I am 14 years old and I have just been catcalled by workmen along the road 'get your knickers off' 'ell darlin' etc etc

AIBU to be upset by this? My mum says you just have to ignore it.

FickleTickle · 28/02/2020 09:18

I'm in boarding school. AIBU to be living in fear that if nuclear war breaks out I will have to die with these mean nuns and fellow students?

I don't want to die but I really don't want to die with these people!

Should I continue using baby oil on my skin when sunbathing or just step up my sunbed sessions?

Should I get a perm, I am the only one in my class/village/country who does not have one.

KJT78 · 28/02/2020 09:26

@balonzz BUT it's a good thing! It means you are pretty and now have worth. A man has declared it so!

Having a new bathroom - should I go for the avocado or dusky pink suite?

ErrolTheDragon · 28/02/2020 09:39

Hard choice, spudlet. Whichever you decide, you could get a nice set of TumbleTwist mats (including loo seat cover, of course) in the other colour.

I'm getting a lot of lovely orange plastic accessories for my kitchen at the moment.

(I've still got my mother's 70s orange plastic jug, she gave it to me when I went to uni and now it's used for washing the dog)

BoucleEponine · 28/02/2020 09:40

AIBU to know that Donny is simply better than David?

YANBU Smile

AIBU to think that SIL is being precious about her DS getting the cane at school?

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 28/02/2020 09:41

Findus crispy pancakes - oven or grill? Not sure if these sneaked into the tail end of the seventies.
Do I need a hostess trolley?
Home made vol au vents - AIBU to use Campbell's condensed soup?

spongejack · 28/02/2020 09:42

Lean cuisine Grin

AIBU to ask my husband for more housekeeping money?

oohyoudevilyou · 28/02/2020 09:46

I want to use tampax so I can still do gymnastics during my period, but mum says I can't because I'm not married. AIBU to use them anyway?

My boyfriend wants to try heavy petting but I'm scared I'll get pregnant. AIBU to make him wait until we're engaged or will it the frustration harm him down below?

ErrolTheDragon · 28/02/2020 09:47

( Not sure if these sneaked into the tail end of the seventies. invented early 70s according to wikipedia).

Which leads me to my next question :
AIBU to think that a complete set of encyclopaedias would be a good investment for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren?

Spudlet · 28/02/2020 09:58

Ooooh, good shout Errol. I could get my crochet loo roll hiding dolly to match too, couldn’t I?

While we’re on the subject of home decor - AIBU to put artex onto every level surface of my house?

spongejack · 28/02/2020 10:11

AIBU to think the fray bentos pies are delicious?

AIBU my SIL does not put a dress on before my DB arrives home and sometimes she doesn't have his dinner ready? AIBU to speak to her about this, I know I'm not but just for validation.

spongejack · 28/02/2020 10:12

Some of these are brilliant!

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/02/2020 10:15

My DH hits me if I don't have his dinner ready and his slippers warning AIBU to tell
him I don't like it?

spongejack · 28/02/2020 10:21

@Pieceofpurplesky I think you're deliberately encouraging your DH to act that way, he has been to work and deserves to relax when home!

ipswichwitch · 28/02/2020 10:35

Overheard on the party line....

AIBU to think the fray bentos pies are delicious?

YANBU!

Now, can we talk about Tupperware?

Rosehip10 · 28/02/2020 10:42

60s careers advice (to DM)

AIBU that my careers mistress said that wanting to be a doctor is ridiculous. Nursing would offer the chance to meet and marry a nice middle class doctor, preferably a surgeon.....

squeaver · 28/02/2020 10:44

AIBU to say no to yet another invitation to a Tupperware party?

I want to have more children but my GP says 31 is too old to have any more and wants to put me on the pill (my mum's experience in 1971).

AIBU to give my kids half a valium each on Christmas Eve (my experience in the 70s).

Rosehip10 · 28/02/2020 10:46

How many bottles of blue nunn should I get for my suburban party?

ElinoristhenewEnid · 28/02/2020 10:46

To be annoyed that my dds secondary modern school has put a 3 inch heel and 1 inch sole limit on the height of her platform shoes? (Happened at my school and pupils campaigned against the limit)

wanderings · 28/02/2020 10:46

Should I be limiting screen time? My children are obsessed with Watch with Mother, and Bill and Ben, they might get square eyes. They also keep trying to speak like the posh woman who presents it.

Should I stop my children playing blind man's buff in the street, especially on Sundays? They might be trampled by a horse and cart, and they should value their sight; I don't think it's right that they should pretend to be blind when God gave them eyes to see with.

Also, should I stop them making friends with the children whose family don't go to church?

MadamBatty · 28/02/2020 10:50

AIBU to thump my neighbours kids...they’re being brats

Rosehip10 · 28/02/2020 10:52

Should we join/remain in the eec
