to think white Ferrero Rochers should be banned

I was given a 'tray' of Ferroro Rocher for Christmas. The tray consisted of white, brown (original) and dark brown Rocher. Not partaken since about 1994 so was quite excited to have a "ooh monsieur you are spoiling us" moment.

Opened the white one. WTAF? Desiccated coconut absolutely everywhere. Who invented these bags of dandruff? They are cunningly designed to ensure coconut falls out immediately upon opening. Doesn't even contain white chocolate. Just tastes of coconut. What's the point? No one in my household has been able to eat one without making an almighty mess. Might as well shake a bag of the desiccated stuff around the lounge.

These are not fit for the Ambassador's reception.

Any other 'chocolate' abominations I need to be aware of that I've missed?

@Unshriven - the mint Ferrero Rochers were AMAZING! Seriously, they were the first chocolates my husband shared with me when we first started dating back in the early 1990s. I even wrote to the makers a few years ago to demand (well, politely ask) if they'd consider bringing them back. They told me no because there was some problem with the production method?!
They may have looked not so nice, but the inside minty liquid centre was lovely!

I signed in for the first time in ages to be able to vote on this. The white ones are sick and wrong!

You have to get the technique right with the unwrapping: basically, you tilt your head back and unwrap it into your wide open mouth thus preventing any coconut fall. I’m sure the ambassador would be distinctly unimpressed.

I assume the majority of people don't like them as my local Tesco had boxes of them reduced from £4 to 50p the other day and they had loads left!
I bought my oh some as he loves coconut, I'm still waiting for him to open them so I can try one.

There are raspberry versions of Raffaelo in Germany!!!!

@QuillBill Ricicles were sugar coated. White coco pops are white chocolate coated. And they are rank. Rafaello are the nicest! I didn't buy any this year though. I will tomorrow.

White coco pops aren't coated with anything, they're white chocolate flavoured. Supposedly. In reality they're just nasty.

I love Rafaello! I always have some at Christmas. They're my favourites, with the dark Ferreros second and the "originals" third.

Ferrero Rocher should be banned they are horrible! Now Raffaello, they are food of the gods!

I pointed out the white chocolate Rice Krispies to my son the other week and we both agreed they sounded ever so wrong especially as he doesn’t like cereals at the best of times.

I purchased the Christmas M&S Prosecco and fruit crisps.. yes they were crisps. were reduced to 10p so thought may as well try it, and whilst they weren’t disgusting they were not tasty either, I think it was the “fizz “ as you ate them that put me off

Just more sugary junk food. Waste of calories.

@hoxtonbabe oh no, I have a bag of those M&S Prosecco crisps left over from Christmas. I think I'll lob them, based on your experience. I did have second thoughts when I bought them, shouldnt have bothered.

I haven't RTFT so apologies if it's already been mentioned but can anyone remember the pistachio Ferrero Rocher? I seem to remember getting some in Christmas pack with the normal ones and the dark ones maybe about 10 years ago, then the year after they were replaced by the Raffaello ones.

Lol.. give them a try, it’s more of an acquired taste as it’s sort of fruity with the fizz but has an element of savoury going on too.. it’s just odd. I managed half the pack but that could have been down to pride and not wanting to admit to my poor judgment

not really a chocolate complaint, but our local sainsbury's has installed a lindor pick and mix which is honestly the work of the actual devil.

It was hard enough getting kids past the chocolate aisle - now I keep getting stuck in there....

This thread is making me want an ice cream sundae from fortnums as I can get coconut, pistachio and chocolate hazelnut ice cream, with whipped cream and pistachio nuts and a flake ( or two) on top..

I got the Ferrero golden collection for Xmas and they were all lovely but a bit odd. One of the range had an orangey flavour and white chocolatier which I wasn't expecting
