Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

Its the best thing on Mumsnet imo and it never gets old - Suzi Quatros's Fat Nan comes a very close second.

Bigfatpicnic · 11/05/2020 13:43

@Thelnebriati-oh yes, the Suzi Quatro line was gold, as was the Lionel Blair jacket comment. It was on the reality v expectation thread. I’ve linked below.

This thread has made my week.

For everyone who liked the Wankee Candles thread, this one is similar...there is a photo on a small link from the OP, half way down page 2:

chilling19 · 12/05/2020 20:26

From the expectations v reality thread:

'Imbought a floral loose dress from Cath Kidston. My DH said I looked like I should be pushing a drip stand up a hospital corridor.'

JamMakingWannaBe · 12/05/2020 22:12

A recent one in response to an OP looking for feedback on the name Echo.

"Your baby, your choice choice choice"

This thread by TantrumsAndBalloons was funny and adorable. It's my fav after the EKL. I like happy endingsGrin

cstaff · 13/05/2020 11:17

@USirName
That thread from Tantrums about minding a 3 year old for a weekend just had me in tears. Absolutely hilarious Grin. I wonder what the little girl is like 7 years later.

AprilJune · 13/05/2020 11:39

I’m amazed that thread has so many fans - it’s struck me as 80% made-up bollocks 😁

PinkDaydreams · 13/05/2020 12:35

I liked the reply on the Hugo thread where op has asked what Hugo is short for and someone has replied ‘Hugggggooooooooooo’. I know it’s a silly reply but it really tickled me!

purplecorkheart · 13/05/2020 12:54

I loved the reponse in the anal bleaching thread where someone replied to be careful not to leave the bleach on too long or they would end up with a polo mint. I howled reading that

Doh, I meant to copy and paste that on an up to date thread!! As you were 😅

peak2021 · 14/02/2021 10:17

Nothing beats the responses to the penis beaker thread.

Justkeeprollingalong · 14/02/2021 10:35

@onedaysoonish was that the same thread where someone didn't leave their washing out over night because she didn't want the spiders rubbing their willies on her things? 🕷😂

Justkeeprollingalong · 14/02/2021 10:37

Sorry cross posted with @Spacecudet
🕷

Justkeeprollingalong · 14/02/2021 10:38

Also just noticed this is a very old thread. Sorry. I'll shut up now 🤦🏻‍♀️

FuriousWithTheNHS · 14/02/2021 10:58

The poster who asked a question about a certain pushchair, then responded to herself years down the line with a recommendation; and the following poster who saiid "you do know you've answered your own post, right?" 🤣

That was hilarious. God, practically the dark ages.

Kitewoman · 14/02/2021 10:59

I found MN via the penis beaker thread and some of the responses there were just hilarious.

DoItYourselfNeverHappensAtOurs · 14/02/2021 11:11

@MarthasGinYard

Someone once asked ....what should We wear to a swingers club?

Reply 'tracksuits fashioned from pampas grass'

Still makes me chuckle

Oh I think i read that one and one of the answers was along the lines of; 'who cares. You are just going to come home looking like a plasterer's radio'. I was on holiday with my parents and tried to avoid explaining exactly what I was laughing at.
FuriousWithTheNHS · 14/02/2021 11:21

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but there was once a very odd poster who mentioned in amongst some big drama or other that she'd made her DC a 'hamwidge'

Someone said 'what the hell is a'hamwidge?' and the OP type back

Bread
Ham
Bread

Grin
rc22 · 14/02/2021 11:22

Please don't apologise @Justkeeprollingalong. I hadn't seen this thread before and it's lifted me more than anything else in this lockdown. I've only made it to the third page and my ribs hurt too much to carry on. I thought the badger on the sett menu was the funniest thing I'd ever seen until I got to the Hugo thread. Hugoslavia!!Grin

karala · 14/02/2021 11:41

@CokeEnStock

I AM Canadian!!!
I came on to say the very same thing -still makes me howl today
DoItYourselfNeverHappensAtOurs · 14/02/2021 11:43

I adored the Elderly Korean Lady thread and occasionally re-read it when feeling a little low. It was like a meditative practice.

OlympicProcrastinator · 14/02/2021 11:58

When the OP was complaining about being told off by a security guard for nicking a 5p bag. Some of the responses were so hysterical and frothy. One poster was effing and blinding about ‘thieves’ ‘criminals’ and ‘society full of cunts who didn’t think the effing rules applied to them’ etc etc on and on. Someone just replied:

“Smelling salts dear?”

Justkeeprollingalong · 14/02/2021 12:09

@rc22
