Jeremy Clarkson and Aussie fires.

Jeremy Clarkson ha s apparently written a column about the bushfires here in Oz. He apparently feels that God hates Australia, so he’s burning it. He feels that all Australian animals want to kill people ( forgivable view, but untrue. Mostly!) . He feels that Australia is too dangerous for human habitation. Okay, normally I enjoy Jeremy’ refreshingly un-pc, tongue in cheek humour. He does go too far sometimes and he has stepped way over a line here. People are losing their lives and homes. How this can be a topic for humour is beyond me. I know the man can be bigoted, but so outright insensitive?

DH was watching his show last night and I said I can't fucking stand that man and went into another room.

And then I read about this this morning. He's such a dickhead and a total insensitive twat.

He's on par with Katie Hopkins for the utter fucking drivel he spouts

He's a colossal twat.

Most things he says are inflammatory and contrarian bollocks.

MNOPQ: noticed the same thing and thinking😲. Apparently, a not insubstantial bunch of people think it’s okay to joke about people who are losing lives and property in terrifying circumstances. I live in Tasmania. We took our dog for a walk along our local beach yesterday and we couldn’t see usual landmarks maybe a kilometre away ( a bridge) and you could smell the smoke. Apparently the smoke came from Victoria.

It’s a pointless article (He’s nowhere near first on the list of people that have wondered why so may killer beasties reside in one place), but it’s not anti-Australian.

I live in New South Wales, our country is being ravaged by fire. People have died, homes burnt to the ground and half a billion animals are dead. For anyone to find any humour or entertainment value in that is fucking outrageous. Our collective hearts are breaking here, our country will likely never be the same. It’s true devastation.

Not only tone deaf and unfunny but spectacularly racist. God needed a home for all his creations-gone-wrong that couldn't live in "populated areas" so he put them in Australia? Never mind the world's oldest surviving culture. Or maybe the Aboriginal people count among God's "embarrassing mistakes"? Terra nullius indeed. And he clearly has a white Australia in his head when he invites us all to "come home". Yeah, no. We're good, thanks.

I'm one of the 11%. It's totally unreasonable to get worked up about Clarkson. He's a wind-up merchant and this is what he does.

No, because he writes later about the situation of those experiencing the fires.
