What food do you really fancy that you can’t get at the moment

I don’t know why, but I’ve been craving a doughnut since the lockdown started. I’ve only been shopping once and they didn’t have them in the supermarket. I can’t seem to order them online and it’s reaching an obsession! What food or meal are you desperate to have now you can’t get it?

@MyDucksArentInARow we used to get the Tilda one but the big 10kg bags. I've not even bothered to look. We live in the highlands so the delivery isn't the best. Microwave sachets have been the way forward the coconut rice ones are ok but I'm pretty sure they're all basmati.

@MyDucksArentInARow I only recently discovered jasmine rice, it’s delicious and I’m not a rice person.
Before all this stupid buying started I bought a small pack from asda and then everything disappeared.
I have I think 2 bags of Tilda everyday rice lurking in the cupboard and sad remains of basmati and arborio.
I’ll try to make coconut rice but only have Asda’s coconut milk with high %. Thanks for the recipe :)

@Gingerkittykat if you put the coke in a wide tupperware carton in the freezer and agitate with a fork every half an hour you should get something similar! I used to make G&T sorbet that way.

Bubble tea! Absolutely addicted

What’s your favourite brum - mine is white peach tea with lychee bubbles.

I really want fondant fancies now. The whole box!

Jam doughnuts from coop. I could eat an entire bag in about ten minutes right now.

Fish and chips

A glass of rosé. I've given up booze but I would love to be sitting in the sun outside our local with a cold glass of rosé.

Cottage cheese. Yes, honestly.

I would love cottage cheese too! I may even put up with the normal kind if it’s available. Usually it’s longley farm or nothing (and that’s not usually available anyway)

Praline Magnums. I can't stop thinking about them! Also, when we are out of this awful situation, a vanilla latte and a chocolate croissant, my once a month treat.

Anything that seems to need plain flour for me to make it 😡

Cinnamon buns. I tried it with strong bread flour but didn’t quite come out right and threw half of it away. Chocolate shortbread, quiche, both sweet and savoury pies.

I’ve been thinking about the shortbread all blooming day, ended up ordering a16kilo bag of flour that is due to arrive in 2 long weeks

Starbucks (yes I know!) mocha.
Ovaltine. I'm sure it's available, but I just haven't got any!

@hoxton, where did you order your flour and what kind? Bread or plain for cake baking?

Hazelnut latte. Why oh why didn't I get the coffee machine I've been planning to buy before this started?

Pasta, sausages, crisps, mac Donald's.
I probably could have these things, but trying to lose a couple of pounds and been eating lots of homemade cakes, so can't risk anymore calories!

I think I have worked out a fix.

I currently have a can of coke freezing in my blend active bottle and I will add some liquid coke and then blend.

Got to think outside the box during times of emergency.

Yaar quark bar. £1 a pop so not cheap but as soon as I can place an online delivery I'll get some. Oh and pikelets.

Flour for home baking (my husband is craving iced buns, I normally make them fresh) and for things like Yorkshire Puddings.

I’ve not been able to get any since this started.
