Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

It was The Cunting Pigeon for me - it's years old now, but someone had an old colonel type living next door who was fond of gin and his shotgun but hated the pigeons

So he sat on his veranda and it went something like "Slurp - BOOM - cackle" and the whole thread was decorated with "Coooo, coooo, COOOOs"
Silly, I know, but it just appealed to me

That’s a brilliant thread😁

I’m constantly sniggering over in Telly Addicts. It makes Gogglebox seem like Parliamentary question time.
@Iamthewombat and @SheldonesqueIsUnwell are both hilarious.

I always laugh at Iamthewobats dry sense of humour in *A ‘source’ speaks exclusively to The Sun about Dawn’s daughter’s convenient relationship reveal....

The highlights are the photos matches.Nick and Royston from Real Housewives of Cheshire and The Riddliers.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 14/02/2021 13:47

@Meredithgrey1

I read one on a thread about crazy things you did with your PFB where someone told a story about how they had heard abut how the baby should be in one layer more than you. And midway through a walk they'd realised the baby was in the same number of layers as them, so had taken off their own coat. Makes me laugh whenever I remember it.
I knew someone would beat me to that one-still makes me laugh!!!
SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 14/02/2021 13:51

Bless you winter

I think there is a fine line between hilarious and gobshite and I love that you think I was on the ‘naice* side.

I feel I am up to my chin s in gobshiteryness mostly.

Anyway. Ta - you have made a very hard day a little brighter 🥰

JovialNickname · 14/02/2021 13:52

Thank you for this thread, it's well needed!

My favourites were a thread where a poster's parent's dog jumped up and bit her in the face, and she still called it DDog

And on the relationships board where people reply to "is he cheating" posts with "sniff his cock when he comes home". As a SERIOUS REPLY not a pisstake. For some reason that really tickles me.

austenwildfell · 14/02/2021 13:53

Has anyone mentioned the thread about celebrating the last breastfeed day?

I can't find it. MNHQ tried to dump it but then realised it was so comical.
One woman said that she expressed and saved some the very last milk to use in the son's wedding cake.
It was vey good, up to the point where the OP came back and said that she was serious because she was from another culture where they did have a family party to celebrate. Oops!

Oooohbehave · 14/02/2021 14:05

I can't remember what the thread was about but a poster asked the OP if she always answered a question with another question 'like a fucking wizard'. Still makes me chuckle.

Whythesadface · 14/02/2021 14:08

I can't believe I actually got to say this.

I knock on a door, I had a delivery for them.

Wife, Are we expecting anyone?
Husband. I'm not expecting anyone?
Both shout out . Hey kids are we expecting anyone?
Wife opens the Door...
ME...'Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!'

The parents are laughing so hard, they are lent against the walls, tears rolling down their faces,.

3 Children appear and look very demoused.
Husband says he will show them the video.

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 14/02/2021 14:42

A post years ago from a new mum when talking about her PFB days, saying she'd gotten her baby ready to go for a walk in the middle of winter and as they were leaving she realised she was wearing the same number of layers as the baby so she took her coat off and went on the walk without it.

I don't know why but it makes me cry laughing.

DoItAfraid · 14/02/2021 15:02

Yesterday on a Wifework thread someone said "cards don't come out of vaginas" and that cracked me up.

GreyFrenchique · 14/02/2021 15:13

A woman posted asking for help with budgeting of some sort and listed her expenditures so MNers could suggest she makes changes.

In her list of monthly outgoings she wrote SALT (which is short hand for speech and language therapy) ..price around £100.

A well meaning poster enquired why she needs to spend so much on salt and reminded her that you can buy epsam salts for a few quid in most supermarkets.

I lost it.

I have a strange sense of humour.

What's the other thread?

Meanwhile, I still remember a thread about "manlooking" and one poster who wrote that they had told their family that vaginas are not a homing device for lost items.

I ended up using that on my ex and DC.

Mrsmadevans · 14/02/2021 15:27

The MNetter who said her post-birth vag looked like a punched lasagne. I still Grin every time I think of it.
Thing is though you can just see it can't you ! Grin

Thecazelets · 14/02/2021 15:42

Never actually read the penis beaker thread before today, although aware of its fame. Absolutely crying with laughter. Just tried to read this bit out to dh and couldn't get through the sentence:

That must be sexy. You do it then spring apart, you rush to the bathroom and he plunges his knob into a bucket.

That and

Even if you have an acid fanjo and his sperm is nine tenths itching powder, surely you can use the bathroom at the same time? You can wash your fanjo in the bath and he can scrub his cock in the sink.

Actual tears rolling down my face. I just love mumsnet.

This is the one I meant to post on and us also worth a look (though there are a lot of repeats) I’m glad this one is giving everyone a much needed laugh though.
