Spot on Alsohuman.

I think Tom Bradby might be the new Paul Burrel tbh.

That Disney thing is a bit awful. I guess they will spin it as Harry trying to doing something nice for his wife-fulfil her life long dream of being in a Disney full or some such as opposed to touting for work -and maybe it was- But isn't it frowned upon for the Royals to use their position like that regardless?

Fraggot · 12/01/2020 12:41

crispysausagerolls reminds me of the article in the Express after the engagement interview:

“The childhood best friend of Markle, Ninaki Priddy, explained to the Express that Markle has always been obsessed by the royal family. Priddy shared her thoughts when she heard about the engagement. “I’m not shocked at all,” Priddy said. “It’s like she has been planning this all her life. She gets exactly what she wants and Harry has fallen for her play.” A 15-year-old photograph of Priddy and Markle posing outside Buckingham Palace seems to collaborate Priddy’s story. “She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0,” Priddy added.”

crispysausagerolls · 12/01/2020 12:42

@Fraggot

Absolutely mortifying.

Would have been much more likeable if she had said she always had a schoolgirl obsession with the RF and then as they grew up thought Harry was gorgeous/fantastic with his charities and watched him from a far.

Wouldn’t hVe made her look like an idiotic liar anyway.

Needmorecaffine · 12/01/2020 12:43

The Disney thing is awful.

There is no way she would get a voice over otherwise. She was in a Netflix series , not Oscar winning films and certainly was not an A lister. Talk about being your own woman when your more famous DH starts touting for you Hmm

Dongdingdong · 12/01/2020 12:43

She doesn’t need a wad of cash - she’s now set for life financially whichever way you look at it

True. She’s played an absolute blinder, that’s for sure!

I think H&M have split up.

Impossible. All that handholding and clutching? And the adoring looks? What was all that then, the last time they were seen in public?

Ah, of course: acting...

I think there will be another baby before the inevitable divorce

Meghan definitely wears the trousers. I bet she has pushed him Into this the more I think about. He loves her and won't want to loose Archie. Was clear at the wedding Meghan didn't fit in with the Royals. Only her mum sat there. Kate Middleton had her family all there. I'm surprised a divorced American actress was ever accepted by the queen. I don't mean that there is anything wrong with Meghan. She wasn't born into a fancy life style so she's not trained. Kate had a privileged life I presume as she was able to go to the same university as William for a start. She's also got that nice, warm motherly style. She seems like a home maker. Also happy to support her husband. I think Meghan is abit different and likes to lead and decide everything for herself. I bet Harry struggles to get her enthused if it's not about her own passions. She's grown up in America though and probably doesn't really grasp what the royal family does. I don't either to a big extent but they are supposed to come across strong, proffesional and supportive of the UK. Meghan has broken that to an extent. The royal family are not supposed to show they have opinions etc either are they.

When she said nobody asked her if she was ok after Archie was born. I'm sure people like Harry etc would of asked her how she was doing. I can't say many people asked me if I was ok either. People tend to focus on the baby and some will ask mum how she's getting on. With all due respect Meghan had an easier start to motherhood than most. I'm not saying her mental help wasn't affected. But she would of had meals made for her. Her staff would have cleaned for her. She had a big house with no financial worries. She could but her baby anything. She could of got herself clothes straight away. A haircut and a facial. She would of been able to cry and talk to Harry etc. We get being a mum is hard and tiring. But it's also something we all go through with alot less than Meghan.

If they had let the press have a couple of pictures and five minutes of their time then they wouldnt of been so harrased after Archie was born.

I do think Harry is struggling mentally. I still think it's due to his feelings coming to the surface when he became a dad. I don't think he's ever recovered from his mum's death. Bless him. It's a difficult role he's in. But it feels like he's leaving on such a negative note. Hiding behind a bollocks Instagram post. Saying Archie will get to appreciate the routes he was born Into. Feels like he's saying we don't want to raise Archie British or royal but yes we will tell him about his family one day.

His grandparents are getting old too. You'd think he would wait until they passed away. I feel he will possibly regret it as he's not going to see much of them anymore now he's leaving. That's nothing about him being royal either, that's his grandma and grandad.

What a mess.

LaMarschallin · 12/01/2020 12:48

Did Harry sign a pre-nup I wonder?

Ah. Good point.
Otherwise what's to stop him dishing the dirt on the notoriously press-shy family of Meghan Markle? People have been interested in what it's like to be a member of that famous clan for a century or more.
That television series about them - "The Crowd" - is popular for a reason.

Personally, I think the rumours that Thomas Markle has a man to squeeze his toothpaste for him just aren't true.

EmeraldShamrock · 12/01/2020 12:48

I can't see it. I think MM is very career focused.

LordOfTheWhys · 12/01/2020 12:51

I think she'll sign a NDA and grant H favourable custody arrangements for a massive amount of money. I wonder who in the RF has the job of explaining to H that moving your child overseas isn't the sharpest move if you're considering future custody arrangements.

yomommasmomma · 12/01/2020 12:53

I just think it is such a shame that we have got to this point. The press never gave Meghan a chance as these pics show, the people did and liked her a lot at the start.

She and Harry could have been a wonderful breath or fresh air for the RF, but because (I think) of Harry and Williams falling out and the press appalling treatment of Meghan, it has all fallen apart.

Has anyone asked Paul Burrell for his expert opinion on all this?

Doubtless he'll pop up soon, though in the meantime he must be laughing his socks off

Shame about Tom Bradby's unfortunate intervention; I posted that they'll probably have to keep Harry happy for fear of what they might say - about his father in particular - and here it comes

Could this possibly get any more trashy? Hmm

FatherRabulaConundrum · 12/01/2020 12:55

It's mad to think this has been orchestrated to divert attention from Prince Andrew's tacky/illegal shenanigans. If anything it focuses even more hostile 'So what are these people actually FOR?' attention on the whole lot of them.

I do like the Queen's dog head scarfs though. It sends out the crystal clear message that she'd swap all of them for just one of the corgis.

savethecat · 12/01/2020 12:56

I think M originally had quite a good reception from the press until she started to behave in the way she did/was reported to.

Wheresthebeach · 12/01/2020 12:56

I think Harry is so smitten that he won't have any thought of custody arrangements and he'd refuse to engage in that conversation.

MM on the other hand, is playing a very smart (and I think callous) game. She's gone from a jobbing actress to superstar in 2 years and is set for life now.

LordOfTheWhys · 12/01/2020 12:58

When will people stop blaming the press? H&M had an experienced RF press team who they sidelined, ignored then eventually replaced. They kept their press team in the dark about their leaving statement (which incidentally is very clear on how they're going to court the press and try to monetise future press opportunities by opting out of the royal rota). They also have staff to read the press and follow the media for them.
The media have sat on lots of stories about them (as they do with all the RF). H&M have made it clear they intend to be all over the media in the future, it's just they're hoping to get paid for it.

Needmorecaffine · 12/01/2020 12:58

I would assume that most of us whilst pregnant had a hand on our bump ( or rested a plate or two 🤣) but I don't recall seeing anyone wandering around 'cradling' it . There are a couple of women pregnant at work I am going to keep a watch on them to see if they cradle

I personally think MM was OTT or precious first time Mum.

MurrayTheMonk · 12/01/2020 12:59

I also wondered about who she thought should have been asking her if she's ok? I'm assuming Harry asked. And her Mum. And her friends. And throngs of those odd uns who turn up to see the royals get out of a car. But Who else was she expecting to ask?? That seemed a bit perfect first baby thinking to me at the time...and you are right I'm fairly sure the early weeks of them having a baby were a dust bit easier than for most other people with all the help they had on tap, paid or not. It's just a bit of a disconnect between them and reality isn't it?

Again I was ambivalent to them before this, not a Meghan hater at all. But they haven't come across well in lots of ways with this to me.

Alsohuman · 12/01/2020 12:59

I think there will be another baby before the inevitable divorce

I don’t, the leverage is there with one, no need to go through another pregnancy.

yellowallpaper · 12/01/2020 13:00

The American forum I am on are positively vitriolic re MM. Not harry, just her. No idea why unless it is genuine racism?

LaMarschallin · 12/01/2020 13:00

Did Harry sign a pre-nup I wonder?

And, without being sarcastic (as I was), I suspect not. I believe (as much as anyone can who knows nothing other than what's in the papers) that he really loves her and would have thought it wrong to sign one.
I'm sure he would have been advised to do so, but events have shown he doesn't always never follows advice.

She, to be fair, looks like she loves him.
Very rare to see a photo of them where her luminescent eyes aren't fixed upon him, glowing with love.

(Sorry. Back to being sarcastic again)
