Is anyone else's dp/dh just really bloody annoying?

Every evening my dp complains about how cold he is, never wants the heating off.. And yet he's walking around the house in a t-shirt and shorts. God give me the bloody strength!!

Yesterday he left a big wet towel on my side of the bed, every time he removes his socks he rolls them off into balls and I have to roll the bloody things back out to wash them. He also does this weird thing with his teeth where he like, sucks through them over and over again after he's finished eating? His whole family do it, anytime I ask him what the actual fuck he's doing and why, he just shrugs.

So I'm in the mood for a bit of a winge, obviously, please tell me how much your dp/dhs annoy you, so I can prevent myself strangling him in his sleep.

DH had to go for (minor) dental surgery yesterday. He's done nothing but moan and whinge all bloody day, has had to be told like a f*cking toddler to take his pain meds and antibiotics. I'm not reminding him tomorrow, tough shit if he gets an infection. I know he's in pain but seriously I may as well have sat in the dentists chair as I'm the one bearing the brunt of it all.

I have to say that normally he's fine, but today he's pushed every button I have Blush

JKScot4 · 08/01/2020 22:44

@junie
What is it with the dentist? Any DP had a tooth out before Xmas, honestly you’d think he’d a fuckin leg amputated!! Walking about with his sad pained face. I ended telling him to give it a rest and then came the disappointed face 🙄🙄

Thestrangestthing · 08/01/2020 22:46

Yes he is messy, God so messy. He leaves work and football stuff lying everywhere and it all bloody stinks. If he is awake at night because he can't sleep, he will definitely "accidently" wake me scratching himself, or blowing his nose etc. He winds the kids up constancy, he expects them to know when he is being serious and has stopped carrying on, even although I, as an adult find it hard to know. I could go on all night because he's really annoying me today 😂

gwenneh · 08/01/2020 22:48

We have a newborn. She's our third baby so this is very much lighthearted!

This morning DH declared it was a "two cup of tea morning" as he was so tired. He had the gall to say this to me while drying off from a shower, after having had six hours of unbroken sleep because I got up for every feed last night.

I haven't showered in 2 days, nor have I had more than 3 hours of sleep, plus I'm exhausted from expressing milk every few hours so the baby can eat.

AIBU to think no jury will convict me at this stage?

LadyEggs · 08/01/2020 22:53

Thestrangestthing I think we married the same man!

NegroniOnIce · 08/01/2020 22:58

Yes. Mine complains about the —non-existent— draught. He claims it ‘whistles through the house’ is ‘ice cold’ and how can nobody else feel it. This every sodding evening no matter if it is neither cold nor windy outside. One day...

Thehop · 08/01/2020 23:07

My fourth baby arrived after a 5 day Labour by emergency section.

I’d had 3 drug free vaginal deliveries before so it was a huge shock and I was terrified.

He looked up at me in theatre, as I was literally shaking with fear and being cut open and said “god, they’ve given me one croc 2 sizes too small. You’ve no idea how much pain I’m in”

It’s a good job he does do much at home or I’d have killed him with my catheter.

Thehop · 08/01/2020 23:07

So much.

Thehop · 08/01/2020 23:08

And the SNORING

dear god.

SharkInfested · 08/01/2020 23:10

@mashaandthebear - not just your DP. My DH was wearing a t-shirt surrounded (no exaggeration) by blankets (four AND a duvet) shivering and saying he's cold. Erm...

SharkInfested · 08/01/2020 23:11

@JKScot4 😂 my ex boyfriend went to the dentist for a checkup and the dentist did a quick clean on a couple of his teeth and made his gums bleed a bit and he came home limping 😂😂

JKScot4 · 08/01/2020 23:13

@SharkInfested
Christ! I better not let mine read this he’ll be inspired 🤣🤣

JKScot4 · 08/01/2020 23:14

@thechop
You have great self restraint, I’d have asked for a scalpel

TokyoSushi · 08/01/2020 23:21

Leave the socks in balls, your clothes go into the washing basket incorrectly in my house, they're washed like that and you have to deal with the consequences!

Lipz · 08/01/2020 23:34

My dh eats like he's chewing fucking glass !!! He has soft caramel chocolate here and I swear he has snuck a big fucking glass bolder into his mouth. I want to ram the chocolates up his arse !!!

lonelyonee · 08/01/2020 23:36

😂😂😂 men eh!!

Mine moans how he's been at work all day so why couldn't I have done this or that? I'm like I have also been at work all day, just because we work different hours and you get back after me doesn't mean I have to do everything?
Another one is moaning how much back pain he has or how tired he is... I'm 29 weeks pregnant I think I know all about being tired and having back pain thank you very much! At least he can take painkillers & manage to get comfortable unlike me!
I am growing a human being ffs!!!
No idea what goes on in their bloody heads honestly!

HillAreas · 08/01/2020 23:43

My annoyance list is weirdly the same as yours @Mashaandthebearr! Right down to the socks and the teeth thing Grin
I don’t unroll his socks or untangle his jeans or do anything at all other than lump his stuff in with the rest of the washing as he left it. The inevitable outcome is his problem and if he can live with it then I don’t see why I should give myself the extra work 🤷‍♀️
Having said that, I’ve got terrible nausea and morning sickness just now and I’ve barely lifted a finger for weeks. He’s been doing it all and looking after me. So I do appreciate him when I read about some of the unevolved arsewipes my fellow Mumsnetters are lumbered with.

TwatCat · 08/01/2020 23:45

Christ OP, your DH gets about a bit. He's been here all evening too. Only, he's my husband also. I'm currently in the bath watching him brush his teeth with tooth paste running down his bloody arm because he can't manage to brush and keep it in his mouth. How the fuck does he even manage that!?

PickAChew · 08/01/2020 23:48

The laundry is easy. I put DH's stuff through the wash as I find it - sleeves rolled up, expensive stuff in pockets, whatever.

thatonesmine · 08/01/2020 23:50

Mine dresses the same year round, always in jeans and T shirt. Then complains in summer because he's too hot and in winter because he's too cold. Endlessly. Suggestions that he might tailor his clothing to the season are pointedly ignored.

NearlyGranny · 08/01/2020 23:54

The wet towel is thoughtless and inconsiderate. You get to sleep on his side tonight if the bed is still damp.

Stop doing his washing entirely (works for me!) or if you're feeling generous, no washing unless he puts it in the linen basket ready to go (socks unrolled, trousers inside out with pockets checked, etc.)

My OH was a sigher. Deep, tragedy sighs heaved up from his tortured soul for no apparent reason. I mirrored them and he stopped. The teeth sucking might be eliminated the same way. Match him hiss for hiss and hear it disappear...

If he asks why you're doing it, tell him you assumed it was something they do in his family to show they've enjoyed the meal instead of thanking the cook so he's taught it to you and you're joining in.

NearlyGranny · 08/01/2020 23:56

Any more wet towels cold be shifted to his side but under the covers so he doesn't find the damp patch until bedtime. You thought he must like wet towels on his bed, or why put them there?

SunbeamsOverhead · 08/01/2020 23:57

45 minutes on the toilet EVERY FUCKING MORNING!

SNORING LIKE A WALRUS!

SCRAPING his cutlery along his plate when eating dinner in a way that makes me want to smash the bloody thing over his head!

Constantly looking at his bloody phone.

Ahhh 20 years of married bliss GrinConfused

Oysterbabe · 08/01/2020 23:57

Mine fills the dishwasher but doesn't turn it on. I can't describe the rage when I want to cook and everything I need is in a full dirty dishwasher.
