And would you do anything if you could completely get away with it?! Mine is my daughter’s swimming teacher, he has the sexiest smile and is so good with the kids. Totally gives me the flutters but I’m guessing he’s not into overweight bespectacled women in their forties! Grin

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 16:24

Anyway, I am going to forget about my Tom and concentrate on the essay he set me.

Let's see how long that lasts.....

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 18:20

@SuckingDieselFella

Good luck with that!Grin

Darbs76 · 05/03/2020 18:24

@SuckingDieselFella - you’re right. I’m going to play it cool, see if Tom comes running. Might not even wash my hair before work. Though maybe that’s a step too far!

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 18:48

@Darbs76 Did you do the Kate at Sure Start thing?

If you would normally wash your hair before work, then keep doing it. Don't let Tom affect your routine in any way. I'm convinced that if you do anything with them in mind it sends out vibes. That's how they KNOW.

TomPettysTopHat · 05/03/2020 18:55

God you are so right. It really is like trying to approach a frightened deer isn't it?

Mine said hello to me today. But furtively. I think he knows I know he knows. It was a bit tense but I pictured myself shaking hands with some volunteers at a photo opportunity and I think it helped.

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 19:06

That's it, keep thinking WWKD.

Not the alcopop, but What Would Kate Do. She had to wait for a decade before her Tom put a ring on it. We should make her our patron saint.

And anyway, a furtive hello is pretty good! I bet for him it's the equivalent of getting down on one knee. It took me two years to get a furtive hello from my ex Tom. Current Tom says hello but only because he's at work. If I saw him in the street he might well hide or say nothing.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 19:16

Kate - Patron saint of the Royal Crush Grin

Very good advice on WWKD. I also agree that they pick up on the vibes. I personally think they created the internet to send out something to our brainwaves that makes us think of them (not barmy at all).

WWKD. My new mantra.

Oh and swishy hair is a must.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 19:18

I’m sure Prince William has started to smirk at Royal functions.

Kate, if you are on here please contribute. Sucking has got it bad.

Soapytoad · 05/03/2020 19:52

My money is on Kate’s Tom being Harry

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 19:56

Helping other women with their Toms is a distraction from my Tom. Smile

And Kate IS on here. She admitted to it a while ago.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 21:25

@SuckingDieselFella

Really????

Wow - shout out to Kate. We need help.

confessionagogo · 05/03/2020 21:25

I'm going to throw in a hashtag

#oldenoughtobemydadTom

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 21:31

@confessionagogo

You are not alone, there Confession

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 21:49

Yep, Kate said recently that she posts on mumsnet for parenting advice.

Kate, we need your man-snaring advice.

Another hashtag: toyboyTom Blush.

earlgreymarl · 05/03/2020 22:00

Hello everyone, hope everyone is having a tomtastic week .

I have done well this week, because I dodged Tom encounter / greeting twice, negated a fuller conversation by complaining about something that he then dashed off to sort and then ( accidentally) ignored him when he waved at me from his car at a fair distance.

So having got that out the way yesterday I could better entertain his across room greetings and close good-bye teemed with flirty wink. I know ! Only some people can carry this off.

So effectively I have a restrain and reward stealth thing going on as it is definitely bad of we were to always be seen as being together , you know in s group situation but I swear it just happens.

earlgreymarl · 05/03/2020 22:03

I also agree with @Asimovsfutureishere2020 and other posters, they definitely pick up on the vibes .

earlgreymarl · 05/03/2020 22:07

@anascrecca yy re good with your own kids. My Tom once dashed to pick up an old fellas walking stick and ruffled my son's hair and was nice to him on the same day. I was like swooooooon

Insideimsprinting · 05/03/2020 22:14

Yes and no I wouldn't do anything about it.
I just like to look theyre soooooo pretty....

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 05/03/2020 22:15

@earlgrey

Restrain and reward. I like that. Like a puppy.

Must try that out.

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 22:29

@earlgreymarl Are you saying you got your Tom's attention by ignoring him?

Honestly, they're like puppies.

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 22:30

Snap, @Asimovsfutureishere2020

Grin
confessionagogo · 05/03/2020 22:50

My husband has gone out for drinks with #oldenoughtobemydadTom (and others) tonight and I am jealous Grin

SuckingDieselFella · 05/03/2020 23:02

Ask him to take photos.

Say that you want to check the group for coronavirus so that hubby doesn't catch it.

earlgreymarl · 05/03/2020 23:13

@sucking he is quite responsive anyway, what I am trying to do is . . . What am I trying to do?. I suppose ween myself off or de-escalate or minimise chance of others noticing or being too nice?

Sometimes I just can't take it, and I see him at a distance and I'm like omg he is there right in the door ! And basically we probably look a bit too chuffed to see each other.

earlgreymarl · 05/03/2020 23:17

He is so traditionally manly though I love it . Manly man and so expressive. He has lovely hands. What a weird thing to say .
