Is anyone else's dp/dh just really bloody annoying?

Mashaandthebearr · 08/01/2020 20:30

Every evening my dp complains about how cold he is, never wants the heating off.. And yet he's walking around the house in a t-shirt and shorts. God give me the bloody strength!!

Yesterday he left a big wet towel on my side of the bed, every time he removes his socks he rolls them off into balls and I have to roll the bloody things back out to wash them. He also does this weird thing with his teeth where he like, sucks through them over and over again after he's finished eating? His whole family do it, anytime I ask him what the actual fuck he's doing and why, he just shrugs.

So I'm in the mood for a bit of a winge, obviously, please tell me how much your dp/dhs annoy you, so I can prevent myself strangling him in his sleep.

This thread has reminded me of one of my favourite :

TiddyTid · 09/01/2020 00:12

My DH has ADD. I cannot tell you how many annoying habits he has but the procrastination is mind-blowing. I call him Titanic because getting anything finished or getting out of the door in time is like trying to turn the fucking Titanic.

I know he can't help it but sometimes, just sometimes, I could.......Grin

Chuffit · 09/01/2020 00:20

Every time there's a knock on the door or the phone rings, he looks at me and asks ' whose that?'
Every... bleeding....time!!!
Because clearly I'm bloody psychic!

ChocolateCoins19 · 09/01/2020 00:25

Since Saturday I've spent 14 hours between A&E and same day emergency care for suspected blood clot, 38w pregnant.
Inc 2 days ago when the cannula was put in wrong so when they flushed it it was just swelling my arm.. I have 4 cannula bruises, plusnvlood test bruises. Bruises on tummy from clexane Injections and generally feel like I've been poked and prodded.. No sleep got days thro worry etc and pregnancy insomnia.
He was moaning today about a tiny welding burn.. Its the size of a raisin..
I swear I wanted to weld his mouth shut.

Ruderidinghood · 09/01/2020 00:39

In every single relationship I have been in my partner was annoying. SO ANNOYING! So annoying in so many ways I could write a book. Things they said, things they did. Ugh. I have now been single for nearly 3 years and I am the most stress free and happiest I have ever been. It is bliss.

Booberella9 · 09/01/2020 03:33

Stop washing his godforsaken socks!!

@Oysterbabe no jury would convict!

Mine will sit there randomly tensing his arms. So bloody annoying especially when I'm trying to get a rare cuddle (2 DC under 3 so not that we don't want to!). I've asked him what he's doing and why. He doesn't know Confused

Modestandatinybitsexy · 09/01/2020 04:55

Currently awake feeding dd and just that infuriating puff of air through his lips is making me want to lamp him. He's practically perfect in ever other way though.

StinkyWizleteets · 09/01/2020 05:24

Where to begin. He breathes wrong in his sleep and blows cold air across my face and won’t move so it almost feels painful when the air hits me (think water boarding with nightbreath) He snores like a lawnmower shagging a pig especially after a few beers. So while I’m lying awake after dealing with the toddler who has never slept through and still wakes twice a night he’s oblivious and stopping me from returning to sleep.
He too does the tooth sucky thing when eating and apparently produces way too much saliva when he chews as I can hear it sloshing about even when he’s had a single crisp.
His farts don’t always smell but the noise is stomach churning and he shits four times a day for 30 mins at a time... I could go on

AquarianSquirrel · 09/01/2020 05:29

@Booberella9 is he the really tall guy from the first series of the undateables who stole his dates chips?!

motherheroic · 09/01/2020 05:44

He is sucking his teeth after he eats because he has food stuck between them! Just tell him to floss immediately after his meal Grin

TwoZeroTwoZero · 09/01/2020 06:01

He snores and won't shut the fuck up. When he stops, and I start to drift off, he fucking starts up again. If he's not snoring then he makes this godawful clicking noise as he alternates breathing through his mouth and nose. He always, always falls asleep first; as soon as he lies down he's off. I don't know how he does it. I've been on the settee every night for a month now and my back and sides are fucking killing me. Tonight I'm going to demand that we swap and I get to sleep in my actual, proper bed for a bloody change.

Piglet89 · 09/01/2020 06:02

My DH does this. Repeatedly. Despite being told not to. Reader, I am not ashamed to tell you there are times I have been tempted to strangle him.

Everythingbuttheboy · 09/01/2020 06:08

How many calories he’s eaten how many he’s got left to eat, his weight loss/gain that morning EVERY DAY!

4DrivetPrive · 09/01/2020 06:09

Mine does the heating thing and the balled (hidden) sock thing among others. He wanders around in his boxers and nothing else moaning how cold it is and wanting the quilt to sit on the sofa with. The odd time he comes in and leaves his tshirt on he is always too hot. Hmm

mousemousse · 09/01/2020 06:19

Mine leaves plates and cutlery in the sink, which is next to the empty dishwasher. He leaves spent shower gel bottles on the floor. He leaves piles of toe nail clippings on side tables. I seriously think he believes in fairies.

He also has to leave for work at 6am. Rather than put all his clothes downstairs every night so he can slip out of the bedroom and get ready without disturbing everyone, he stomps around the bedroom like a fucking elephant, opening drawers, dropping clothes onto the floor, scraping hangers along the wardrobe rail. Every morning he wakes 4 yo DD so she is exhausted by the time she starts school at 9 and wakes our newborn and me so I am cranky for the rest of the day.

Mummyoflittledragon · 09/01/2020 06:27

Yes. I have chronic fatigue, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, had two big surgeries, one of them major and nowhere near recovered as the second was a repair to the first and double surgery on the same site was horrendous. I was extremely ill before surgery so it’s years, not months of recovery.

Yet my dh complained about his feet and sent me videos of plantar fasciitis. As if it’s the worst and he can hardly walk 🙄. I have this amongst myriad other things. Fellow mumsnetters, I correctly identified his shoes as this issue.... a new pair procured and what do you know? Problem solved.

Then there’s me “I’m exhausted”. “I’m exhausted too” quath he the other day. Good on you mate, go and have some restorative sleep. That’s the stuff I can’t get btw. Seeing as I have chronic fatigue. Out of all the things that piss me off including his quick temper and nastiness at the moment, the vaping sound is the one, which grates the most. I have misphonia.

TwilightPeace · 09/01/2020 06:29

He sounds lovely.

Ilovetolurk · 09/01/2020 06:33

@Thehop that’s so funny. I do hope he didn’t pick up a verruca to cap it off for him

FrangipaniBlue · 09/01/2020 06:33

DH and DS both do the balled up socks thing, not intentionally it's how they take them off, each sock individually balled in on itself Angry

Also clothes in the wash with one sleeve or one leg inside out

ARGH!!

FrangipaniBlue · 09/01/2020 06:34

DH also likes to have a good moan and is all woe is me when he is poorly or in pain.

Has he taken any painkillers or medication?

Has he fuck. He thinks 2 paracetamol at 9am will see him right for the week.

L1minal · 09/01/2020 06:35

Seriously, what is it with teeth?

Mine sort of snaps his teeth together no matter what he's eating - it's like hearing those comedy dentures that you wind up. He does it even when he's eating something soft/liquid like rice pudding or ice-cream or soup or, god help me, even drinking a cup of tea.

I may have to kill him over this but we did at least solve the snoring issue by sleeping permanently in separate rooms.

Teddy275 · 09/01/2020 06:36

Love this, loads to contribute later but just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the giggle this morning... and Oh.God. the Snoring....

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 09/01/2020 06:41

Aaaaand this is why I don't live with anyone (bar DCs). Though the boyfriend is moving in this year...should I say no now?

Minxmumma · 09/01/2020 06:41

Deciding he must use the bathroom for an epic poo when we've all got in the car to leave. So I'm sat entertaining a now bored toddler while he procrastinated ....

Bluerussian · 09/01/2020 06:42

He shouldn't leave his towel on the bed, even he would know why not and his socks could easily be turned inside out and put in the laundry basket singly. Yes you might end up with nine socks at the end of the wash but so does everyone.

Impress the above on him.

As for the rest of it, in his shorts and t shirt he may feel comfortable. Jumpers can make you very hot and sweaty even if it's cold so I think you just have to adjust to that. I hate the cold but tend to wear t shirts indoors or I boil in five minutes so I sort of understand him.

Sucking teeth is unbelievably vulgar; I might go as far as shouting about something like that so I don't blame you for being irritated. Does he do it in front of friends? That would be so embarrassing. For goodness sake, stop him now, threaten to LTB even if you don't mean it.
