My vagina stinks

I can't live with it anymore, it smells horrible even 2 minutes after showering. I don't use soap down there and I don't have an STI. I have been treated for thrush and no change.

It's worse in the hot weather but I'm feeling self conscious all the time. I can smell it when I'm sitting down on the sofa. People say it's normal to have an odour but when does it become abnormal?

I can't even describe the smell - it isn't fishy but it's unpleasant Sad

I'm certainly going to be looking at people a bit weird next time I'm on the beach 😂

DateLoaf · 12/05/2020 01:00

Wash the vagina. Don't wash the vagina. Don't not wash the vagina, but definitely wash the vagina. Actually just wash around the vagina, and Stay Alert!

it is normal to be able to smell your vagina while sitting down

If you live in a skip.

Mummyshark2019 · 12/05/2020 01:11

You do need to use soap or shower gel to wash down there or you will smell. Just don't go right inside the vagina.

ducksback · 12/05/2020 01:12

Haven yes and? The guidance says that you need to WASH! Your vagina is not your vulva...

ducksback · 12/05/2020 01:13

Haven apologies - I think you were trying to show me that whoever wrote this does not know the difference. Sorry - tired!

Itstimeslikethesewegiveandgive · 12/05/2020 01:13

It’s not unpleasant though, more a sort of thick musky meaty smell
Urm. Since when was a thick, musky meaty vagina smell hovering in a bathroom NOT unpleasant.

WonderWomanBra · 12/05/2020 01:13

@DateLoaf😂😂😂😂

She smells sea shells by the sea shore

copperoliver · 12/05/2020 02:04

Once this is over talk to your go too, I watched a programme once and a lady had this it was some sort of imbalance.
Also certain foods she ate made it worse. X

OneEndStreet · 12/05/2020 02:07

Also is it definitely your vagina?

It's hardly likely to be her neighbours vagina is it?

OneEndStreet · 12/05/2020 02:29

I've never in my life had thrush, BV or any irritation or smell down there.

Cost me a shit load to get rid of the irritation down there. Was there for years.

Nothing a good divorce solicitor couldn't handle,thankfully.

FancyPants20 · 12/05/2020 07:28

@OneEndStreet Judging by some of the replies on this thread, it might well be. Grin

JoeExoticsEyebrowRing · 12/05/2020 09:14

I can smell mine if I nip back into the bathroom shortly after I’ve had a wee to change the toilet rolls or whatever. It’s not unpleasant though, more a sort of thick musky meaty smell

Sweet Jesus.

So @roombafan72 you think the Royal College of Gynaecologists advice that I linked to upthread is wrong?

UnabashedlyNeurodifferent · 12/05/2020 09:23

It's amusing how some people will use any name or random sound other than what it is actually called. What is it - embarrassment (what for?) or just prefer the sound of anything else except 'vagina" or 'vulva'? Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 12/05/2020 09:26

Drs wont give you swabs at the moment so what I did was order BV testing swab strips from Amazon and tested myself.I rang the drs the following day asking for antibiotics and they gave me them.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 12/05/2020 09:26

There is a colour chart and if the swab turns blue green/blue then you have BV

Cyrilsneer14 · 12/05/2020 09:32

i always use soap never had thrush in my life or bv for a matter of fact. Please start using soap its not normal to be able to smell it from any where never mind sitting down

Justnot · 12/05/2020 09:45

I suffered loads with thrush and cystitis when I was younger - settled on washing gently around area, not inside, with dove soap - really gentle and not drying, weleda do a nice soap as well - obvs need to get on top of the BV or whatever it is first
