Fuck that shit.

My DC are like pigs in muck right now, constant ‘pants days’ with unlimited screen time. They’re living the dream.

LilacTree1 · 04/04/2020 20:45

Thanks OP

I will make sure I’m not out running at this time because it would give me the rage of people stopped in the street to do this.

FFS.

Smell “ Fuck that shit.

Cross post, this made me LOL, thank you!

Sorry everyone I'm just practising. Can anyone help me with the words?

Ethelfleda · 04/04/2020 20:48

I’m glad this thread was started though because some of these replies are golden.... I like the one about Brexit Grin

Siameasy · 04/04/2020 20:48

My DD is having the time of her life. 100% attention. Me not so much.

gordongopherthe3rd · 04/04/2020 20:49

Reach for the gin

LilacTree1 · 04/04/2020 20:49

And who chose S Club 7?

Jeez. It’s the extroverts who come up with this noisy shit is it?

I’ll start a crowdfunder for them to have soundproof rooms where they can do this.

MouthBreathingRage · 04/04/2020 20:49

This pandemic is sadly bringing out the worst in people

Nah, the worst of people were the ones who voted in droves for a party that has been happily decimating the NHS over 10 years. Then voted Brexit to get rid of most of its staff. Now those people have become hypocrites by insisting that we need to give the same NHS they've systematically destroyed a good round of applause every week, because it's not a political thing and everyone else is the problem for being miserable, cynical bastards. So let's just keep clapping our problems away! Can I have a clap for managing to shoehorn a Brexit mention on a happy-clappy thread?

Are you kidding me, kids are having the time of their lives right now!

Crafting1Queen · 04/04/2020 20:49

What a load of Clap Trap, ffs, they way it's going there's not going to be a minute in the day we'll not be out clapping for something or someone. Can we just cut to the chase and start clapping for the clappers? Let's make it a Tuesday, don't think that slot has been acquired yet.

CLAP FOR THE CLAPPERS WOOHOO

Smellbellina · 04/04/2020 20:49

I think the clap has been one of the things my daughter has looked forward to the most

🤣

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 04/04/2020 20:49

I think we need to be careful because clapping for everyone makes the clapping for the NHS (people who actually deserve applause) less significant.

Save the clapping for the worthy

macaroniandpizza · 04/04/2020 20:49

Im not a seal fs ill keep my clapping to an absolute total of hee haw. Just because i dont clap every thursday, shine a torch every friday or now every bloody sunday clap it does not mean i dont appreciate all that every key worker is doing for us or feel for the children that are missing their friends and teachers because i do. I just dont need to make a big show of it is all

Lex234 · 04/04/2020 20:50

Sorry but no.

Clap for people putting their life on the line, with the additional stresses of the availability of PPE/staff shortages/repeated loss of life-Yes, absolute heroes.

Clap for children, who in the most part (if anything like mine) have not changed their communication methods with friends, are enjoying the more relaxed learning environment and are behaving not altogether differently to school holidays?

No. Just no. Little Timmy does not require a clap for being kept safe indoors. It is making more drama out of the situation than is needed. Children are remarkably resilient.

PicsInRed · 04/04/2020 20:50

My hands are busy clapping for all the hard working squirrels that night.

This is stupid! Detracts from the real focus. Not supporting! I mean FFs!!!!

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 04/04/2020 20:52

@bobbityboop that's mental. And now I am trying to find out if muslims use halo for saints...

BlancheDuBlah · 04/04/2020 20:52

It's no wonder people in charge invented religion thousands of years ago to get us all to bow down and 'follow the rules'.

Look how susceptible so many are.

What Utter sheep.

Keep your free mind if you can.

DameLucy · 04/04/2020 20:53

Oh dear!! Come on!

Dontunderestimateme · 04/04/2020 20:53

What a lot of utter bollocks. I am very proud of DS, who is coping really well with all this, but TBH all he is being asked to do is hang out with his parents more than normal, and we aren't that bad. I am an emergency services worker, and up until now haven't had to work any harder than usual. Apart from people on the front line of the NHS, at the moment most of us don't have it too bad. I don't see the point in all this clapping.

DonKeyshot · 04/04/2020 20:54

I feel that if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say it at all

I feel that you haven't yet got your brain around mumsnet, OP.

'Tis a broad church where all are free to express their opinions, even if they are at variance to those of unthinking posters who jump on whatever bandwagon is available to demonstrate how nice they are.

'Niceness' often gets a drubbing here, to which my view is hallelujah, praise the lord for the realists among us.

TheMustressMhor · 04/04/2020 20:55

Oh my godfathers. I went to FB to have a look at Shine a Light for Coronavirus.

I have never come across anything more vomit-inducing.

What is wrong with people?
