To ask- What’s the funniest response you’ve seen to a post on Mumsnet?

Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

Its the best thing on Mumsnet imo and it never gets old - Suzi Quatros's Fat Nan comes a very close second.

That thread from Tantrums about minding a 3 year old for a weekend just had me in tears. Absolutely hilarious . I wonder what the little girl is like 7 years later.

I liked the reply on the Hugo thread where op has asked what Hugo is short for and someone has replied ‘Hugggggooooooooooo’. I know it’s a silly reply but it really tickled me!

I loved the reponse in the anal bleaching thread where someone replied to be careful not to leave the bleach on too long or they would end up with a polo mint. I howled reading that

Nothing beats the responses to the penis beaker thread.

Oh I think i read that one and one of the answers was along the lines of; 'who cares. You are just going to come home looking like a plasterer's radio'. I was on holiday with my parents and tried to avoid explaining exactly what I was laughing at.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but there was once a very odd poster who mentioned in amongst some big drama or other that she'd made her DC a 'hamwidge'

Please don't apologise @Justkeeprollingalong. I hadn't seen this thread before and it's lifted me more than anything else in this lockdown. I've only made it to the third page and my ribs hurt too much to carry on. I thought the badger on the sett menu was the funniest thing I'd ever seen until I got to the Hugo thread. Hugoslavia!!

I adored the Elderly Korean Lady thread and occasionally re-read it when feeling a little low. It was like a meditative practice.

When the OP was complaining about being told off by a security guard for nicking a 5p bag. Some of the responses were so hysterical and frothy. One poster was effing and blinding about ‘thieves’ ‘criminals’ and ‘society full of cunts who didn’t think the effing rules applied to them’ etc etc on and on. Someone just replied:

“Smelling salts dear?”
