My vagina stinks

I can't live with it anymore, it smells horrible even 2 minutes after showering. I don't use soap down there and I don't have an STI. I have been treated for thrush and no change.

It's worse in the hot weather but I'm feeling self conscious all the time. I can smell it when I'm sitting down on the sofa. People say it's normal to have an odour but when does it become abnormal?

I can't even describe the smell - it isn't fishy but it's unpleasant Sad

Healthy and clean vaginas have a very faint sea-shell aroma
If this isn't a folk song, it should be.

Napoleon specifically asked Josephine not to bath for two weeks before he came home. Some people really are attracted to stench Shock

I'm a plain water gal, anything else = itching and smelliness.

so, far too invested in this but because of this thread I did an experiment and washed with just water !

then I had an indepth rummage and to see if it had actually cleaned all the crevices(sorry) properly.. - it did not..

so had to rewashed with the non scented soap as per usual. The sweat/old skin cells etc are made up of an oily substance, so u really do need a soap substance to break that down. Confused

Did you just use your hands and splash water?

This thread has really made me laugh but also I can’t help wondering if it’s like when you go into someone’s house who has dogs and they can’t smell it as it’s their house, but anyone without a dog knows the smell...nothing against dogs...anyway, off to wash behind my ears

@Firefly2, yes, people do get nose-bind and it's not just houses with dogs, cats and smokers, everyone's home smells like them.

I'm not necessarily talking about BO as, unless you always have it, most people can smell their own BO and then wash. Ergo if you think you never have BO and still think this after not washing for a few days then you're one of the nose-blind.

Everyone has their own personal smell. It's a combination of their breath, their skin, their hair. Think of animal skin. Dogs have a bitter predator smell. Horses a sweet herbivore smell.

Your home is not just affected by personal smells either but by what you eat and cook. Garlic affects how your breath and skin smell (though the person themselves is nose-blind) and I've found it takes days before I don't smell fenugreek in my house if I've cooked with it.

You need to wash your fanny with soap. Just don't go inside the hole with it. But everything else in the area needs to be cleaned with soap. You will small like a fish market if not.

@Justwanttotravel

Thank you so much for posting about boric acid!!

For anyone else who is unsure about going to the doctor if they have BV try boric acid. I’ve been using it 2 days and it’s already working!

@Toppingpoint I remember reading about boric acid (but on forums, not from any medical source) and rejecting it on the basis of being unsure about sticking acid from the Internet up there 😬
