Jeremy Clarkson and Aussie fires.

Jeremy Clarkson ha s apparently written a column about the bushfires here in Oz. He apparently feels that God hates Australia, so he’s burning it. He feels that all Australian animals want to kill people ( forgivable view, but untrue. Mostly!) . He feels that Australia is too dangerous for human habitation. Okay, normally I enjoy Jeremy’ refreshingly un-pc, tongue in cheek humour. He does go too far sometimes and he has stepped way over a line here. People are losing their lives and homes. How this can be a topic for humour is beyond me. I know the man can be bigoted, but so outright insensitive?

He is a tit of the greatest magnitude- hopefully more people will realise this after this stunt and stop giving him opportunities to publish his outdated, bigoted and rude comments.

Tinkerbell456 · 05/01/2020 01:03

He’d be wise to avoid Australia next time he wants to sell his books or whatever.

Sparklesocks · 05/01/2020 01:15

he doesn’t give a monkeys about anything. Huge bellend who spews bellend things.

lborgia · 05/01/2020 01:24

YANBU to think this is appalling.

YABU to think Okay, normally I enjoy Jeremy’ refreshingly un-pc, tongue in cheek humour.

It’s because of this opinion that he has ramped up as far as he has.

VimFuego101 · 05/01/2020 01:27

That's disappointing after he seemed to have a brief moment of clarity regarding climate change on a recent Grand Tour episode.

Tinkerbell456 · 05/01/2020 01:27

Well, you make a good point lborgia. I have definitely changed my opinion of him.

But Jeremy Clarkson has made a career of this kind of insensitivity. I'm honestly confused why you would be shocked that he said that.

Is this a case of "but he was being atrociously insensitive about other people before"?

wokingpizzaexpress · 05/01/2020 01:30

Omg this guy is a first class wanker.
I hate him even more now!
God should fucking burn his ass

Tinkerbell456 · 05/01/2020 01:30

Yep, he has never been exactly sensitive it’s true, but I don’t recall him ever being quite this crass.

Lambingseason · 05/01/2020 01:33

Clarkson and his ilk (Hopkins et al) build their careers on shock value. They don't care if its bad publicity so long as it gets them trending.

ifpossible · 05/01/2020 01:35

I have never been able to understand the popularity of this wanker. There is a time and place for this mentality and it’s not when people and animals are burning to death.

BananaTaffy · 05/01/2020 01:37

Is this a case of "but he was being atrociously insensitive aboutotherpeople before"?
Nailed it.

Wiltinglillies · 05/01/2020 01:38

Burma, Vietnam, Argentina... Ooh, you naughty edgy un-pc man, you.

Australia. Oh, what? how could you Mr Clarkson? you've gone too far this time

SuckingDieselFella · 05/01/2020 01:39

Is it this column?
www.thesun.co.uk/news/10668071/australia-is-gods-laboratory-and-people-were-not-actually-meant-to-live-there/

Where does it say that God hates Australia? I can't find that in the article.

Where does it say that all Australian animals want to kill people? He mentions a few animals but he only says this about some snakes.

It does say that it's too dangerous for human habitation. That's his entire argument. It's a stupid and tasteless argument but it's what I would expect from the Sun. I think you are being unreasonable to look for intelligent comment in it.

Tinkerbell456 · 05/01/2020 01:42

Looks like the article. No I hadn’t actually read it, but a précis on a news site. You’re right, it doesn’t say God hates Australia- bit of a misquote there on my part probably.

OP posts:
Tinkerbell456 · 05/01/2020 01:43

He is still an insensitive boor.

SuckingDieselFella · 05/01/2020 01:48

OP articles like this are written to generate comments on social media and you've fallen into the trap. Why would you want to waste your time on it?

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 05/01/2020 01:49

I wonder if he changes his style of invective for the Sun.

I think I used to enjoy getting aerated at his columns when we took the Telegraph (although it could have been the Times^) before he just became too tiresome for me.

FruitcakeOfHate · 05/01/2020 01:49

He's always been a cunt. Why do people give him headspace?

IAmNotAWitch · 05/01/2020 01:50

Jeremy Clarkson is irrelevant.

FrogsFrogs · 05/01/2020 01:55

How he still gets work after punching some poor sod, while at work, and when drunk, is beyond me.

Let alone all the people at the time going yay!

Weird.

He's a complete twat.

I haven't read the article this is my opinion based on his previous form!

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 05/01/2020 02:07

I've read the article kindly provided by SuckingDieselFella, and it reads like vintage Clarkson, except he has indeed simplified his prose for the Sun. No new depths have been reached.

bettybattenburg · 05/01/2020 02:07

That's disappointing after he seemed to have a brief moment of clarity regarding climate change on a recent Grand Tour episode.

I saw that, we were amazed to hear him say it tbh.

Is there a link to this column?

MNOPQ · 05/01/2020 02:09

Who are the 11% who think he's OK? Presumably JC PR people if they even exist.

Genuinely concerned about those 11%.

heath48 · 05/01/2020 02:12

He’s an obnoxious twat, always has been.
