And would you do anything if you could completely get away with it?! Mine is my daughter’s swimming teacher, he has the sexiest smile and is so good with the kids. Totally gives me the flutters but I’m guessing he’s not into overweight bespectacled women in their forties! Grin

Yes, my next door neighbour and a former colleague.

I'd probably go there if I was single with either of them. I'm sure they both know. Neighbour is 20 years older than me, colleague is 8 years younger (I'm 29).

@SuckingDieselFella

I think you have it quite bad, Sucking. Let me take your Tom off your hands.

Well, any other updates? My Tom is strangely invisible (-absolutely not avoiding me at all-)

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 19:32

You can't have my Tom. If yours has gone awol, remember that another one will be along soon.

Your Tom could be hiding for two reasons. Either he has it bad or he has an embarrassing health complaint.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 19:36

Sadly, I think it is the latter.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 19:40
Grin Diahorrea it is, then.

Remember that Toms don't appear when you are looking for them. Find a new Tom and the current one will come running. What about Tom1?

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 19:50

Ah yes, Tom 1 - not a peep.

Useless.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 19:53

They could be thinking about contacting you. If so, you'll hear from them in a few months.

My Tom is striking. They have an out of office thing on their e-mails when they strike so I can't even send him a link to Boden jumpers.

#militantTom Grin

A man of belief and pension concerns

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 20:39

Yeah but I'm not militant.

Could be a deal breaker.

GrannyBags · 03/03/2020 20:43

I’ve usually worked with female bosses and had massive crushes on the two men I worked for.
My current boss is my best friend’s husband - oddly enough I haven’t started crushing on him!

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 20:44

@Sucking

Difficult - on one hand you have a man prepared to stand up for his principles. That is a good thing.

However, you have to listen to them. A lot.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 20:53

He has never mentioned politics.

I hope it stays that way. Smile

Darbs76 · 03/03/2020 21:08

My Tom returned from 2wks off sick today. Was nice to see him. We had an ice breaker during a meeting and it was about what you’d take to a desert island. In the break I went over and asked him if he was better and he said that he had suggested in his pair that he wanted to take me and X colleague (female) to the desert island. I made a joke saying I’d have liked to have seen boss’s face if you’d said in public and he laughed. I then tried to speak to him 1-2-1 for a chat but his manager then appeared and then I didn’t see him when back in the office. So nice to see him back, still hard to read if he’s flirting or just joking around. I need to message him about something tomorrow work related - see if I can get him chatting!

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 21:17

Sounds promising, Darbs.

I would let him take the lead. If this thread is anything to go by, Toms run away if they think you're chasing them.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 21:23

Blimey, they are a delicate species. Am starting to lose respect for Toms in general.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 21:34

Mine can't run away. He is contractually obliged to teach me.

I think it's a good policy not to chase them though. Many of these Toms are geeks and they're easily startled.

earlgreymarl · 03/03/2020 21:49

#militantTom 😂
Love it. Mine is deffo a man of belief and pension concerns and possibly militant too.

Deffo forbidden Tom.

No updates. I have to plan on avoid. It is unlikely. Been at home today which is recovery from the last encounter.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 22:08

The problem is the easily startled then spend all of their spare time on reddit where they whip one another up into a frenzy of incompetence with women and try to outdo one another on the lack of basic social skills.

Need to set up a geek section of Mumsnet. Draw them in slowly by appealing to their skillset.

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 22:27

I can't see mine being lured to mumsnet. Or reddit either.

We'd have to use a front. A website about hobbits. Or Star Wars. Or Express Your Personality Through Socks.

For many of us, the ideal Tom is a teacher. Does reddit give any clue as to who a geek's ideal woman is?

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 22:41

Well, she won't be real, that's for sure. Probably Princess Leia meets Natalia from Avengers.

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 22:43

Now, where's the section on hairstyles and how I can learn how to double plait!

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 23:09

I can't compete with a fantasy princess.

#galaxyfarfarawayTom

Asimovsfutureishere2020 · 03/03/2020 23:11

Yes, because they would be interested in Tom #slightlymiltantwithquestionablewardrobe

SuckingDieselFella · 03/03/2020 23:13

😂 😂 😂

TomPettysTopHat · 03/03/2020 23:23

If this thread is anything to go by, Toms run away if they think you're chasing them Yes I think I've scared mine with what would constitute a very VERY vague show of interest by any normal person's standards. But I am a nerd! Confused
