to think that what Piers Morgan is doing on twitter to Meghan is harassment / stalking and he should be reported?

Fellow twitter users - I don't follow Piers Morgan on twitter but I've seen a lot of his tweets about Harry and particularly Meghan retweeted by others. I can't believe the vitriol he has for her. I've reported many of them to twitter as "targeted harassment" (one of the twitter report categories) but of course twitter has done nothing.
Surely his abusive behaviour is something that no woman should have to put up with? (but of course Meghan's hands are tied - she can't say or do anything). Why don't the police have a word? (because if someone was running that sort of campaign against me, I would be asking them to). Or at least twitter do something about him - shut him down for a couple of weeks maybe?

This issue has nothing to do with politics. It's to do with common decency, and a man trying to publicly humiliate a woman who didn't want to be friends with him. I knew you would try and make it a "leftie Vs right wing issue.

Roussette · 20/01/2020 19:22

PortiaCastis sorry about the wasted meal. However, your DH is a wise owl Grin

Roussette · 20/01/2020 19:25

Thebishop totally agree. It IS about common decency and being fair to your fellow human being.

phoenixrosehere · 20/01/2020 19:25

God I had no idea he was married

Shocking right. People had seem to describe them as going out on a date and she never called him back (still no reason for his behaviour) so for him having been married then and still having a vendetta against her over this one meeting years ago is insane.

LaurieMarlow · 20/01/2020 19:30

I’m struggling to get my head around the specifics of their encounter.

So he was married at the time. And she was clearly a million miles out of his league.

I’d be surprised if she thought it was a ‘date’.

Did he? 😳

Saddler · 20/01/2020 19:41

Haha ok bishop. It's a forum for opinions, I think that he generally tells it like it is, and a large number outside of this forum would agree. You then ask what's the hell is the Mumsnet bubble (you seem irate, hope you're ok?) so I answered and gave an example. You knew what I meant anyway in that this forum isn't typical of the 'norm' in terms of the majority of opinions held by its members. Have a good evening xxx

MitziK · 20/01/2020 19:42

I just don't get why he is so viciously anti Meghan and Harry, what have they done to him?

Harry got to have sex with the woman he thought he was entitled to have sex with.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 20/01/2020 19:59

Absolutely agree it is harassment and bullying

And he is totally obsessed on a disturbing level

I know he likes to play devils advocate but this is very different and concerning

EustaciaPieface · 20/01/2020 20:20

He’s a disgrace, I don’t know how he gets away with it and is allowed to keep the ITV job. His wife must be mortified.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/19/there-is-a-reason-why-royals-demonised-but-wont-read-all-about-it-prince-harry-meghan-markle

Thought it worth re-linking this for anyone who hasn’t read the full thread. The only balanced articles I’ve read on the whole thing have been in The Guardian, anything else is virtually salivating over what they consider to be her comeuppance. I saw in one ridiculous on a Mail article, someone say Meghan should have Archie taken away from her and she should be exiled and never allowed to see him again. I read the Mail occasionally so I can get out of my lefty bubble and see what other people are saying - only to crawl right back into it. Some of the articles on Meghan have been absolutely sickening.

PortiaCastis · 20/01/2020 20:42

Oh Jeez that's batshit, really? Did a kerb licking twat really say a baby should be taken from his Mother? That's unbelievably stupid, and anyway as if she's going to let anyone near the child she gave birth to, some people need to take a good long hard look at themselves as they come across as idiots.

PortiaCastis · 20/01/2020 20:44

Rousette I've passed on your comment to OH (not dh until Easter Saturday) Grin

nonsensicalmess · 20/01/2020 20:49

I have always loathed PM but his constant vile tweeting about MM has managed to shock me. He comes across as obsessed and deranged. I actually wrote an email of complaint to ITV yesterday - they have a "social purpose" detailed online about how their programming aims to positively influence social culture. Which obviously completely aligns with a high profile employee of theirs publicly bullying a woman online every day Hmm

LaurieMarlow · 20/01/2020 20:52

I saw in one ridiculous on a Mail article, someone say Meghan should have Archie taken away from her and she should be exiled and never allowed to see him again.

Even on here, there was some very distasteful discussion about whether the Queen would/could enforce some archaic law that apparently gives her custody over her descendants (IDK the details) to whisk Archie back to the UK.

Just what is it people want MM punished for?

Even if you believe the worst of her (and I absolutely don’t) it doesn’t amount to more than being a bit annoying/self centred.

Yet people are braying for her to have her baby taken off her. It’s fucking batshit.

theWarOnPeace · 20/01/2020 20:52

PortiaCastis yes and I wish I’d taken a screenshot, as I was telling someone the other day how awful it was and couldn’t find it again! There were other comments saying he isn’t really her baby, that she faked her pregnancy and that’s why they didn’t do the whole ’Kate on the steps’ press thing with him etc. I despair, I really do.

People saying that her father and fucker of a sister are paragons of truth, too. Seriously, these people need to get over here and read Stately Homes! They’ve never heard of toxic families, probably because they’re toxic themselves.

Roussette · 20/01/2020 20:53

Portia I speak as I find, he talks sense! (p.s. good luck with the wedding!)

theWarOnPeace · 20/01/2020 21:03

LaurieMarlow yes, the things about having her baby taken away have made me shudder. I can’t believe anyone is walking around with that much spite in them.

Then you’ve got other people saying things like “we’re not racist for hating her fucking guts, we all went after Diana and Fergie, too!”.... ummm, ok. That went well didn’t it, and so glad to see the remorseful Daily Mail, who so memorably ripped Diana to shreds before she died, then promising never to buy paparazzi pictures again, frothing over pictures of Diana’s daughter-in-law sweating. Delving into every square inch of her private life. Jeez!! My dad fit into the diagnostic criteria for borderline personality disorder, and was a total nightmare when he was alive. I cannot imagine what shit he would have come out with if I’d become a duchess, I dread to think! Imagine the most toxic family member you’ve got, being the last word on everything you are! No wonder she’s run away from us, I would have fucked off too.

midsomermurderess · 20/01/2020 21:13

He is a horrible pasty-faced oaf carrying on as if he is the keeper of public morals and protector of royal standards. What he is most remembered for is hacking a dead girl's phone, deleting her texts and giving her parents false hope that she was still alive, He is an abomination.

PortiaCastis · 20/01/2020 21:22

Some folk need a good talking to, no wonder Harry and Meghan left if their baby is at threat by daily fail fanatics!
On a different thread I read the best comment yet, this excellent gem was posted
" It says a lot for Brexit when even the royals are leggin it out of the Country" Grin Brilliant!
Thanks Rousette it's just a little wedding as second time round but I've found a goodun at last

OrangeLindt · 20/01/2020 21:27

I disagree, he has told it as it is and many of us agree.

MitziK · 20/01/2020 21:32

Even on here, there was some very distasteful discussion about whether the Queen would/could enforce some archaic law that apparently gives her custody over her descendants (IDK the details) to whisk Archie back to the UK.

That escalated, then. It was originally posted as a damn good reason for her to stay the fuck away from here.

Didn't see anybody saying it was a good idea to enforce it - the only ones that disagreed at the time were saying that 'Of course, The Queen would never do a thing like that' despite having done almost exactly the same to Diana's sons so that they hardly saw her before she died.

PortiaCastis · 20/01/2020 21:34

How disgusting

TatianaLarina · 20/01/2020 21:34

Just what is it people want MM punished for?

For not being British, for not being white.

Bluerussian · 20/01/2020 21:39

Whatever the official line, I can't imagine the Queen or the King, depending on the timing, insisting on having custody of Archie and any other child they may have. They all know the importance of co parenting, Diana and Charles managed it quite well, the boys knew they were loved and cared for by both parents and Granny was in the background. Apart from anything else, imagine what a field day the press here and in America would have if a child was taken from its mother. No, won't happen.

I said before, I really don't 'get' Piers Morgan's angle on this. I wonder if he is being deliberately provocative in order to create a bit of a furore. Wouldn't surprise me, there are people who like to do that.

1Morewineplease · 20/01/2020 21:42

I’m not a fan of Harry and Meghan but Piers Morgan is deeply unpleasant.
I just don’t understand why he’s allowed to spout the vitriol that he does.
Suspect it’s due to watching figures... many folk watch his shit show just to see what rubbish he comes up with.
I’ve watched his morning show only a couple of times in order to see why Twitter and other sources are agog with him... I just can’t stand him. Such a repellent presenter.
