.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 04/07/2020 17:43

May I join the cool wife club?
I sometimes don't even know where my DH is😂

pictish · 04/07/2020 17:52

AIBU to think my dh should ditch all his friends, pastimes, give up socialising, stop spending time with his family and defer to me in all things now that we’re married with children?

Yanbu - he has to realise he has his own little family now and that you’re in charge of all of it. Selfish manchild.

Hang on, that seems a bit harsh. I don’t mind my husband having a night out.

Oh here we go...here come the cool wives.

PablosHoney · 04/07/2020 17:53

Fuck that shit that you would somehow be culpable if your husband cheated because you ‘let him’ have female friends etc, it’s right that if it’s going to happen those aren’t the things that would stop it.

topoftheshops · 04/07/2020 17:57

NoWordForFluffy · 04/07/2020 18:05

Does anybody’s child only drink water; really???

Yep, my DS, who's 6 this month. We've bloody tried to get him to drink other things (squash, juice etc), but nope. Not a chance! Strange child! 😂

Northernsoullover · 04/07/2020 18:08

@Rewis I gave a Spanish acquaintance a congratulations on passing your driving test card. She looked quite bemused Blush

pictish · 04/07/2020 18:09

My two younger ones really only drink milk or water. They are 11 and 12. I don’t expect it will last but certainly for the time being, that’s the truth. They will drink fruit juice if that’s all there is...but given the choice, milk or water.

Zhampagne · 04/07/2020 18:31

My DC genuinely only drink milk and water, which is a pita at parties if there’s only juice. Asking for water makes me feel like one of the MN judgy water crew. They like the idea of smoothies, milkshakes, juices etc when they see other children having them and we’ll buy them one but they have one taste and remember that they don’t like them Hmm

pictish · 04/07/2020 18:33

I used to sneak off to the kitchen with a party cup for water from the tap in case anyone thought I was a wanker! Grin

MrsAvocet · 04/07/2020 18:59

My husband only drinks water. It makes things a bit awkward at times. People arecakways trying to get him to drink other things. When we visit someone the conversation usually goes...
Tea or coffee?
Just a glass of water please.
We've got orange juice..
No, really, water is fine.
How about apple juice? Or we might have a can of coke?
That's very kind of you, but honestly I like water.
And so on, for varying lengths of time until they give up or I step in and tell them he's weird and to just give him the water please. I think he's been known to tell people that its his religion on occasion, just to get a glass of water.Grin
So yes, such people do exist. Our middle child is similar. He will drink juice on occasion but actually prefers water. None of us drinks milk.

riotlady · 04/07/2020 19:00

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but the recent one where a single mum of a 9 month old baby wanted to claim universal credit so she could study to become a social worker- one of the first posts told her it was a criminal offence and there were a bunch of others claiming she was sponging off the tax payer!

Oh and all the ones where the posters have had half a baked potato for lunch and therefore couldn’t possibly have any dinner...

iklboo · 04/07/2020 19:08

I saw that one @riotlady - not only hysterically frothy but totally wrong. 'You'll go to prison and how will that be a better life for your daughter' (paraphrased).

pictish · 04/07/2020 19:14

There’s one running at the moment whereby the OP is fed up with her mil coming round all the time and persisting at the door when she doesn’t answer.
One poster has suggested anonymously phoning the police and pretending to be a neighbour concerned about a strange woman trying the door and looking through windows at OP’s house, thinking the cops will turn up and the mil will be so shamed she’ll stop going round. Or something.

Anyway yes...so that was good advice.

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 19:27

And anyone who ever had any issue ever should immediately seek counselling.

And anyone who has a strained relationship with a parent/partner/friend the offending person is automatically diagnosed as a narcissist.

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 19:28

Also, any child (or even adult for that matter) who has any kind of difficult behaviour “has he/she been assessed for ASD?”

AlternativePerspective · 04/07/2020 19:30

Oh and, To anyone struggling with infertility, “you could always adopt.”

SchrodingersImmigrant · 04/07/2020 19:31

Whoever's kids only drink water and milk, it will change when they realise vodka is nicer with other stuff😂

ResumetonormalASAP · 04/07/2020 19:32

Lots recently with Covid.

The ones where the beaches had people on them and some were shouting murder.

The general ranting at anyone who actually risk assessed rather than ranted about the virus killing everyone.

I also agree with some above. The ridiculous ill thought out reasons of why people smack children - smack them to teach them that they shouldn't hit others takes the biscuit

SchrodingersImmigrant · 04/07/2020 19:33

Oh and, To anyone struggling with infertility, “you could always adopt.” a dog from a shelter

Not joking. Saw that after someone pointed out how difficult adoption can be. It was couple of years ago

ResumetonormalASAP · 04/07/2020 19:34

Whenever someone posts

'you sound like you are on glue'

What a stupid response - I imagine the person posting that is a right twat.

rayoflightboy · 04/07/2020 19:48

LTB threads and its usually over mundane things.
I do often wonder do they really leave them,or lead the posters on a merry dance and then just name change and never be heard from again.

ShebaShimmyShake · 04/07/2020 19:53

The way the world and his wife are actual diagnosable cases of Narcissistic Personality Disorder is really, really tiresome. Some people are so determined that their MIL or ex or whatever must have NPD that they take great offence at the idea that this person's shittiness might have a different cause. Perhaps a different disorder or just the very common SPS (shit person syndrome). It HAS to be NPD and God help anyone who suggests that it's statistically much, much more likely to be something else.
