What food do you really fancy that you can’t get at the moment

I don’t know why, but I’ve been craving a doughnut since the lockdown started. I’ve only been shopping once and they didn’t have them in the supermarket. I can’t seem to order them online and it’s reaching an obsession! What food or meal are you desperate to have now you can’t get it?

A fried breakfast from a local garden centre .

Marmite27 · 31/03/2020 12:06

inwood · 31/03/2020 12:06

Butter.

Could only get Clover and it's vile.

pinkunicorn20 · 31/03/2020 12:07

isittheholidaysyet · 31/03/2020 12:08

Milk

Got to save the little we can get for the kids.
I love milk.

HappyDinosaur · 31/03/2020 12:09

Sainsburys had quiche in the other day. My mil was going to do a roast on Sunday, I'll miss that as she does a very good one.

Aposterhasnoname · 31/03/2020 12:10

A carvery. I can make myself a roast, but it’s just not the same.

SpratsOnParade · 31/03/2020 12:11

A good bag of wine/fruit gums. Preferably Morrisons or M&S. Maynards are ok but the texture is wrong.

Lsquiggles · 31/03/2020 12:11

An iced mocha from starbucks, so much so that I dreamt about it last night Grin

SpratsOnParade · 31/03/2020 12:13

Also a takeaway from my favourite Chinese takeaway. Preferably salt and chilli squid with noodles or kng pao chicken with fried rice.

BarkandCheese · 31/03/2020 12:14

Sushi. In general I like sushi but I don’t go out of my way for it, now I know I can’t get it it’s all I want. I think it’s compounded by most of our food now being hearty stick to your ribs stuff because that’s what works best with limited ingredients so I want the opposite, delicate, light exquisite little mouthfuls.

majesticallyawkward · 31/03/2020 12:14

All of it 😂 couldn't get any Yorkies or Cadbury caramel, donuts, good scones, cake and coffee from my favourite cafe, good chips, lurpak....

Can't even get flour to make my own baked goods 🥺 super first world problems

I’m craving bacon. I can get it, but I don’t eat pigs. I feel horrible for even thinking about it!

BanKittenHeels · 31/03/2020 12:19

I really fancy proper chip shop chips and curry sauce. I rarely eat them but I’m a craving them badly at the moment.

squishedgrapes · 31/03/2020 12:21

A cappocino and a proper thick milkshake.

squishedgrapes · 31/03/2020 12:21

And tea, lunch, dinner that ido t have to cook myself, and then clean the bloody mess I make

Cacaca · 31/03/2020 12:24

Malteasers - seems to be a chronic shortage

CastleCrasher · 31/03/2020 12:27

Anything I don't have to cook for myself (and the rest of the family). Top three probably are my favourite meal from local Japanese restaurant, takeaway Singapore fried rice and chili burrito from Mexican place in town.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 31/03/2020 12:28

Macaroni Cheese.

I can't believe that I turned my nose up at the bent macaroni (elbow pasta) three weeks ago because I only like the straight stuff.

lilyheather1 · 31/03/2020 12:28

Morrison's had loads of donuts when we went on Saturday lunchtime. We're SE though.

dottiedodah · 31/03/2020 12:30

Really looking forward to a good old Cod and Chips ,washed down by a Diet Coke from our local chippy ,that gives out wayyy too many chips (hooray) but has a queue out of the door on Friday nights! (Hoping they are still going after this of course ) .

MyDucksArentInARow · 31/03/2020 12:38

Jasmine Rice. We make a lot of coconut rice - like 2-3 times a week. We haven't been able to get Jasmine rice for 4 weeks. Don't know who is suddenly cooking but BAM all went in the huge stock piling saga. 5kg bags have trebled in price, or wholesalers we used to buy from are now (rightly) prioritizing the nhs/care homes to supply so aren't taking orders or have 2+ week lead times
