DH grunting with dressing gown of doom

DH has a ‘bad’ shoulder. The non-stop grunting every time he moves is driving me mad. Even picking up the remote control deserves a little grunt. He’s also wearing the dressing gown of doom. In the meantime he is doing zero in the house due to his injury. I’m heavily pregnant and working FT.
For reference he hasn’t been off work, won’t see the GP, won’t got to the shop 1 minute walk away to get some ibuprofen, and was able to play football a couple of days ago. I wish he would just go and lie in bed then at least I wouldn’t have to put up with the grunting and shuffling.

Mine is 53 and has the very old boden lounge pants of doom on!
He broke his wrist, it's been plated and pinned and is now in a support.
Keeps taking it off as claims it's too tight, thought that was the point!
Holding it a really pathetic way at every opportunity, but just saw him really vigorously scratching his leg with his ' poorly hand' Hmm And likes to talk about it a lot!!
Running out of patience...

@Littlemissdaredevil I think you need to say the plumbers coming on x day. Get it done by then. Given the option he'll just choose to be a lazy bastard for weeks.

Littlemissdaredevil · 22/02/2020 07:11

The cable tv and broadband is now cancelled (it was in my name only) . I cant sign a new contract as we are meant to be moving house.....

I’m wondering what will DH do without anything apart from Freeview to sit in front of and no broadband (so he won’t be able to play Xbox with his friends) GrinGrinGrin

I’m calling the plumbers on Monday as he is very busy so won’t have a slot for at least 2/3 weeks.

@Littlemissdaredevil
Well, I'm dying to know...did Mr.DGOD + JOGGERS OF DEATH get the tiling project finished this weekend? What happened with the cable being disconnected? Have you made an appointment with the plumber today?

Littlemissdaredevil · 25/02/2020 06:36

I am pleased to report the tiling has been done! It’s only taken 4 weeks to tile around a bath using large tiles!

Cable + broadband is not disconnected until the 20/3 so we need to have moved house by then (which we need a bathroom in our new house to do so) so DH is now in a race against time as I can’t sign a new contract for our old house but I can’t sign a contact for new house either yet! GrinGrinGrin

Also in other news I apparently managed to wake DH at 4am Sunday morning by being noisy (aka popping to loo whilst heavily pregnant) so he was forced to listen to the Fury v Wilder fight so he could get back to sleep and was then tired. I didn’t know boxing helped with insomnia Hmm

DH has taken to lying like a beached whale on the living room floor of his parents house. I think his parents have cottoned on to him as previously it was all poor DH has hurt his back. Now he is getting eye rolls. DH has now developed a slight cough which he refused to take cough medicine for. Until I came at him with a teaspoon and spooned it into his mouth like a small child. Fortunately DH has not reported that he has corona virus yet.

If I ask I about his shoulder I get told it’s a bit better but still hurts in a wobbly voice.

The joggers of death are in the wash. I’m not sure where the DGOD has gone.

I forgot to call the plumber yesterday but I will do so today. However, DH still needs to put the flooring down. Considering there is not loo or sink of anything for him to go round this shouldn’t be too difficult....

In the meantime I have painted our kitchen/diner and put a first top coat on two of the bedrooms 😀

@littlemiss
You forgot to add "made update to DGOD thread"to your list. We nosy loyal followers really appreciate you keeping us in the loop.
Wow, you sure are productive...wish I had half your energy. Are you SURE you don't know where that DGOD has gotten off to? The bin? Used as a clean up rag for all that painting you've been doing?
How can DH get on with being sick if he doesn't have his DGOD?
Loved that DH was able to self-soothe himself back to sleep by listening to the boxing match. He will be so handy at getting the LO back to sleep with that fathering tipGrin

Sissymate2 · 27/02/2020 17:18

@Littlemissdaredevil
Wish we could all help in your upcoming move...good luck! Maybe the DGOD is already hanging in a place of honour in the new house🤣

Littlemissdaredevil · 28/02/2020 22:03

I’m predicting a miracle recovery. VM have cancelled the broadband and tv three weeks early!

Excellent ploy. How is "Sloping shoulders" improving?

Littlemissdaredevil · 04/03/2020 05:21

I am pleased to report that both the tiling and the flooring have been done in the bathroom! Only 4 weeks to do the tiling but when the tv and broadband was switched off it’s taken a mere 5 days to level the floor and put laminate down! The lack of tv and broadband must have had some kind of miracle effect on his health!

The dressing gown of doom has not been seen. However, the joggers of death have been resurrected into the joggers of productivity complete with builders bum.

Builder's Bum! You lucky girl!

Sissymate2 · 20/04/2020 18:44

@Littlemissdaredevil
I hope your DH hasn't had on his dressing gown of doom since isolation began.
My DH is working from home and now is really suffering from back and foot problems, but thank goodness nothing more serious
