AIBU weird game at Hen Party

It was my friends hen last weekend and there were 12 of us together in a large flat we had rented - including the grooms sister.

MOH had arranged a stripper / butler in the buff type guy and we were playing some "naughty" hen type games - nothing unusual - until MOH gets out a Twister set and announces we were going to be playing Twister with this guy! Oh and the catch was every time you got a new pose there was a second spinner (kind of like the one in the game where it says left foot yellow etc) that had a body part on it and the guy would then tickle u in that spot for a few seconds to try and make u fall over! The first person to lose then had to do a forfeit like take a shot.

Now I don't mind silly hen games but don't really want to be tickled by a randomer! The spinner even had "bum" on it as one of the options! So I sat out but I was one of only 2 people to do so and the others all called me a prude! Some of the girls who played were married / had bfs as well!

So is it just me or is that really fucking weird! Have hen party games officially gone too far?

I'd punch DH if he tickled me never mind a total stranger.

PerpendicularVincent · 15/01/2020 18:00

It sounds like my worst nightmare tbh. I once went to a hen do and the stripper dipped his knob in a tub of yogurt. It was years ago but I'm still emotionally scarred.

L0bstersLass · 15/01/2020 18:07

That sounds horrendous. I would have nothing to do with it. No amount of peer pressure would get me to join in.

BlouseAndSkirt · 15/01/2020 18:26

Well, I am relieved that he worse his boxers, at least, for playing Twister.

draughtycatflap · 15/01/2020 18:59

”I once went to a hen do and the stripper dipped his knob in a tub of yogurt.”

@PerpendicularVincent was it on fire?

PerpendicularVincent · 15/01/2020 19:30

No draughty, unfortunately not. He put fluorescent stuff on his knob, dipped it in a Muller light, then turned the lights off and waggled it around.

Unfortunately, I am not joking.

Going to see the ' Full Monty ' stage show - there is no nudity in the Full Monty stage show and it really isn't there as a 'strip show' either. Much of the story is actually quite sad and desperate, rather than being about sex and nudity.

Very different from having a stripper or 'butler in the buff, and certainly very different from going to a lap dancing bar.

GonnaBeMaayy · 15/01/2020 19:40

That’s weird.

And I don’t really agree with objectifying people anyway. The game is mental though. Sounds like MOH just wanted a bit of naughty fun though.

EduCated · 15/01/2020 19:52

I endured was at a hen do with a butler in the buff, and ended up sat slightly behind him. There’s nothing like being eye level with a stranger’s dangling bollocks for an hour to put you off the whole affair.

lesleyw1953 · 15/01/2020 19:57

OMG - crass and cringe making.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 16/01/2020 03:43

Come off it @Aragog. Nobody says "oh let's go and see The Full Monty - it's a really good story".

Casino218 · 16/01/2020 03:48

I'd be more put out having to play twister tbh. I just wouldn't be able to get into those positions due to back problems. I'm sure if I tried I would be in that much discomfort I wouldn't notice some half dressed guy tickling me either.

mrbob · 16/01/2020 03:52

I would in no way want to go to a hen party where there was a stripper. It is just weird and seems really sad (I feel the same about female strippers) If I knew there was likely to be a stripper at a hen party I wouldn’t go

Ishotmrburns · 16/01/2020 05:23

Sounds fucking grim. I wouldn't have wanted to make a big fuss but I would have definitely sat out and ignored all peer pressure to join in.

SaphfireRose · 16/01/2020 05:44

You are definitely NBU. I would feel uncomfortable being tickled by a strange man, too. It is sad that even at Hen's Nights that there can still be peer pressure. You have a right to feel safe, a right to personal boundaries. You are not a prude, you simply have personal boundaries that you don't feel safe having violated. Women should be supporting each other, not peer pressure them to have physical contact with a random man they don't know. They shouldn't make a fellow sister uncomfortable or shame them because they don't feel comfortable.

Aragog · 16/01/2020 07:06

Giveherhell- I did go to see it and in no way went for nudity. There was none anyway so it's have been disappointing if that was the reason. I only went as I went with a couple of younger drama students who were using the play to discuss other factors, and nothing to do with sex and nudity. The audience was very mixed in terms of age and sex. It's a very northern drama as a okay and the students were studying it from the gritty north type angle.

Littlebb2020 · 16/01/2020 08:46

That is so weird 🤣

UndertheCedartree · 16/01/2020 08:52

That would freak me out. I wouldn't be keen on a stripper in the first place, though

Yehdivvy · 16/01/2020 08:58

Just very crass, not my cup of tea. I don't attend hen parties for this reason. You can't predict what kind of weird crap they'll put on under the guise of being "progressive".

ShatnersWig · 16/01/2020 09:02

Come off it. Nobody says "oh let's go and see The Full Monty - it's a really good story

You do know not just women go to see that musical? Amateur dramatic groups all over the country have done and are doing it. Do you think the guys who do it have butler in the buff bodies they want to show off? Of course they don't. They are very good acting parts, in a well constructed show.

If you really think people only go to see that show for nudity, well, you're a bit dim.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 16/01/2020 09:06

@ShatnersWig all of the advertisements for the 'proper' show are pictures of ripped men wearing next to nothing. They appeal to a certain audience. If you can't see that I'd suggest I'm not the only dim one.

All kinds of people go and watch sex shows in Amsterdam, and watched Sticky Vicky in Benidorm. Doesn't make them any less seedy.

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 16/01/2020 09:09

Been on a lot of these type of hen parties. I always sit out these elements as it personally makes me feel uncomfortable.

I don't judge others who choose to get involved though, there is usually a large amount of alcohol involved and a bit of peer pressure.

No point judging them though, it's what they want to do. I have seen the aftermath of when it goes wrong though, hungover hens feeling ashamed the next day or angry husband's finding out at the wedding exactly what happened at hen party etc....

Titsywoo · 16/01/2020 09:16

Was the guy playing as well? As in contorting into various positions on the twister board? That could have been, erm... interesting!

I went to a hen do and the maid of honour had organised one of those butlers. We were all in our early 30's and everyone found it a bit uncomfortable tbh. We ended up chatting to this guy (he was early 20's I think) about his life and what he was planning to do career wise while he made us drinks in the kitchen Grin. I just find it all really creepy and inappropriate. Another friend had a stripper at her hen do and she really wasn't keen but plastered on a smile while he threw her about and grinded away. I buggered off to get another drink at this point. I didn't really fancy watched my uncomfortable friend being dry humped by a naked stranger. Weird what some people enjoy.

NicEv · 16/01/2020 09:17

I think it’s interesting to see the different approach to male and female sex workers on mumsnet.

There is a post at the moment about a female sexworker who has been filming her encounters with clients - almost uniformly there is sympathy for her and revulsion and disgust for her clients.

Here we have a young man who is paid by a group of women to go alone into a private environment almost naked and then paid to play twister and have to “tickle” these women on their bum. If you flip this around so that a group of men (some older and married) are asking a young woman to do this I can imagine what the comments on here would be!

This young man may well have given the impression he was happy to play this game with “hot women” - his job no doubt depends on him being able to give that impression. It doesn’t mean he wanted to do this.

YANBU - I wouldn’t want to do this either and would feel uncomfortable for the young man involved.

ShatnersWig · 16/01/2020 09:19

GiveHerHellFromUs You're wrong.

Here's the poster image from a recent touring professional production - what you'd call the 'proper' show. I see no ripped men wearing next to nothing, do you?
