Which Beatle we fancy most in the 60's
Mini skirts and Mary Quant in S&B

Lean Cuisine meals in the 70's .

Black Tower or blue nun instead of gin brands.
Telly addicts would be about Crossroads and Morecambe and Wise not Eastenders and Ant &Dec.

KJT78 · 27/02/2020 23:25

Lean cuisine Grin

Tupperware parties!

AIBU or should my brother not be spending time lying dressed in the bath getting his jeans to go skinny while I need a wash?

Apparently that's what my uncle used to do!

GrumpyHoonMain · 27/02/2020 23:27

The merits of gin.

Sakura7 · 27/02/2020 23:30

AIBU to be worried that the world is about to get nuked?

KJT78 · 27/02/2020 23:38

@Sakura7 I think that's still relevant today, sadly

Is it worth hosting a Pippa Dee party?
How to make a black forest gateau?
Should Margaret Thatcher be allowed to stop children having milk at school?
Should we join the common market?

ErrolTheDragon · 27/02/2020 23:48

Mary Whitehouse and 'the permissive society'.

OTOH, Monty Python.

MatildaTheCat · 27/02/2020 23:56

AIBU to think my uncle has just wasted £10 on a ticket to Australia to start a new life?

AIBU to buy some old fashioned food for my children despite the wonderful advances made by Findus, Birdseye and the delicious drink, Rise and Shine, which is so very much nicer than fresh orange juice?

AIBU to think that raising the price of a bag of crisps from 2.5p a bag to 4p is daylight robbery?

AIBU to know that Donny is simply better than David?

All very real questions from my early years.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/02/2020 00:00

Is Vesta Chicken Curry cultural appropriation, if so what culture as nobody from the Indian sub-continent recognises it as food.

Ohyesiam · 28/02/2020 00:07

Brenter

ErrolTheDragon · 28/02/2020 00:29

AIBU to have grown pampas grass in my front garden? I think it looks exotic, why are neighbours looking askance at it?

AIBU to think 3 TV stations is a bit too much choice? And colour will surely never catch on, people all look too pink.

Leeds2 · 28/02/2020 00:33

MatildaTheCat. Rise and Shine was the absolute highlight of my primary school aged caravan holidays. Loved it!

ErrolTheDragon · 28/02/2020 00:42

The thing about rise and shine was that you could have a glassful of it whereas fresh orange juice meant about an inch squeezed out of one or two not very juicy oranges, using a glass lemon squeezer. (Or if you were rich, made from frozen Florida orange concentrate in little tubes).

Ginkypig · 28/02/2020 00:48

Iv got the chance to get an indoor toilet and fitted bathroom sweet should I or is it just a waste of space? And what will I do with the tin bath if I do go ahead?

Ginkypig · 28/02/2020 00:53

Not sweet! Bloody auto correct grrr.

KahlanRahl · 28/02/2020 00:55

AINU to think that asbestos tiles go best in our living room? They're cheap, come in different designs and easy to clean.

Lynda07 · 28/02/2020 00:58

11+ not that hard.

Lady Chatterley's Lover is a very romantic novel.

Sir Alec Douglas-Hume is radioactive!

Should I iron my hair to get rid of the waves?

My old shoes did two CND marches from High Wycombe to Trafalgar Square.

Does my duffle coat need cleaning?

Queuing all night for Beatles tickets was not comfortable.

Bob Dylan went electric, whatever next?

How far should I go with my boyfriend (if I have one) and will it hurt?

janemaster · 28/02/2020 01:07

What does everyone think of the women at Greenham Common?
Do you support women's lib?
Is Miss World sexist?
Why should we be paid less than men!
My SIL has asked her DP if he will let her get a little job. AIBU to think this is outrageous?

The feminism board would be very active. The 1970's was a key decade when lots of women got involved in feminist politics.

Also when comprehensives were introduced. So would be lots of threads from those who support them, and those against them.

janemaster · 28/02/2020 01:10

I have a book of problems sent into a woman's magazine in the 50's. There were lots of problems about extended family living together. From interfering parents/in laws, to those who were demanding and wanted everything their own way, to those who were manipulative.
In the 1950s after the bombing during the war, there was a real shortage of housing and so many extended families were forced to live together when they did not want to.

Daftodil · 28/02/2020 03:55

We get 6 kids in the back sitting on each other's laps and 2 in the boot. Aibu to think we don't need to get a bigger car?

Daftodil · 28/02/2020 04:00

House for sale in Notting Hill. Should I invest in such a rundown area and is £20k too much to spend on a 4 bedroom house?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/02/2020 08:48

Should Jimmy Savile get a OBE for all his charity work?
(Awarded in 1972)

Should I start smoking to help with my weight?
