My vagina stinks

I can't live with it anymore, it smells horrible even 2 minutes after showering. I don't use soap down there and I don't have an STI. I have been treated for thrush and no change.

It's worse in the hot weather but I'm feeling self conscious all the time. I can smell it when I'm sitting down on the sofa. People say it's normal to have an odour but when does it become abnormal?

I can't even describe the smell - it isn't fishy but it's unpleasant Sad

Look if you have a bath every day and make surette water gets to your inner labia, and or run a shower on that area for a few moments while opening it up as it were, it will be fine. The Hydromol I suggested is just a gorgeous treat and also super-cleans.

Of course a completely clean vulva smells perfectly nice. It absolutely shouldn't have perfumed anything anywhere near it.

And anyhow perfume would not taste nice!

woolyrab · 14/05/2020 11:11

This thread is just playing into womens insecurities about how they smell down there. And it's from other women.Sad.

Many women know when they smell unpleasant, it's not about insecurity at all. It's about not wanting to smell unpleasant, not about what other people or partners think of that.

ponchek · 14/05/2020 11:12

I always thought the fishy smell was when other girls had their period at boarding school 😳 not joking. And I think that cane from vaginal, vulva, everywhere 🤭

SerenDippitty · 14/05/2020 11:22

Many women know when they smell unpleasant,

Yes they do. But women who use just water and say they don’t smell have been told oh yes you do you just don’t notice it.

woolyrab · 14/05/2020 11:32

I don't accept that just water removes the traces and associated smell of sweat, urine, blood and faeces. Then again, if a pp says that a vulva should smell of seashells, maybe to the water-only users the smell of those body fluids is perfectly acceptable and normal and so not in their view, a smell.

A few posters have mentioned faeces. There really shouldn’t be any feaces in or on your vulva - certainly not enough ‘traces’ of it to create some kind of bad smell Confused before reaching for the femfresh some people may benifit from learning how to wipe properly front to back. Perhaps that’s the crux of the ‘unpleasant smell’ problem for some.

SerenDippitty · 14/05/2020 11:51

You shouldn’t smell of urine either if you wipe thoroughly enough after peeing.

I’m post menopausal so no blood to worry about,

Aryaneedle · 14/05/2020 11:53

I didn't have any issues with a smelly fanny until I changed partner.

Whenever I have sex now, even if I wash after, my partner's sperm makes me stink especially if it's been left inside me (which to be frank there is always some residue left behind no matter how hard I try). I have treated it over and over again with metronidazole for BV but have reached the conclusion that my ph level mixed with his sperm = smell.

Never get a smell down there unless we have sex (which we do often because he is really hot and I can't stop myself). Sometimes bodily fluids just do not mix well. Chemistry Grin

blueskys72 · 14/05/2020 11:57

I'm having the same problem after a hot bath two nights ago (bloody knew it would trigger BV Confused)

Has anyone used the pessaries in the daytime rather than just bedtime? Or will it just trickle out all day long?

HariboLectar · 14/05/2020 12:00

Thanks @ClientQ & @ponchek Smile

F0RESTGRUMP · 14/05/2020 12:10

Honestly I feel for the sexual partners of some of the non- soap washers on here. Oral sex must be a real ordeal.

Like pulling a cold cheese toastie apart 🤮

Aryaneedle · 14/05/2020 12:13

Forest I had to get into the pee then wash before sex routine due to recurrent UTI'S. To be fair there are plenty of male partners out there that need to get into the same routine if we are talking cheese Wink

FerneGreene · 14/05/2020 12:18

I wash with soap normally however. When I had an op "down there" I was advised water only. I was also rinsing with water every time I peed. I didn't smell, which suprised me tbh Smile

Bigearringsbigsmile · 14/05/2020 13:23

@Aryaneedle.....condoms are the answer surely?

locomoco19 · 14/05/2020 13:34

Sorry to be stupid. What's vaginal probiotics? Am thinking yogurt lol yeah kill me. Is it a medicine ?

Rebelwithallthecause · 14/05/2020 13:38

It’s a pessary

Balance activ is a brand of probiotic pessary

Lovely and fresh as a daisy if I’ve ever needed to use them before

woolyrab · 14/05/2020 14:40

There really shouldn’t be any feaces in or on your vulva -

There can be on your underwear no matter how carefully and correctly you wipe.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 14/05/2020 15:14

Like pulling a cold cheese toastie apart 🤮

This is just a fucking nasty thing to say.

aFaintSeashellAroma · 14/05/2020 15:25

Like pulling a cold cheese toastie apart no neeeeed

Baskininthegarden · 14/05/2020 15:53

I used love to love cheese toasties Sad

ducksback · 14/05/2020 16:17

Just dropped in to say...in a sea of posts offering stiff competition, the Koala wins the thread.

F0RESTGRUMP · 14/05/2020 19:36

Oh calm down it’s a SAYING.

I think everyone has their own smells and people smell things in different ways! I have smelt men in public who have BO to my nose but they have partners etc so clearly they can't smell it

ponchek · 15/05/2020 09:05

Don't you think that the ones who don't wash probably don't find their partners diving disk there much if at all? Surely it would put them off??

If I were presented with a rancid version of the male equivalent, I'm sure my jaws would clamp shut involuntarily!! I mean, occasionally encountering a hint of urine is probably unavoidable, and certainly to be forgiven, especially if frequent spontaneous blowjobs are involved. However, an entrenched lack of hygiene would not be tolerated. Or anything resembling CHEESE!!!! 😱🤐
