And would you do anything if you could completely get away with it?! Mine is my daughter’s swimming teacher, he has the sexiest smile and is so good with the kids. Totally gives me the flutters but I’m guessing he’s not into overweight bespectacled women in their forties! Grin

I wonder if men have Toms?

Allaboardthemagicbus2020 · 10/03/2020 00:22

Yes, but they are called 'Mollys'

Stuckandsadintheupsidedown · 10/03/2020 06:41

I love this thread 😁
As a certified bugger for crushes my latest is an electrician Tom.
He has come round twice to fix faulty plug socket in eds bedroom. The first time DCat supervised him closely and I could hear electric tom telling Cat how handsome he was. I joked that DCat would miss him once he left.
Electric Tom had to return the next day to finish job and when he arrived he produced a bag of dreamies for DCat for being a good helper yesterday 😍
Tom's arms are beautiful, tanned and hairy and he has salt and pepper hair and an amazing back.
I'm a goner.

Sweet jesus @Stuckandsadintheupsidedown a bag of dreamies from Mr Dreamy...

Stuckandsadintheupsidedown · 10/03/2020 09:41

@wizzywig considering pouring tea over remaining sockets, for DCat of course.

SuckingDieselFella · 10/03/2020 09:48

Do it! Dreamy electric Tom's don't come along very often.

Inappropriatefemale · 10/03/2020 09:50

The guy in my local coffee shop, he always has a twinkle in his eye when he serves me and mines twinkle back at him, we always have a bit of banter and when I went in the other day then he practically jumped to serve me. I keep wondering what he’s like in bedBlush...

Soapytoad · 10/03/2020 10:13

I get to see my Tom tomorrow, and I’m really looking forward to it. An hour in the company of a man who is patient, kind and gives me something that allows me to completely switch off and concentrate on really has become the highlight of my week. It’s definitely a huge form of therapy!

It’s been another horribly turbulent week with DH. He’s currently now sulking with me due to an ongoing issue of something that I won’t let him tell me what to do with, and he REALLY doesn’t like it. (I’ve actually ended up on ADs with anxiety because of his behaviour with this, and our whole situation in general. Sad)

Anyway, it’s not intended to be “woe is me” but rather how things like this can really throw positivity on a not do great situation, and how even the most impossible crushes can actually be pretty important.

SuckingDieselFella · 10/03/2020 11:16

Toms are more exciting than ADs and nicer to look at. Hope things improve for you.

SuckingDieselFella · 10/03/2020 11:26

I had a Starbucks barista Tom last year, an art student. Called me ' love' and 'darlin'. If it had been any of the other baristas I'd have reported them for sexism.

Allaboardthemagicbus2020 · 10/03/2020 14:07

We need a word to describe a group of atoms.

Like a ‘coterie’ of Toms.

Each woman should have a coterie with different Toms for different purposes.

So, feeling frustrated with doing everything practical around the house - you need #electricianTom.

Need a boost and nice smile? #waiterTom

Need a reminder your brain still works ? #TeacherTom

A Tom for all occasions. #RainydayTom

Suspect it is the answer to #lifesuccess

#wasthereasparkTom. [genius] Grin

Soapytoad · 10/03/2020 17:23

Thanks sucking Smile

I would like #TeacherTom to teach me 8hours a day 5 days a week. But I suspect that would be a little bit weird. Although I’d be very good at what I do with him!

Can’t wait til summer and he’s back in T-shirts again. Those hairy, hairy nerdy arms.

One day last summer I turned up and not only did he have on a T-shirt, BUT HE ALSO HAD ON SHORTS!

He really has no idea that I think he’s so cool. I aspire to have even an ounce of his incredible talent. His wife is soooooooooo lucky!

Inappropriatefemale · 10/03/2020 17:46

Just walked past my coffee shop guy with my hood up and he didn’t even bat his eyes my way...must be my hood..or he just flirts with most customers...

SuckingDieselFella · 10/03/2020 19:08

Oh dear lord, I have to give a presentation ASSESSED BY TOM. How on Earth do I do that? I won't be able to look at him.

TomPettysTopHat · 10/03/2020 20:04

@SuckingDieselFella that sounds absolutely hideous! But who knows, you could produce your best work under the pressure!

earlgreymarl · 10/03/2020 20:15

Yes a Tom for every occasion might help instead of #mastertom

earlgreymarl · 10/03/2020 20:18

@SuckingDieselFella THAT is kinda my worst nightmare and I would struggle in a situation with only a few people and a presentation to said Tom.

However a tip from other experience is do not look at him when you are speaking! I have risked this once and had a complete mind blank.

Do not look at him. He may look at you !

Soapytoad · 10/03/2020 20:30

I can’t ever look at #TeacherTom when I’m speaking. I always a void eye contact and can feel him looking at me so attentively! Then when he speaks I’m exactly the same. No issues looking at him then. Then there are those moments I’ve already mentioned when our eyes meet perhaps for just a fraction of a second more than “normal” and it’s enough to make me feel as though I’ve been struck by lightning. Such an awesome rush!

He on the other hand will probably be wondering if I’ve just got terrible eyesight.

SuckingDieselFella · 10/03/2020 20:47

I am not planning to look within a mile of him! And I've got a couple of weeks to practice aversion therapy. Need to stop having THOUGHTS about Tom. Kate at a Sure Start Centre will be my role model.

earlgreymarl · 10/03/2020 21:17

@sucking that's hilarious!

@Soapytoad totally know what you mean

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 10/03/2020 22:18

I’ve just caught up with this thread and would like to follow up that after binge watching all series of The Split and Fleabag whilst sick I am now about to read the book in bed that the academic crush with cunnilingus lips has recently written. Even his written words make me all hot and bothered, it’s like I can hear him reading it.

My boss crush is in overdrive too, but weirdly more manageable. We discussed my academic crush which everyone in my life basically knows about over a few bottles of wine. And because I am incapable of controlling my face when speaking of academic crush, boss crush is mercifully unaware of the one I have on him.

TomPettysTopHat · 10/03/2020 22:27

@MercedesDeMonteChristo The Split made me cry (a little too close to the bone IYSWIM)

Cunnilingus lips makes me think of Mads Mikkelsen Grin

CloakandDigger · 10/03/2020 22:46

Close to the bone?

wizzywig · 10/03/2020 22:46

@Soapytoad i get what you mean. When things are shit at home, any tom attention is gratefully recieved.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 10/03/2020 22:56

I cried too, for lots of reasons, but I’ve also dreamt about Christie/Christie-esque fantasies since I finished.
