Srslydontgiveacrap · 04/04/2020 21:45

I'm going to take a big shit at 3pm for all the little shits out there

ViciousJackdaw · 04/04/2020 21:45

When are we doing ‘farting for Fannies’

Queef for The Queen?

PeterFoggsTractor · 04/04/2020 21:45

I've just asked DH to clap for me. One clap. One bloody teeny weeny clap. Bastard. I mean Dave next door was banging on his saucepan on Thursday. Not even a teaspoon on a saucer from DH tonight.

Ethelfleda · 04/04/2020 21:46

Jadey I kinda wanna put my arm around you and say “welcome to mumsnet, and don’t worry - we aren’t that bad really Smile

We aren’t really laughing at you... we are just a very cynical and sarcastic bunch at times Flowers

CuppaZa · 04/04/2020 21:48

For fuck sake. Whoever is responsible needs a slap

sqirrelfriends · 04/04/2020 21:48

Urgh, what's next?

Kids are probably doing great handling this but they're not putting themselves in danger, working tirelessly to help people are they?

Neveranynamesleft · 04/04/2020 21:49

Yes we are laughing. A lot Grin

Kraejka · 04/04/2020 21:49

Fucking hell. I thought this was a joke then I realized it was serious.
For fuck's sake - little heroes? It's totally over the top. Kids have had to stay at home with their family and if posts from friends on facebook are anything to go by, having a fantastic time. It's probably competitive baking and craft making and all that jazz but still.
They haven't had to be evacuated to the country to families they don't know.

This clapping thing is ludicrous and has got completely out of hand. Once for NHS workers was a good idea but now all of this needs to stop. The calling others out on facebook and in whatsapp groups for clapping needs to stop. Coming up with random clapping ideas needs to stop as well. Clap for Boris. Clap for the kids. Clap because people across the country are trying so hard not to fart as much when in close confinement with their nearest and dearest.

gordongopherthe3rd · 04/04/2020 21:49

today is apparently National Children's Day but if that doesn't float your boat it is also National Hug a Newsperson day (that's going to go down well) and National Walk around things day (because they are all closed so we can't go in?)

Greenpop21 · 04/04/2020 21:50

No way am I doing that.

ClapForCats · 04/04/2020 21:50

Kids are probably doing great handling this but they're not putting themselves in danger, working tirelessly to help people are they?

Unlike cats.

I adjure and beseech you all to Clap For Cats at every possible opportunity.

roarfeckingroar · 04/04/2020 21:51

Jesus wept this is ridiculous

LoadOfOldTosh · 04/04/2020 21:51

I have been made aware of this thread and want to encourage you to clap for me and my friends every day.

We will be asleep when you do it so don't clap too loud.

While I have your attention please note that I do not like Felix Fish in Gravy any more, although it was the only thing I would eat when you bought the Whiskas.*

@ClapforCats* are you my cat?
Great post! 🐈😂😂

sqirrelfriends · 04/04/2020 21:51

I would be very willing to participate in a "bang your bongos for your bin-men". I think they'd rather enjoy it.

ChickLitLover · 04/04/2020 21:52

All slots are booked up now I think. It’s worse than trying to get a slot with Tesco’s at the moment.

joydivisionovengloves71 · 04/04/2020 21:54

*Urgh what's next??

Hmm

Just though I'll let you know
joydivisionovengloves71 · 04/04/2020 21:54

I was rolling my eyes at the picture not the quote !

Teabaseddiet · 04/04/2020 21:55

What a load of bollocks

lilmishap · 04/04/2020 21:56

At 3pm mine will be scrubbing the poorer neighbours kids with ajax and brillo though?

Should they not do that and clap instead?

Jaggerypokery · 04/04/2020 21:56

Good heavens we aren’t asking our kids to put on uniforms, take up arms and go fight for their country. We aren’t loading them onto knackered dinghies and sailing them out to sea in the desperate hope some country will take them in so they can escape civil war. We aren’t seeing them holed up in some godforsaken refugee camp or starving to death in Yemen.

All they have to do is some school work, hang out with their friends online instead of in the flesh for a while and if they’re little to play at home instead of elsewhere. It’s not a big ask in the scheme of things.

Doing some schoolwork round the dinner table, getting a lay in of a morning, watching more tv and playing mine craft at home is entirely do-able and does not require a bravery award or a round of applause.

OhhhPeee · 04/04/2020 21:58

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Seeitsortit · 04/04/2020 22:00

It feels as if the UK has a bad case if the clap.......

ALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 04/04/2020 22:01

Sorry you're getting a hard time OP, but just know it's not personal. Though to be fair I must admit I thought you were posting it to take the piss.

It's just all so terribly cringe inducing. As for the dance in your doorstep /shine a light Facebook thing. In my best Catherine Tates Nan voice, "Worra load of old shit"

It's the Huns behind it all. I blame the cover everything in glitter/terrible slogan t shirt/ babygrow / Live Love Laugh Huns brigade.

Kraejka · 04/04/2020 22:02

When's clap for cats on?
My little heroes are struggling under the strain of lying around on the sofa all day and watching the Tinykittens Livestream from Canada on my laptop.
